I tried a few with the particular requirement that video call between desktop computer and phone be possible. The only solution I found was ooVoo. I don't know where I got it, thought I had found it on the market, but it seems to be no longer available. I do have a beta version installed though that works.
It will use the photo camera, so you might want to find a mirror if you want to see the other party and be seen at the same time...
Performance is OKish, did a short test on wifi with desktop computer, framerate was quite low and laggy sometimes, also had a quite noticeable delay in the audio, but at least it worked...
HTH.
Bye, Roland!
oovoo is gud but i thnk fring is gud if u require to chat btwn mobiles nly. . .. . you can download it from itz original site fring.com

hey guys, is there any application through which i can video call to another cell phone using my 3g?
O1 doesn't have a front cam so am not sure how it will work out! but anyway try fring i think it might work in that.. but again using 3g for it won't give u optimum clarity anyway..

Search on the Market for Tango.
I have it installed and it works great.
yeah Tango is a really cool app
I am not sure if this is asked here.Does x10 supports video calling?I know it doesnt have front camera. Can we use the back one to video call?
hmm interesting question I would also like to know .. maybe u could try tango and see if it works or not... tango works on 3gs
Good question, but i dont think u can.
It,s not implemented into the default call app, but try it with 3rd party apps like skype, it may just work.

No since as you said, theres no front camera(its just the ear sensor) it cannot be. I mean, it is not logic if you cannot see who you call but he/she sees you
It's not possible with gsm but you can video call with volp like tango, skype and other
tango works using the back camera
Yeah, but it will works too with front but we dont have it
I've used fring and the back camera works
Do you think it would be possible using a Bluetooth webcam?

I've thought about this myself. I travel a lot with the military and it would be way easier to take a webcam in my pocket than a laptop.

We have already covered the post about Skype launch of Video calling application for Android devices. Skype official application works on Samsung Google Nexus S, HTC Desire S, Sony Ericsson Xperia neo, Sony Ericsson Xperia pro but today we will discuss about how to make Skype application work on Samsung Galaxy series and other android devices. Read on for details.
You need to follow below steps to use Skype Video calling -
Uninstall any installed version of Skype from your phone.
Download Patched version of Skype from XDA-Developer forum
Install the application on your Android Device
That`s it... You will be able to make Skype to Skype Video calls on your Android phone using your front or rear camera.
We have tried this on Samsung Galaxy S2 i9100 and it works without any issue.
Please note that you don`t need a rooted device to install this patch.

personally, I am not comfortable with using back camera for video call
I would better use my phone to do a proper voice call, than having to look at the camera and talk at it

I have found the thread:
Skype support Video Calling from xda-developers thread
The dialandroid did not mention the thread from xda-developers forum, is that above thread refers to?

Yes, but what do we use that for? Sneaking into the toilet and spreading porn videos? Getting killed by capturing video in a big debate? Skype is for CHATTING ,INTERNATIONAL COMMUNICATION AND BUSINESS COMMUNICATION. NO PORNS AND POLITICS.
thank you
