As far as I know only some Samsung android phones currently support Native 3G video call support. Even in the new version of android 4.0 (Ice cream sandwich) it is not there. If the manufacturers provide, then only it will be there. Android DOESN'T support native 3G video call. In U.S. the data charges are bare minimum and all of them carry smart phones.. for them it is not required... same for Google. Wait for the Next version of android or go for a Non android phone ( a lot of cheaper phones support native 3G video call support).

Samsung uses their own touchwiz (or similar) for their android phones to have video call support. None of other Android phones support video call (native).
Please correct me if any other Android phone support 3G native video call support.
not support!
video call = video chat...
In croatia (country) dosent support it...depends on your country.

Video calling should be there in this phone. This is the only lack in this phone..
SE people, kindly think on this.
Nothing to do with manufacturer. T-Mobile uk Neo v has video call, network and country dependant

The manufacturer indeed has a lot to do with it. They provided a secondary camera but no support for native video calls over 3G network.

I am from Singapore, and my Atrix cannot video call.
What about sets from other part of the world ?
Not through my carrier, but if I use Fring or Tango then I'm able to video call.

I'm in the u.s.. tango, fring, and Qik all work video calling on my Atrix. Qik has a specific version just for the Atrix that works pretty well. All those apps are free. I'm also on at&t by the way also. supposedly yahoo video chat works also but haven't tested that one yet. The first 3, I know works, and pretty well at that.
+1 for Tango.
Tango is the best one out there imho.
Those are all great for phone-to-phone, but unfortunately only Yahoo Messenger works for phone-to-computer chat. I personally dislike Yahoo, but they have a monopoly on this crucial function for the time being.

i use yahoo since everyone else i talk to doesn't have video calling on their phone. it's ok but the others mentioned earlier might be better for calling from phone to phone.
Try the new skype version

This statement is incorrect. Did you read the thread? Does Tango, Fring & Qik not work in your country!? Because here in America: Atrix make video calls!

Anybody tried Vtok?

it's not a videocall - it's app-to-app call with videofunctionality, but the author asked exactly about videocall - it's a 3g operator function. I wish atrix had it, likeall normal devices.
But as far as i know - there is no such function at all for android
video call on Atrix

i hate samsung
Hey guys!
I was wondering if regular video calls (not skype or google talk) are disabled on this device or just not supported.
I had older phones that support this feature and I'm shocked that it is not working on this one.
Does someone knows if this is by design or it could be enabled by tweaking/installing a new ROM?
BTW it is running stock ROM 2.3.4 compilation 4.0.2.A.0.58
Thanks a lot guys!
No, it's not supported
Sent from my SK17i using XDA App
not a single android phone have this feature afaik
do you mean video call using 3g? i am shocked to know that android can't do that. my trusty ~4 y/o Nokia N70 can do that without any problem. manage to make few video calls then i never used it again.
Maybe there is an android app which can able the phone to do video-calls... did you look for it??
J think is possible to enable video call 3g in native with a new dialer my samsung galaxy tab p1000 ( the first galaxy tab) have the video call 3g enable in stock rom and it walk like a charm
found a apk to instal it ...
j m sure it s possible !

Yes, I used it all the time with my Samsung Galaxy S 2, do you thing that the phone app of the SGS2 will work on a Xperia Mini Pro?
Thank you all for your replies!
Hi folks,
Can anyone who has loaded up the leaked ICS tell me if the native dialer included video calling?
I'm not asking about Google talk or any other third party video call, just the native dialer
Thanks
SD
i also want native video calling...
miss my old stupid nokia and sony ericsson that have native video call
Nope, I believe Android doesn't have support for 3G calling at all.

It is not about Android I think. Samsung phones have in built video calling over WCDMA network as I have heard.
It is just about writing the code. Native Android(Vanilla) does not have it.. it has to be developed which many manufacturers have skipped.
One of the few reasons why I'm still using my N8 as a primary phone.
Exactly, Dey,
I've come from a Samsung Galaxy S, which included the video call in the native dialer, and miss the option.
That and the telco include the native video calls in their billing, but any 3rd party would then be charged as data...

He means native video call over 3G.
There's already a thread about this.
I've been waiting for this too, but I don't think Sony will do it anytime soon.
Let's hope some crack head could implement this
Smartphone can not make the video call
Does anyone read the manual carefully about it?how can it like this?
even other cheaper cellphone can make the video call

Yap, you're right.
But Android does not support video call over 3G natively, only Samsung implemented this feature on some Galaxy models.
hello ,
i am having sony ericsson xperia mini pro, sk17i. i was trying to make a video call the other day and actually could not find that option. by native video call i mean by using the standard dialer not using skype or google talk.
on doing some research i found that in all the xperia the native video call support is not there. however in galaxy s and galaxy s2 which i have used have the support for native video calls. i heard that other samsung phones also have that support (i am not sure though cause i havnot used them)
native video call support is present in even nokia symbian based phones( even the bada based phones too wave 2 to be certain about) but apparently its not there in xperia. here in india since data packs charges are quite expensive people prefer using native video call wich is provided by all the networks.
i was wondering if its possible for you to tell me if there is an way to make native video calls in xperia mini pro sk17i. is there some app in the market or developed by xda-developers that can do the job?? or is it possible in some other custom ROM.??
Using Android 4.0.4
Sony ericcson official firmaware
As I know we can't.
Can use only Internet video calls. Sorry bro. Even in a custom rom, It'n not possible.
