Hello,
I just bought a refurbished Acer Iconia A210 tablet from Wal Mart. I was using the rooting guides and tool from this thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=34574546
I have diligently followed instructions to get my kernel unlocked, etc, placed the James Rom on sdcard, but I hit the wall when:
I cannot figure out the sequence of pushing Volume Down, vibrate, fastboot reboot, etc. to get into the CW menu. All I can manage is to reboot the tablet which fully loads android.
Therefore, I have no chance to install the JamesRomwith the REAL goal of rooting my tablet.
Can you help me figure out what I’m doing wrong?
If there's an easier way toroot this tablet, I'm ready to try that too. I'm disppointed that Z4Root does not work.
Thanks
Robert

Hello XDA Developers community!
I have this newly rooted tablet, it is an Alcatel OneTouch Tab T10. I rooted it using the tool bin4ry had, and it is now rooted. My classmate introduced me to this stuff and gave me the courage to give it a go, and now he's recommending me to flash ROMs and try out what suits my needs.
However, I found out too that I need to back-up my stock ROM first. Well, I want to back-up my stock recovery as well. I downloaded TWRP Manager from Google Play Store, and now I'm wondering how could I backup my ROM and recovery?
If you can recommend me other tools and tutorials etc., I'm willing to give them a shot. I'm hoping for an immediate response from you guys.
Thank you very much. I'd appreciate your help so much.
Hello all.
Just had a quick question that I hope someone might be able to help me with.
I am thinking of rooting my prime to play with a custom rom or two.
From what I read about rooting it seems like it is just pushing files based on a tutorial I saw.
Does the tablet actually need to be unlocked to root the tablet and install a custom rom or can I just follow that method without unlocking it?
Also if I decide to go back to stock can I flash a image from Asus to make that happen like you can with Odin on Samsung devices?
Thank you in advance and for your time.
Q&A for [ROOT][ONE CLICK][APK]Asus MemoPad 7 (ME70C)
Some developers prefer that questions remain separate from their main development thread to help keep things organized. Placing your question within this thread will increase its chances of being answered by a member of the community or by the developer. Thanks for understanding and for helping to keep XDA neat and tidy!
I installed the Asus OTA first and when I tried to root, it failed. Searching around on Internet, the little info I found, indicates that at the moment of this writing, you can't root with the latest OTA. So if you just purchased the ME70C and intend to root, don't accept the OTA. You might be able to do the OTA afterward without loosing root, if you follow certain procedures (i don't know what, just saw it mentioned somewhere).

Asus replied that the only way is to unlock bootloader, so I asked them how to and now I'm waiting for a reply!

Hello, I have followed the instructions in the thread and I keep getting stuck in bootloop. My ME70C has Android 4.3 and Kernel 3.4.43, and I followed these instructions from the original post:
1 - Make sure you are on stock ROM
2 - Download RootZenFone-1.4.5r.apk
3 - Install RootZenFone-1.4.5r.apk
4 - Put your tablet in airplain mode
5 - Open RootZenFone
6 - Start Rooting Process
7 - Wait untill all the process ends (you will be in Demo Mode)
8 - Reboot your tablet

I keep getting stuck at the ASUS boot screen, so I had to factory reset. I have tried twice now with no luck. Any idea what could be going wrong? Thanks in advance.
Also, is it possible to brick my device by doing this? Or will I always be able to factory reset to fix my phone? Just curious, I am new to Android.
After update to 4.4.2 its not work

I'm looking to buy this tablet today (Microcenter $59)..does it still work as if out the box or have you noticed some "changes" in performance?
Is this method working with a ME70C? I just bought my new Asus ME70C and would like to root it. Thanks.

I'm trying to root an especific tablet "Asus MemoPad 7 - Android 4.4.2 - Model K01A (ME70CX)"
The thing is, with the last update if I have a problem, I dont have how to go back on factory settings...
In the instructions you say "Make sure you are on stock ROM" what it realy means?
Is there any link that someone can send me or tell me how to root this device?
I try ZenFone, OneClick, even other root methods but is not working...
I would be very thankful if some one can help me...
Thanks and sorry about it!

Any way to flash stock rom and unroot lenovo a6000 plus to receive ota updates without bricking the device? I want to root lenovo a6000 plus but I'm afraid that it won't unroot and return to its original state as i have searched everywhere. No dedicated flash tool for lenovo like xiaomi devices. Made a big mistake buying this phone.
First of all Don't blame the phone for your mistake. This is a great phone.
If you want to unroot you should restore system backup (if you took one). No stock rom is available for this phone.

I know it is a great phone and i had made a cwm backup and restored it but many people out there are saying if we install ota update it will brick the phone and I'm waiting eagerly for the lolipop update hope it doesn't brick my phone. Lenovo should have made the flash tool available on the internet. Now if i brick I will have to visit the service center but I surely will request them to make the flashtool available on the internet.
