I would love to be able to use my phone as a bluetooth keyboard and mouse for my media center (ps3, xbox media center), but cannot find any info about this..
I guess it would be up to the bluetooth drivers, and to my understanding, that was the big issue with bluetooth file transfer on pre 2.x android roms.
So i wonder, is this at all possible?
I am no programmer, so i couldnt possibly do this myself, so the question is merely hypothetical.
It would be nice to use the hero screen as a multitouch trackpad for my htpc with two finger rightclick and scroll as on my macbook but that would probably be asking for too much
I'd say it's possible, but I doubt that those BT profiles are included in the SDK, so it wouldn't be easy at all. It might only be possible on rooted phones.
A multitouch trackpad for a PC wouldn't be hard at all. I had an app like that (I can't remember what it was called, and it certainly wasn't as good as a mac's trackpad) but it worked over WiFi instead of bluetooth. I think it had keyboard as well... hmm..

Gmote does this, although i can't recall whether it supported MT. and i can't get the server to start on my pcs anymore, it is throwing some java errors, but i had it working in the past, and it was kinda decent as a touchpad.

Gmote has similar features, but it does act like generic bluetooth keyboard to be hooked with any bluetooth device, that support bluetooth keyboards. You have to install the server side part, which is not possible for devices like WDTV Live, which I would like to use.
If you want to control your xbox media center you could always search for xbmc-remote on the market.. I'm pretty sure it's for WiFi only though.. :/

As of now I could connect S60 device as mobile to laptop.
but its little bit unstable, let see how it goes with mobile as bt keyboard and mouse as well.
BlueputDroid does this. It is working for me to use my Backflip as a BT keyboard for my Nook Color (though it's a little quirky for me)

I can only seem to dig up (and been trying for a little while now) info on tethering your xbox TO your 3g android...

"GENERIC bluetooth mouse/keyboard"
Note "generic" word in the initial post. That means no server applications. I suppose it should work like this: I run the app on my android device and then my pc (or whatever) should be able to detect new bluetooth mouse/keyboard. Does such app exist?
I have searched google play and found nothing. Such app would be extremely useful, I would buy it immediately!
Advanced Touchpad(Remote Mouse)

Crap - requires a server.

I think you mean it requires a client. If you want a service without a server, you are doing it wrong.

I mean it requires custom application running on the computer. That is not generic bt, so its crap.
UP
I'm also looking for such apps but can found, any update ?
Thks
I have rooted cyanogenmod 10.1.2 on my galaxy s, but this application does not work.
I get WARNING: BLUETOOTH STACK HAS DIFFERENT IMPLEMENTATION
Using the Nook Tablet with CM7 alpha that was briefly available here.
I'm trying to access my employer's citrix server. I've installed the receiver and configured everything properly. I can login, but before it displays my apps, I get an error that says:
Too many server redirects.
I get the same error when accessing the web interface using the default Browser or Dolphin. I installed UCBrowser, and it properly displays the apps. However, when I click them, it simply downloads the ica file, rather than opening it. If I use a file manager and click on the ica file, nothing happens. If I long press it and select Citrix Receiver, nothing happens.
I have the same problem on my Evo4G. However, no problems from Windows, Linux, or iPhone.
Can anyone point me in the right direction to get this working?

Ok, so I have this NFC touchatag reader, which connects via USB. Now, Android doesnt support this I guess because the dang reader needs a login to work or something. However, I emailed support and they responded:
"The reader we sell requires Pc/SC support from the os in order to work. Android currently doesn't support this. There's and custom android build out in the wild that does provide this functionality if you care to experiment. Another path for experimentation is using Android 's USB host mode and try to communicate with the reader that way. Either way we won't be supporting our reader on any other platform but windows and Mac. You're on your own I'm afraid. Best of luck and let me know if you get something working."
So can we get this to work? What next devs?
Hey there XDA Community,
I open this new question thread, because similar ones are not as specific and/ or posted in sub-forums for phones. However, Androidscreencast is a cross-phone program.
Androidscreencast is a java programm that allows you to connect to your Android phone through an USB connection. I think you need ADB and root access for this.
I am searching for something like this that also supports German charakters like umlaute (ä, ö, ü).
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
The app "My Phone Explorer" is said to be able to do this, although I didn't try it.
http://mymobiler.com/ also offers this Feature and works pretty well, after a few setting changes and restarts of the executable, also with umlauts.
However, I went back to Androidscreencast since it does not need an app and I realized it's convenient enough to use my phone for everything but typing with my finger and it's not so bad that I can't have umlauts.
Hi.
I'm new here, so apologies in advance if i ask a question that was handled in a previous thread.
I'm looking for a decent app that will allow me to control an android device from a pc. I have a tablet that is being used as a kiosk device and i would like to connect remotely and check the status of apps, run scripts, generally just troubleshoot issues that might pop up from time to time. I would like screen sharing also, that would make things a lot easier. I've tried webkey, teamviewer, airdroid but none of them give me the kind of functionality I need
At the moment I'm using a Nexus 7, but I'd like the app to work on any device. In future we might start using generic android devices, nothing brand-specific.
Any help in this regard would be greatly appreciated

Hey,

Here is the original thread ShareKM on XDA
If you read it a bit they start to talk about the workarounds.
Hope that helps you I'm also very interested in this.

Thanks. But as far as I can see, this only works if the pc and android device are on the same network. My kiosk devices are hundreds of kilometers away, so I need something that works over the internet
