Lucky bastard! That thing is awful.
I found this iPhone case on DealExtreme. Cost me only $1.68, shipping included. Cheap one to use in the gym. Couldn't fit any better, has fleece on the inside and feels overall hundred times better than the original one. I strongly recommend it even though it has a really ugly logo on it.

I picked up one of THESE on ebay.
I prefer this style to the velvety black original one that came with the phone. It's also a bit thicker and the rib around it adds some drop tolerance to the phone when it's in the case.
This is a lot like the one that came with my Elf when I got that.

I rather like the case provided. It just works. My only gripe is that it does attract fluff and stuff.
Having said that, I am awaiting HTC's silicon case. I'll be comparing the two, then making my mind up which to stick with.

You can exchange it with Dell for a Refurbished for $250.00 if you are the registered owner or replace the lcd yourself for around $100.00.
Those are your options. Calling Dell other than to do an out of warranty exchange for 250.00 would be a waste of time since this would not be covered under the normal warranty.
My Otterbox Defender should be here today to protect my newly replaced screen.. .

I am in India, and I dont think I will be making any US trip soon!
So, the exchange / replacement at $250 is not in scope currently!
I am serious about the 100 bucks replacement screen, but, again,
Like I said, It will be like 200 bucks here in India.

That phone belong to my friend fat ass 150 kilos, he few weeks ago brake the glass in 3 parts while play futebol, 5 days ago he come to me almost crying, he just sit on the phone, he said when felt the phone he lift but 150 kilos huge fat ass you can imagine.
I see on ebay for £80 glass, screen and tools, I'm thinking about buy and change by myself.

I think if you can see the screen, still working why not keep using the phone whyle you can ?

Update: Recovering from the shock..
I know many people who actualy keep using the phone after a crack on screen, if you can touch and it work why not ?
The streak in my possesion I can't see a thing in the screen but still working, I can answer phone calls and make as well, I just need to remember where is the shortcut.

The more I see of these cracked screen reports the more I wonder how long before a class action lawsuit is filed against Dell for this problem. Gorilla Glass be damned.
About what I see already the original case is so week, first problem the streak was droped on the floor from about 1 metre, that was enough to made a smal crack on the glass, so week unfortunately

Well, as luck would have it, I saw a tweet today about being able to go see the transformer prime at select Gamestop locations. There were two in Colorado that were supposed to have them to demo.
I called one of them in Denver, they said they had a display unit and a unit to sale. Well, hop in the car, and now I have an Amethyst Grey 32GB sitting next to me, completely sealed.
I wanted the 64GB version, and I think I will hold for that from Amazon. I'll probably just sell this one on craigslist.
I know I'm very lucky. The first time I've ever had anything like this happen to me.

Stuck it on Craigslist. Some of the people on IRC are saying I should take a dump of the rom before I sell it. However, if I open, I can't return it. Decisions, decisions.
Just called a gamestop about 75 miles away from me & they have the 32gb champagne gold one (purple) but i'm thinking i won't ever hardly ever be looking at the back of the thing anyway lol.My Xoom stays in a gel cover or either the folio at all times..so color really shouldnt be a big deal.

Lucky Mofo. If you don't plan on keeping it, smartest move now would be to put it on eBay. I'm sure you could easily get $800 or more for it. Since it's so rare and not even officially out yet. You should contribute by dumping the rom to developers so we could have a nice headstart on developing. The sooner the better and faster we get custom roms, CWM recovery, n over clocking.
Do a system dump dude listen to them then sell it on ebay I'm sure even opened you could still get Atleast 600! Just leave the clear plastic stickers on

Aftermseeing this thread I called around to local gamestops to see if they had it. They said only the big store ones around here would have it. I found one and they said none in stock yet but they will have it on the 19th. Only thing is he said they only taking pre orders on it so once they come in, they pretty much all will be accounted for. Especially since demand is so high. He said everybody been calling like crazy and going bananas looking for that tablet. I was like I know, it's the first quad core android tablet..LMFAO

My beloved prime after it was catapulted by my 10 month baby across the room (yeah, she's that strong, we call her Yetti behind her back).
Surprisingly enough, the bad mammajamma is still fully functioning (minus the fact that swiping your finger across those cracks will draw blood, the darn thing is razor-sharp).
Think I can RMA? (The prime, not Yetti)
I tried to nandroid-restore it, but it's still cracked, I'll write a *****en email to the dev with a feature request, "Please make option to restore broken screen or else I'll give you 1 star".
oh, and it made my GPS super-awesome now! I can see 4000+ sats now, some of them I can pick right through earth when they are right below me.

You could always ebay your Yetti ... i often think about the same.
That just hurts me from looking at it. If you can't scrap it for parts do you think a screen protector would prevent your fingers from getting cuts? If your into programing you can turn it into a test tablet for running and tinkering roms/apps.

who have ordered in tmo store online and received their unit box sealed like tmo local store unit? the first time i ordered online i receive my device in a box that is not sealed. they just place 2 tmobile sticker to hold the box cover. when i open my unit there was a dent and scratch on the back so be aware. make sure when you receive a unit when ordered online, the unit must be sealed otherwise the unit you will be getting is a returned from someone nor refurbished.

that is what i did. i cannot accept a device that has a minor issue! not with the $579 device! if some user here are sticking with some minor issue then it is not me, i always go for the way they advertise the phone. no dead/stuck pixel and a gap. the phone is advertise as zero gap device. but when htc will perfect this design just like the way they advertise it? this phone is one of the best built quality phone at the moment..

very true ..... i am getting mine wednesday , but im goin to get it in store, so i make sure everything is perfect, and in case im too lazy and order ti online or over the phone, im goin to tell them to make sure they send me a new phone ( the box covered in plastic ) since im buying a new phone, not a used one .. and yes i loooove the design of this amazing phone

yeah! because when i received mine was just a box no cover whatsoever just a 2 tmobile tape like i said on top post. i tried calling all t mo store in my area but only 4 store carry them and they said back order. so i was like no shyt!lol.. i already return 3 items, 1 that has 5 dead pixel it can be seen to any color and a gap. and the 2 i bought in store has 1 tiny stuck pixel top right, noticeable in black background. i don't like any minor issues in my ONE, i want it perfect so i can get what i paid for..

The key word you used was "probably". Some people don't use a case. Some people want their phone to look as nice as possible. You are supposed to get what you pay for.... and this is not a cheap device.

every one of us has our own preference about build quality. me i want it just like the way they advertise the device. money doesn't grow on trees.
it doesn't matter if you use case it will not make the gap disappear, it will be there and you know it. and if you're ok with a minor defective device well that's fine with me, that is your device not mine. i just want my earned money to be worth spending on the device.

What about the operating system what about sense? Sometimes when you exit something it's not as smooth as other transactions. Why aren't you guys complaning about that?

Its advertised as "zero gap" construction but I agree that people are too anal about it. People sending back all these devices are going to make it very difficult for carriers to replace them if it keeps up.

operating system can be fix by updates.. it is actually zero gaps because it is a unibody device.. everything need to be flawless. people care because they want their money to be worth on spending.what if that gaps will get worse its getting older? what are you gonna do? send it to htc to get it fix? if you are ok with you device with minor issue then that is fine.sharing this to anyone who care not to anyone doesn't care.
Mine wasn't sealed. Just had two stickers holding it shut. The bag it came in was sealed though. It had the sticky cover over the phone and nothing was missing and the phone was in perfect condition.

theres no thread because we all know lte is not available everywhere "yet". he made a thread not about the gab, but about the box being open.. dont like it. dont comment

Ummm... Pretty sure most carriers ship in open boxes - how else do you think they get the required SIM card in there? All phones I've ever gotten from T-Mobile, going all the way back to the Sidekick II, were just sealed with a sticker.
Same thing with at&t
Same with Sprint
Same with Verizon
And Sprint didn't even use SIM cards back then.
You guys are just looking to complain.

Please search on the Internet how carriers put their SIM cards inside the box and you will see how it works ... And today a tmobile representative confirmed all new htc one comes with the box covered in plastic , if is not covered, the phone is reburbished... I wish i had the conversation saved. So i could show it to you
