I just started to root my xperia x8, but I'm still confuse. which one version of busybox compatible with my xperia. or you can attached app of busybox in this thread. please.
You don´t need to worry about the busybox, just install a recovery, the you´ll have it.
After that, just leave it as it is, that means:
Don´t update it, don´t uninstall it, just leave it.
Custom ROMs also have the right busybox included.
Just leave it as it is.

Hi, guy & girls
i am wanting to root my X10i and then install the gingerbread system on my phone, i was hoping someone could point me in the right direction of which method to use when rooting as i know there are a few tools out there for rooting, (easy as possible really)
Thank You, any help will taken on board..
Just look up flashtool on android development as it's probably the easiest method. If not then try superoneclick.
i have done superoneclick and the superuser app had appeared on my phone, how do i go about installing gingerbread?

Yes, but you must install busybox with flashtool, then install xrecovery from the xrecovery thread. Have you used flashtool before?
Then read about a gingerbread ROMS thread to install the ROM through xrecovery.
If you have trouble, I will post links when I get to a computer tomorrow.

I recently rooted my device , and btw it works perfectly.
But now I get "access denied" errors from superuser without any "allow" or "deny" options..
It just denying it all.
But, some applications does get "allowed" from superuser.
I tried to change in superuser to "allow all" but still doesn't helps.
And.. Its kinda feel that I hit nonrooted phone, which is very annoying.
Can someone help me please??

Have you even checked link I gave?
It's old method for GB.
@LiVeBeaT: Since you are now on .62 problem will be as that doomlords kit won't work on .62, only on lower fw's.
Do you have installed CWM? If not try installing it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1364509

So Superuser gave you access to install CWM.
Good, now let's try this.
Download file from attachment put it in sd card, and flash it trough CWM.
Then test with few apps to see if it will ask you or if you will still have old problem.

I think you don't need to unroot. New root files should replace old files, but let's first try with first part of this post.

what?
simply select "install zip from sdcard", after that "chose the zip"(or something like that) and then find your zip(which you donwloaded from post above #14) and click on it, it will ask if you really wanna do that, you say yes, and that's it.
What system(from sd card), what are you doing?
the file that you attached in the previous post contained the folders
META-INF
and system .
when i go CWM>install zip from sd card>choose zip from sd card
it shows me the contant of my sd card .
then i entered the folders METAINF&system and i was told there is nothing in those dolders! im confused :S
EDIT : ohhhhhhhh :S i got it ! i accidentally extracted the zip =,= im sorry . trying again now
NEW: ive installed the zip and rebooted .
no change .. still denying . \:

and how do you want to flash it?? there's a superuser flashable zip in the dev section (I think) but you need cwm installed, and to install cwm you need root, so you first have to use that pc script I posted.
With that you don't need the flashable superuser, but is still necessary after you flash some custom rom
let me get this straight...
u can't unlock your bootloader and yet u're asking for a flashable zip for CWM?????
uhh... enlighten everyone of us here please... we are all very confused if that's the case...
Thanks so much for ur post
For u who confuse, i cant unlock my bootloader, but i can root and than install cwm, than i flash a rom, but without bootloader unlocked, after u flash a rom, cwm and superuser will not work, which is why i need to reflash the zip of these two right after i flashed a rom
Cheers!

Hey, did you look in SuperSu settings? There is everything you need. By the way I can't see the rationale to absolutely change your Su app and binary. They are now both the same in features.
Check in SuperSU settings there are options to ease the transition to superusrr, than download superuser on Play, and update the binary.
You dont have to root to have CWM you can remove the cache file in the CF root file. And you will have CWM and no super user

its up to you but i would suggest you try a look if your phone bootloader can be unlock...if it can be unlock then i highly recommend you unlock it and flash custom kernel....custom kernel is very good since all custom kernel are pre-rooted and all have recovery by default (CWM/TWRP or Both).... that means you don't have to root your phone and install recovery again and again...
Good news is my phone can unlock the bootloader but the reason i want to root because i want clear my internal memory, 53 mb left and i want to transfer all my app to sd card and to remove bloatware app.. As far i know unlocking the bootloader will not help solve my problem, am i right?
