(Q)Phone unlock - Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, A

Hi guys,
I have got an Xperia mini that is rooted and has cwm (still locked bootloaders tho)
Anyway I want to unlock my bootloaders but my phone is sim locked to T-Mobile UK. Does anyone know how to do this without doing any hardware mods?
Also what's DRM?
Sent from my ST15i using XDA App

Anyone know?
Sent from my ST15i using XDA App

DRM stand for Digital Rights Management and it concerns mostly paid music or stuff like that. As much as I know, unlocking BootLoader will remove your DRM and ALL STUFF that involves DRM will be PERMANENTLY deleted(!!!) and you won't be able to download it again. Also, TrackID won't work (think some other apps, too).
For SIM unlocking, theres lot's of unlocking sites that require paying, but i'm (also) looking for some FREE way to do it ('couse my service provider does not provide an unlocking code after a period of time), so, if you find it, post it here PLS!
---------- Post added at 08:44 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:00 AM ----------
One more thing, one you lose your DRM you CAN NOT REGAIN IT AGAIN for that device in any way!

Try Shazam as a replacement.
Frens keep ur fingers crossed...
I hv ported timescape and se backup restore app already. Now they both run on custom roms and even on non se phones
As for track id, m working on it, managed to get it installed.
It does record song and transfer it to gracenotes server, but returns authentication error.
Will find a way soon to crack d last step.

Hi there im willing to test trackid when you get round to it I have an xperia play on android 2.3.2 unlocked bootloader and rooted.
As someone else said its the drm certificates that get wiped when unlocking a bootloader that gets trackid to authenticate with the server.
There maybe a way to restore these drm certs if you have a phone with trackid working and rooted as you can find all the files it needs to run properly, no good with unlocked bootloader as files will be missing.
Im keen to get this going again and dont think its fair that i have a phone which was legally bootloader unlocked and rooted and had the trackid functionality taken away.
Any progress?...; )
Hi,
I'm really new to android and rooted my phone, unlocked my bootloader too (I like experimenting ).
Unfortunately Track ID got screwed, searched the web for solutions/fixes and I came to this thread.
I liked Track ID and still do. Any updates on this so far Myth999?
Can SE provide the drm certs to us? Nevermind the void warranty?
Nope buddy I don't think trackid would be possible...
I could make it load and all but when track id records and sends a song for search, it also checks the license on their server.
If the licensing was like se backup restore app, limited to files on the phone, it could have been circumvented, but track id is diff so as of what I know it ain't possible...
Tried my best

Until then I'm sure this will be "fixed" in the near future. We have very good developers and the like sharing their expertise.
I'll just keep my hope alive.
Thanks buddy.....and keep up the fantastic work you're doing

for unlocking "all capabilities of XDA"
I was looking for the answer of unlocking the bootloader automatically unlocks the simunlock.
I want to unlock my X10i (but the provider code do not work anymore (more than 5 times, false input).

But i am not as active in comments as XDA wants.

unlocking the bootloader does not unlock the sim. paying for your sim unlock is the only way. if you had issues inputting your sim unlock code that your provider provided you with, talk to them.
Also xda has problems with its search function. It has been disabled

thnx for the reply''s,

[Q] Password required to close an app

Good day, i am new programming android and i have a lot of questions, but today i have a singular question that i havent found how to solve it.
i want to know if there is a way to request a pasword every time the user wants to change the app or go to home screen, tha idea is that this app will request a password to allow the user change the app or go to home screen.
i would really appreciate your help in this matter.
Best regards
Try to download any of those app that you can lock apps with password... and block the launcher.
It shoud work...
can I ask why you are doing this?

well, as far as i know (NOT THAT MUCH JEJEJE), those app help you to request a password to launch an app, but what i want is to request a password if you want to close or change of app.
i was thinking in some code to add to my project..
the reason why i am doing this, is because im trying to develop a little program to share with some students, and i dont whant them to quit the app and start to do different activities
thank you very much
Add some logic code inside the OnPause or OnDestroy methods.
Have you tried blocking the launcher?
Are you gonna provide the devices? If not... a app that require a password to quit should require root....

thank you for your answers
Jrcon, that seems to be a good idea, but, where can i find a similar code just to have a better idea?
360porcento, yes i am going to provide the devices, and i dont understand about "root"
i really appreciate your help
Best regards
Rooting is the procedure to enable access yo practically everything an android OS has. Example - system, boot...etc. It installs super user access in the linux system so when u will use ur phone, u will have full access to its systems.
Hop i helped .

Hard/soft buttons or on screen? If on screen buttons you can download gmd gestures and hide the navigation bar with a 4 finger custom gesture. That would require root.
Other option would be put a password to close the app... but i think that for this you also need root as you are basically locking all the other functions on the device and a normal app shouldnt be able to do that....

Ok...
I did some testing myself
Download the app " app lock" . Set up a password, lock all the apps but yours and voila
You can also block all system apps, the ability of installing /unistalling stuff, making calls etc... sometimes the will get to the launcher... but they can do nothing from there, you can also have a launcher that can hide all the app by a password... and you can spam the homescreen with your apps shortcut....
You dont learn nothing of programing but is the esiest solution and you dont have root...
Hope it helps

Anyone know of a good lojack solution for android that can't be uninstalled?

Anyone know of a good lojack solution for android that can't be uninstalled?
Like the lojack for Intel AT Laptops that works on the hardware level so that it can still be tracked when the OS is wiped or re-installed. I like the idea of the software being not only hidden but resilient from the thief.
SeekDroid lets you hide the app on the phone so nobody knows it's there. You can remotely locate, lock, or wipe the phone if it gets stolen or you lose it. Unfortunately I know of no hardware-level solutions for theft recovery like on the Intel Vpro-enabled laptops.
Thanks!

Sounds like a cool app, for those interested there are pro (paid) and lite (free) versions available.

SeekDroid AntiTheft & Security Lite

The only app i know that works great is Avast. I have only tried it using CM (Which our phones will have soon enough since the BL is now cracked ) it will remain hidden on your phone even after a factory reset and the app is password protected.Search market for avast
cerberus is pretty good too.
Lock it down, wipe it out, track it. hide the device from app tray.
LockItTight
I think there is nor such application for android yet. but LockItTight is very pretty much application for antitheft which is less intrusive.... Less intrusiveness might solve your problem... totally out of the screen try using that....

yes Indeed LockItTight is the best option to go.... If you have particular questions try contacting their support service because they have the best...

Yes, it worked!!!! You will need the unlock code for your phone, and adb/fastboot installed. Once Unlcoked, just copy and paste the code that is on the thread.
Go here to get ADB/Fastboot:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2588979
After that is done, Unlock:
Enable usb debugging on phone. Connect to pc/laptop.
press and hold volme down and power button.
Once phone is up and running you will see a screen telling you phone is locked.
In command prompt, enter:
fastboot oem unlock password, for example, fastboot oem unlock 1531461291861883
your phone will reboot and revert back to how it was out of the box.
Power off, hold Volume UP and power button.
Select from the menu then in commmand prompt, enter:
adb reboot bootloader
followed by:
fastboot boot huawei-Y536A1-root.img
I sent an email 3 days ago for a bootloader unlock code. How long is it taking for everyone else, are there any alternative email's I can send my information to?

I am in the same boat and unable to get the unlock code from huawei after multiple attempts. I sent the email following the instructions in here 3 days back and no response yet. How are some getting the unlock code and others aren't?
I recall contacting them a month or so back also for unlock code, but I had sent the serial from the package and I noticed it was different from the one under the battery. So this time I sent the serial under the battery and still no response.
I like the phone, but if they can't provide the unlock code, this is going back to walmart as I find the barely 1 gb space really limiting. I also got an LG F6 for the same price and runs great after root/custom ROM with SD card hack.
Not getting a reply from Huawei here either. I sent an email 2 days before nobreak1970 got his and then another one a day after he got his from another email account. No reply to either email. Followed the template to the letter and double checked to make sure it was correct so I don't know why they are selectively giving certain people codes and ignoring others.
I did notice that the serial number behind the battery door is different from the one displayed in the settings menu so maybe I sent them the wrong serial number (I used the one behind the battery door) and they can't find the unlock info so they are just ignoring me. That's complete speculation on my part though. I'm going to keep trying every few days until they give me the info or at least reply and tell me why they can't.

Yes, thats what I meant by the SN behind the battery door.
I just sent another request with the SN from the settings menu instead like nobreak1970 and around the same time (midnight). Hopefully it works this time. If they do reply, maybe that's the problem all along.
EDIT: Finally got a reply and my unlock code! I used the SN from the settings menu instead and got my response in 100 minutes. They didn't reply at all when I sent the request with the SN from the back of my phone. I'm not certain this is the reason but maybe this will help you too if you're getting ignored.
Root works great! However I am not able to enable ART on this device even after deodexing all apks.
The problems is the compatibility of framework.jar - Huawei modified the standard android runtime so it is incompatible.
To be exactly, in Application.java:318, SystemProperties.getInt() is called to get a property "ro.config.hwtheme"; however, SystemProperties.getInt() will not be available for the framework if it runs under ART because SystemProperties.getInt() will then call a native function native_get_int(). This is due to a ART restriction: native functions shouldn't be called in class initializers (this restriction only applies to the framework, not ordinary apps, since when the framework is being compiled, ART has not been started yet). Hence, dex2opt fails and reports "Attempt to invoke native method in non-started runtime: int android.os.SystemProperties.native_get_int(java.lang.String, int)".
I wonder if that has something to do with why we can't use gravity box on Xposed
We have to disable the resource hooks in xposed framework to do anything in it.
As a matter of fact before you install the framework it gives a warning about huawei and its the firmware

Just a quick tip for those still waiting on the bootloader code. Be sure to specify on that subject line that you're requesting the bootloader unlock code. I was emailing Huawei once day for 2 weeks only putting unlock code request on the subject line. I was ignored by them every time until one of the customer service agent emailed me back asking me to specify which unlock code I needed the bootloader, network, or phone lock. I emailed back the next day with bootloader unlock code request on the subject line and got my code within a hour. I used the s/n found under setting and sent my email around 11 p.m central time. YMMV.
