Hey,
i have a evo 3d and even before i rooted it and put a custom rom on it, i wanted to remove that weather lock screen that always comes up when you power your phone on. The one that has phone mail camera messages icons and the Current weather, and you then have to drag a circle to the middle. That is the screen i want to remove or disable.
How can i do this with a rooted or stock phone?
I have seen the no lock app and the ScreenMode App which DO remove the Lock screen im talking about, but they ALSO REMOVE the security Pin / Pattern Lock screen also (which i want to retain.)
As it is now, i have to go through 2 lock screen when i power up my phone- The Weather Lock screen i speak of above and want to remove/disable - and the 2nd lock screen is my Pin/Pattern Lock screen which i can enable or disable via Settings->Security->Device Lock.
Please help me remove the weather lock screen,
tks
Widgetlocker is your answer
there's a couple ROMs in the dev section that have removed it, and are using the aosp lockscreen, go check them out.
Just go to setting personalize lock screen and change it to whatever you want no root needed
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA Premium App
You have 2 options. You can go into system/data and rename HTCLockscreen.apk to HTCLocksreen.bak (rather than deleting it, in case you ever want it back). Or you could use Titanium Backup to uninstall HTCLockscreen
Widget Locker now gives me its locker screen, which is then followed by my Pattern lock screen (which i need, i only want the pattern lock screen).
If i go to Settings->Personalize (nothing happens, as in i get no options to choose), it just brings me back to the home screen.
I have Titanium Backup Pro and removed HtcLockScreen.apk and it removed it sucesfuly, but now the default Google Lock screen (with the lock on one side, speaker on the other) and you slide the lock to the right to unlock it.
Is there a way to keep WidgetLocker running, but set it to NO lock screen. Normally you would just un-check "Enable Widget Locker" in WidgetLocker's settings but doing this makes the home weather lock screen reappear.
or is there a way to disable the Google lock screen and keep the Pattern Security lock screen (this is how i had it on my EVO 4g)
Thanks for the help guys!

Click to collapse
Hold your finger on the weather widget for about 10 seconds (untill the *trash* pops up at the bottom) and drag the sucker into the trash.
Took me all of the first day I owned this phone to kill that POS.
To remove the default HTC Lock screen?
Eitherway i dont have a Weather Widget on my home screen, nor can i add one (dont have weather or news listed under my widgets when i try to add)
tks for the reply
Hi, I've got a strange problem that for the life of me I can't figure out!
I've changed my Desktop wallpaper, and Lockscreen wallpaper but for some strange reason when I unlock my phone (the wallpaper is correct at the initial unlock screen) when I slick to unlock, I am shown the screen to enter my pattern, I am shown my old wallpaper!? Once the device is unlocked, the desktop has the correct new one?!
Where is this held?! I've tried every combo I can think of to change it, but no luck!
I'm using Halo Launch, and Widget Locker if that makes any difference. I've tried disabling both of these and using the defaults but the pattern screen still shows the old wallpaper!?
I love the "swipe up an icon to launch that application" feature of the lock screen on the One. But I've noticed that (seemingly randomly) it just stops working. For instance, I'll grab the chrome icon and swipe up, and the phone won't register that I've grabbed anything, and the screen just unlocks. Rather than an icon floating with my swipe gesture -- the lockscreen just fades out and then the phone displays whatever activity was open when the screen was turned off (almost like I've grabbed the lock icon, though I haven't). Has anyone else experienced this? And how can i get it to go back to the default behavior?
Did you install any kind of notifier that would display on top of the lock screen? I found out that after installing Notifierpro with accessibility services turned on it messed up the Sense lock screen.
I have posted my experience on a different thread and did not see your post. I just thought maybe you are experiencing the same problem.

Mine sorta does the same thing. Sometimes I will grab an icon (any icon for that matter) and it won register the swipe at all, It won't even bother unlocking and it wont register any swiping at all until I do one of two things
- I will have to hit the power button twice to sleep and wake the device then swipe to unlock
or
- Hit the Home or Back button then swipe to unlock
anyone experience this? hope this helps
Okay, I've been searching dozens of forums now.
Phone: HTC Desire S
I've a custom ROM in use. I've been using Go Locker for months with no problem. Yet I've decided to switch back to phone's default locker due to personal reasons. I've deactivated Go Locker and enabled the phones default pattern lock. Locked the phone and unlocked it back. Now instead of showing the pattern screen I've a nice little black screen with the Notification bar at the top. I can't pull down the notification bar down, cant unlock the phone either. Home button does nothing. Powered the phone on and off dozens of times. Tried using adb debugging etc.
Is there a way to disable the phone's default pattern lock and set a default launcher. I thing the launcher is not starting with the phone or something.
Could you give me suggestions related to the problem. I'd gladly answer your questions leading to an solution
I recently bought an LG V30+ and in order to make it feel more Pixel-like I replaced the LG stock launcher with modified Pixel launcher (https://forum.xda-developers.com/and...oogle-t3688393) and started using the live wallpapers that Pixel 2 has.
Everything worked out just fine before I decided to try out Microsoft's Next Lock Screen which changed the wallpaper on both homescreen and lockscreen. Of course this was easily fixed by changing the wallpaper back to the live one. Eventually I decided that the Next Lock Screen wasn't for me so I disabled it and removed it.
However, even after disabling and removing the Next Lock Screen application my wallpaper keeps reverting back to the default wallpaper that Next Lock Screen uses (the wallpaper that changes daily) after a few hours or everytime I restart my phone and I have to manually change the wallpaper back to what I want on both the lockscreen and homescreen. This is pretty annoying so any help would be greatly appreciated. Factory reset would obviously get rid of this problem, but since I've spent a good while already customizing apps I wouldn't like to do that just yet. I even reinstalled Next Lock Screen, then disabled it and removed every single permission it has, removed its cache entirely, and then removed the whole application. This still happens after doing so and it baffles my mind.
I found this old thread about this issue: https://nextlockscreen.uservoice.co...gestions/9153130-wallpaper-changes-on-its-own I'm just wondering how this behaviour still continues even after removing the whole app.
