Using Verizon SGS3 and when recording 1080p video I've noticed that the channels in the audio stream are backwards. Started the recording, made some noise on the left, then some noise on the right, and then when playing back the video I realize that when on the video I'm shuffling crap on the left the audio is actually coming out of the right headphone...
Recording with the front camera on the other hand has left/right channels in correct location.
Anyone else noticed this behavior?
Turn your phone upside down.

You're right, I guess that would work but then start/stop recording button would be on the left and the microphones would be on the bottom where the hands are usually at which would effectively be blocking the audio. Also, then I'd have to hold the phone mostly with the left hand while recording as the camera lens will be on the right. So yeah, flipping the camera upside down would work but definitely would feel awkward.
Is it possible to turn on the front earpiece for stereo sound from the front and bottom speakers for our device.. Note 4 and one plus one had this mod.

I'm using this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mobi.omegacentauri.Earpiece
But it only allows use of the front speaker alone. It works really well though. If you have viper4android and enable the volume boost it's perfect. I really don't understand what the fuss is. Why don't manufacturers utilise this as a front speaker.
Only problem is that to adjust volume, you have to press the gear icon and adjust media volume. The hardware volume buttons adjust the call volume. What is great is that during a call, the volume is normal and won't deaf you.
Another problem is that if you forget to open the app to enable the ear speaker, viper will make the rear speaker super load so you might disturb others.
So I've been playing around with the phone for a few days and come to one conclusion.
The phone speakers are not great. Average at best.
More specifically, the top phone speaker is so terrible it is drowning out the decent quality sound of the bottom speaker.
I'd much rather just use the bottom speaker and forget about the top altogether.
Does anyone know of a way to either disable the top speaker for media sounds, or an app that lets you independently control the left/right speaker volumes so I can just turn the dam thing off?
The bottom speaker is very decent and the distortion from the top speaker when playing at louder volumes is very annoyingly bad !!
Disable stereo+ function under sound settings
I already did this, and my problem was not solved

Hi everyone
Just a quick question regarding the loud speaker when in a call.
Do both the botitm and top speakers work on loudspeaker or just the bottom as my bottom is only working and I'm sure the top did too but maybe I'm wrong so I'm just making sure I'm right.
Both speakers work with music ect. .
Thanks
Mine sometimes on both other times bottom only.
Ringtone are the same on the setting when u choose it play from both nice and loud but then when some one calls only bottem. Must be a software issue.
Hi guys
I notice that my mate 20 pro's bottom left microphone failed to record audio (I tested it by tap on the other microphone holes and record my voice from each holes). The top and bottom right microphones work perfectly fine, only the bottom left microphone unable to record anything.
To check if it is the noise cancellation microphone? I am unsure how the technology works but I am worry that if the left microphone is actually damaged.
Can anyone test and share your findings? Thank you so much!
it is defective, get it repaired/replaced. I tested on my m20p and all three mics are working.
I liked the voice enhancer feature, also recording is crisp and clear.

Thanks rakesh!
However I have tested something interesting with the bottom left microphone. Seems like it is able to record my voice when I speak 'Ok Google'. Interesting part is, it is the only microphone that can recognize my voice, the other 2 microphones (which work perfectly fine as I mentioned previously) are not able to recognize 'Ok Google'
I assume it is the dedicated microphone for Google assistant? Still doubting...
Hi,
How can we try all the microphones? Is there any native app to do that?
Thanks

I remove my phone cover, use my finger to tap on 2 out of the 3 microphones, then try to record sound/voice from each microphone.
Hi,
I have noticed that the TOP microphone seems to not working, but I was sometimes been able to have it working, let me explain :
In normal use and using the ear speaker, the bottom right mic is used.
When using hands-free mode, it's also bottom right and if I play with the omnidirectional option (on / off / on) the top mic works.
So it's seems to not be an hardware issue but more a software one.
Another case, when recording a video :
In landscape :
- The left audio channel is recorded from left bottom mic
- The right audio channel is recorded from right bottom mic
Here, this is not correct, the left audio channel should be recorded from top mic, but top mic is not working here.
In non-landscape mode (portrait in french), it's the same as above and can be logic :
- The left audio channel is recorded from left bottom mic
- The right audio channel is recorded from right bottom mic
Now in application sound recorder :
- Both bottom mic is working with :
- The left audio channel is recorded from left bottom mic
- The right audio channel is recorded from right bottom mic
- Top mic is not working
I'm on LYA-L29 C432 - 9.0.0.187.
It seems that we have some kind of software issue.
Anyone can test and confirm ?
How we can have an impact to make Huawei work on this ?
Thanks.
Seb.
EDIT : i have found back a video recorded on firmware 9.0.0.153 version and it is correct :
In landscape :
- The left audio channel is recorded from the top bottom mic
- The right audio channel is recorded from right/left (I'm not sure) bottom mic but for sure audio is correctly listened from the right ear.
In non-landscape mode :
- The left audio channel is recorded from the left bottom mic
- The right audio channel is recorded from the right bottom mic
So it must be a software issue, right ?

This software bug is not corrected with the version 10.0.0.196. Anyone with a Mate 20 Pro with EMUI 10 can confirm this bug ? Maybe it concerns only some units because on the Internet, this problem is related only by Sebastii and me.
I sent a report to Huawei this afternoon, I hope that it will be corrected in 10.1.
Hoping too.
I have also made a video for the support start of this year and nothing yet fixed.
Other in France have confirmed too but as usual Huawei ask for reset the phone or sent in repair service.
Dload method does nothing, it is a firmware bug!!!
