Hi peeps (pun intended),
Does anyone have any information on when the peep app is likely to be fixed? I know HTC released a statement saying it was fixed, but mine is still playing up? I'm guessing it's a Voda problem?
Nope,
Peep on WinMo is still not working, on Android it looks like it is working now.
I am waiting for updates on this case too.
BTW: HTC never said they fixed it, you probably read the @HTC tweet, this was Twitter tweeting HTC.
Looks like the ball is in the HTC court now. Their developers are looking at the problem at this moment, so I am still confident HTC will develop a patch for this.
But I am also looking for a replacement.

Thanks for the heads up Wilco! I don't think Motweets is working either? I was doing a little digging on omarket earlier today, and all the latest downloads reviews stated it wasn't working? I just hope they get it working soon? I've only had my HD2 a week and it's not worked since I got it. : (

I can confirm motweets is working very well and has permanently replaced peep as far as Im concerned........
The whole breakdown was a blessing in disguise.......
I only use twitter to follow a few people so peep was ok but if you actually use twitter to its full potential then peep must really suck big time.....
Theres a free version of motweets, might be worth checking that out......
pocketwit is working now. they recently released a new version.

Thank you to you too lantern20. Much appreciated.
MoTweet
HTC peep has not been fixed yet, no worries, you can use MoTweet and it has a better interface. Also, TouchTwit has not been updated.
Anyone let htc know?? b'cos when I email them the problem ..they reply;
"Thank you for contacting HTC. With reference to your query, we still have not been informed officially that if this problem is caused by the change of server for Twitter around these days. For this we have forwarded this information to the tech-department for further assistance. But it still need time for then to check and test. So, take this for what it is worth. I was in Best Buy this afternoon checking out the Photon when I asked what he had heard about the GS2. He checked his computer and said they don't have an official date, but they had been given a date of September 4th for when they would be receiving more information. He also said with that, that it would be extremely unlikely to see the phone before then. I have no idea if this guy was blowin' smoke and for all of our sakes, I hope he was. It would be very bad news indeed for those of us expecting an August release.
What do you guys think? Does someone in his position really have access to that type of information, especially this early?
The phone on my touchpad started ringing today - odd since I hadn't paired it with anything. I answer and it is telling me my touchpad is infected and that I need to go to a website - of which ofcourse I didn't.
Anyone else have this happen before?
Skype? But I don't know how the spammer would know it was on a touchpad.
Nope. It was an actual phone call, but clearly using the internet. But the entire UI and everything was the actual built in phone function of the Touchpad.
I thought I was going crazy, and if no one else has had this happen, then maybe I am going crazy. hah
either you were installing things that were shady or this just isn't true.
wow you too?!?
I got 3 calls all in a row while I was at work. Got home and saw 3 missed. Was stumped and had no idea what it was.
The calls are coming through Skype. It's actually a fairly common scam as of late. They ask you to go to a website, connect remotely, they get all angry with you until you pay $150 to fix it.
I received a call once as well. My sister received complains about it too.

You two aren't the only ones. I also received one. However I was sure it came through Skype and not some call feature. It was crazy. I kinda had a laugh afterwards about receiving a spam call through Skype. Uh oh..
sent from my brainwaves...can you hear that?
So, obviously these are scams. BUT how scams reach you? Or the tab users are tracked?

My guess is they are just calling Skype accounts. If you had it running on you computer you might get one as well. Just a guess though.
I have mine set to only allow calls from known contacts. Well, on my PC as I have to wait 6 - 8 weeks to get my Touchpad.
PS I HATE spammers. I wish I could track then down with a Predator Drone!

+1 To what he said. Calls are rare, but I used to get added all the time by girls wanting to chat. "I'm married, goodbye spammer." apparently means "Please send me links to your private sites."
I'm with you on spammers, but more so on scammers. Right now the African scamming ring is taking existing listings for houses on craigslists, copying all the details, then relisting them... When you inquire, they say that they have moved overseas and want you to send them money before they will let you inside... or take an online credit report... VERY frustrating when you are looking for a home with your wife and baby!!!
I never go to Motorola for info, seeing as most if not all of their official answers are canned, but I was jonesing for some sort of gossip on ICS. Every support/forum link points to this static page:
http://www.motorola.com/staticfiles/Support/Experiences/Maintainance-Page/Unexpected_Downtime.html
I just thought a few things were strange:
1) what could have happened to bring the WHOLE forum down?
2) why would they have a timeframe set to be back up if it's "unexpected"?
3) could they be revamping for ICS support?
I know my conspiracy theories are more than likely just that: theories, but I wanna know... BAD.
I'm a patient man (kinda) normally, but I am REALLY curious as to how ICS will be implemented, and when since this is the first device I've ever owned that is guaranteed to get a major update.
I know we'll most likely get it mid-late Jan or early Feb, just tryin to stir the pot a lil bit...
My tab's Flyer than yours! Unless this is posted in a Flyer thread, then it's just as Flyer...

I found it strange too. I am registered there but got no notification. I do know they were going to go to a new forum - I think this week - but ran into a problem so maybe that's what happened. The problem was bigger than they thought.

It isn't odd. This is planned and at least to people wwith Soak Test invitations this has been known to be going on for at least the past week or so. Right now when I go on, it states that the move should be done within the week of the 19th. So far from the information I have received, they are hoping Monday the 19th that it is back up. This may or may not be the case as moving databases like that to new software and such can be a very complex and time consuming process.

Do you know - for Tapatalk users - how we change our password? I believe Moto said we'd have to do that but I don't know how to change it for just one of my Tapatalk entries.

I am thinking you will need to click the Forgot Password/Username link before you would normally log in and use the reset password field.

For whatever reason, when I decided to buy the Pixel 6 on Friday (1/21), buying it direct from Google seemed like the way to go. For some reason it wasn't showing up for overnight delivery on Amazon and my local Best Buy was out of them (the unlocked version).
It said "Get it as soon as 1/22!" so I clicked the link. Tossed the phone and case into my cart and went to check out. There was no option to get it next day, but I had a busy weekend planned anyway, and it said it would arrive 1/25-1-27. There was an option for $20 to bump it up by one day. Pass.
Ordered it, and pretty much forgot about it until today. Checked my order and it still hasn't even shipped, but apparently Google only gives you an hour or so after ordering to cancel. I checked; too late for me to cancel.
At this point it's back in stock for tomorrow morning delivery by Amazon and BB has gotten some more in, but I can't cancel my Google order. Grrr...
Kind of odd that it would sit 76+ hours without shipping, and not be cancel-able at this point. Note to self: don't buy directly from Google anymore.

Usually they have a status associated with the order. It's probably being sent to shipping if it's not cancel-able. Google does not give you "an hour or so after ordering" to cancel. If it's not in stock they will give you as many days/weeks as it takes to get to shipping. It's only the 24th and not even the earliest it was expected to arrive. Give it to the 27th and ... well all good things come to those that wait.
Yeah, pretty stoked about getting this thing. Can't blame me for some impatience ! My first Pixel. I've had pretty much everything but Google-made Androids.
The status shows "not shipped" but no cancellation because the order went to the warehouse on Friday. They are probably backed up like everyone else these days.
Ok, sitting back and waiting. Lots of great info on this subforum.
Lol..
I can't wait for the Pixel 7.
Shipping date Oct. 25, 2022.
My dear friend just look at me, you will definitely feel good.
I live in a country where Pixel phones are not officially available.
I placed an order on October 26th from Google store US to be shipped to my friend in CA.
Google started shipping on Nov. 7th, and meanwhile, I started worrying about FedEx as everyone on Reddit said Fedex always lost packages.
Finally thank god, it was delivered to my friend on Nov. 15th.
My friend started the shipment on Nov. 22nd via USPS.
In the end, it took a month to reach me.
And, it came to me without a warranty.

Yes.
I paid US tax $ 55.15
I paid USPS fee $71.75
I paid import tax almost $70
All for the 128 GB pixel 6 with a Pixel bud which I finally sold at almost $90
Wow big taxes! You are hard core! Do you like the phone enough to justify the effort?
I had one colleague a few years back from a small European country who had trouble getting good phones there. He practiced what I call Phone Tourism. He travelled to the US twice a year for work. Each time he would buy a phone or two here at a retail store. So he could always trade up once or twice a year and maybe sell an extra on the side. Never declares anything.
Meanwhile, minutes ago I got a note that my phone just shipped! Too early to know delivery date yet but at least it's moving.
Actually, the phone is not a nice surprise.
It is not as good as I expected and it is not good enough to justify my effort.
I was so naive as to believe the Google release show.

I'm curious what aspects disappointed you. Sorry you don't love it. I jumped into the Pixel party a bit on a lark, since my OP6T's final software update broke a few things and pissed me off. Not certain I will love it like I did my 6T that I kept for three years.

@Frankenscript Don't believe bush911, lol. With the January update, which you should do before anything else, you're gonna really like this device. It's thin, slightly large if you're coming from a P5 but you get used to it. The display is beautiful and the software is working really well. As the monthlies roll out it will even get better. Enjoy it and yes, I do know what it's like to be waiting in anticipation. We've all been there.

There are some minor problems which are really annoying. The on-screen fingerprint reader is not good, I always get a 7 out of 10.
The phone always becomes overheated while doing simple tasks, which never cause similar issues on my previous Pixel 3.
The front camera is not better than the one on Pixel 3, the main camera, the main camera doesn't show much superiority over the pixel3.
I hope all the above issues will be fixed by a future software update

The main reason you don't always wanna buy from Google is their customer support isn't too great. If for any reason you find yourself returning the phone for a repair or trade-in, be sure to take several pictures of it before sending it off. Video of it turning off and on, the speakers working, and the phone being totally reset is also a good idea.
I'm really enjoying my P6P, and they're finally doing better with the bug fixes on it. Congrats on the new phone, hope you like it!
Tracking last night showed delivery today, but I think it missed a handoff and now shows delivery tomorrow. Good enough. Gives me time to sort through my current phone and delete the crap. The problem is what to do with three years worth of original size photos. I'm a pack rat and don't routinely delete stuff.

Save everything to your computer. Get Backup SMS and save all your texts and phone log to an outside source. If you use the Authentication app either make sure you have it copied to another phone or the backup codes for your apps just in case the original craps out in the transfer. Also do a full Google backup when you see it on the truck for delivery. You should be good to go at that point. Oh yeah, copy everything. Delete it if necessary on the new Pixel.
Hi folks the Pixel six is here! Thanks for putting up with my impatience.
Pretty phone but I'd didn't realize how thick it would be! Anyway I'm setting it up. Most stuff transferred easily via the cable method from my old phone. Had some scary moments with Angry Birds 2 until I remembered how to sign in through Google play. But all good now.
I've got to get a better charger though. I thought my OP6T dash charger would do it, but being a USB A device apparently I'm limited by it.
Searching threads here for great info, will try to minimize repetitive questions.

Hi all, Several lessons out of this thread!
Google as mother company of Android is on top to impose their mandatory services to collect our data, but weak in promoting, selling, shipping and supporting their hard products!
On Android point of view, no doubt that bugs will be fixed in the future and improvements made.
Having said that and coming from Samsung, I got my first google phone P6 at a distributor shop and I'm very happy with it.
I know there is no "ideal" device, however here, my expectations are fulfiled.
Enjoy using our new toy
