Screen Unresponsive from holding down in same area? - Motorola Photon 4G

I was just wondering if anyone else with the Motorola photon was having this problem. When I try playing a game, particularly racing games where you have to hold down a button on the screen, the screen will become unresponsive in the one spot.
You can test this by downloading a racing game and then holding down the gas button, if you car or bike goes the entire game without slowing down or stopping you don't have this problem. However, I experience the car slowing down or coming to a stop from holding down that one area for long periods of time (usually 30 seconds). After about 2 seconds, the screen will become responsive in that area again and the car will speed back up, but then it will become again.
This problem I have noticed will multiple racing games from different developers. Here are two games I notice it the most in: RacingMoto and Top Truck Free.
Anyone noticing this?
If this is a problem with the phone sprint should fix since they market this phone as "great for games".

It's an issue for everyone. I forget the exact reasoning but basically the phone stops responding after holding a certain spot for so long in case it's something in your pocket doing it. Dumb idea to me but nothing we can do about it yet.
Sent from my MB855 using Tapatalk

That kinda defeats the purpose of a "gaming phone". Good thing I only play games on my phone about an hour a month. If I bought this phone to play games on and it did this I'd be pissed at Sprint for terrible marketing.

Water drop detection to prevent false touches ...horrible logic IMO.

I definitely agree! I posted it on Motorola's forums so hopefully someone can pass it to their dev team saying this needs a fix (if they can even fix it with a software update). Otherwise Sprint's support is in for a hay day from me

I too notice it it with top truck and was wondering about that.kinds sucks!

This issue is frustrating. The phone's gaming capabilities are amazing but I can't play racing games?
I did notice that some games are more sensitive to this problem than others, which has me wondering if there isn't something in the app code that is disabling this ridiculous touch timeout feature.

Oh I'm wiggling a finger right now, can you see it?
Wiggling doesn't help. Once it decides to timeout your long press it will do it in less time when you lift your finger and press again. Crrrrap.

Thanks Cornelious but the prblem is that the bootloader is locked and is 2.3.5 so i can't unlock it, i also can't acess the files with adb i think is because the screen autolocks by default when the phone starts so adb does not recognize the device.. any sugestions?

Touchscreen sensitivity app

I had a galaxy's, and recently I bought a Atrix.
I noticed that Atrix has a touch screen less sensitive than galaxy.
I've downloaded from the market "sgs touchscreen booster", this is an app to manage the touchscreen galaxy.
I tried it on 'Atrix and it works fine for me.
Now I am satisfied with the touchscreen.
If anyone has the same problem, I advise him to try.
Sorry for my bad English

Same. I still, along with (I think) everyone, have the issue with multi-touch when you hold fingers down for a certain number of seconds and the screen equalizes it, forcing you to wait a few seconds and try it again. This really annoys me on games like Jet Car Stunts, when, for example, I hold the accelerate button but eventually I have to let go and press it again to keep the car accelerating.
yeah that apparently is a feature and done by design from what I read. the problem i had was worse in the sent that imagine the screen going nuts after 5 seconds of activity.
Is there any way to increase the multitouch number. This app says it can but it doesn't work I know this is for the galaxy but is there any other way?

I was getting so annoyed of this phone because when i tried to typed i couldnt type one work without making a huge mistake because the screen wasnt picking up everything i guess. if i typed hey fast it would just type "hy" or something. but when i did this and put the sensitivity up to 80% and left the rest on default it fixed it. now i can type fast without any mistakes and it seems as it fixed multitouch problems as well! This app is definitely recommended.
I've always thought the Atrix screen could do with a higher sensitivity, after using the iphone. It might be all in the mind, but this app does seem to help. It is particularly noticeable when typing, I no longer have any missed letters where I haven't pressed hard enough.
Thanks for sharing this app

Media Volume?

For whatever reason, at random times, the media volume of my phone will just flat out mute. Once mute, I am unable to get it up, even through the sound settings, it'll just go back to mute. My only fix so far is to restart the phone, but it gets really annoying.
Has this happened to anyone else and does anybody know why causes it? I did the whole increase volume thing with QPST and made the volume Lv4. I seemed as if everything worked correctly, but I noticed absolutely no change in volume =_=;
First suggestion, get another phone. I had the same problem...

I had it happen.. it happened a lot with my g2x... And anytime I ran cm7 I had to reboot... I'm guessing just a faulty media driver or something else as it doesn't happen often.
Try a to download a different media player (music only obviously) from the market
Or just reboot your phone and increase the media volume in the "settings"
Im sure if its a major bug the developer's will find a fix

My slider is perfect, it snaps and takes the right amount of effort to slide. I've had two of these phones because of a part number mixup, had the first one for an entire weekend and both are perfect, good slider, no dust, light leak or dead pixels.

Fix: Go into Sound settings and change the Sound profile to Normal (preferably before launching the game, but works after-the-fact too, if you forget). Mine defaulted to Vibrate, and it seems that this game is programmed to disable sound (only after the splash screen and intro video, go figure) if it detects this or the Silent profile. Now I can hear the game, for a change.

Touchscreen or button becomes unresponsive after a while

After a while of holding down the same area or button of a game, like gas peddle on gta3 or moving forward on minecraft the button or area stops working for a bit, is this software level that the system suppresses after a while or something wrong with my screen? Can't find anyone else with this problem on google.... on stock 2.3.5 btw... patiently waiting for some magical genie to unlock this....

Known issue. It could be driver related (hardware) or software. I forget if the devs mentioned anything about it. I wonder if the problem is solved in ice cream sandwich. I will try it and report back
Its actually a rather annoying feature having to do with with water drop detection. Someone turned it off once once and said the touch screen was way too sensitive without it.

Will take a while to hunt down the app but anybody else have 'LinkedIn' app installed? It just hot rebooted while launching that app from a fresh restart - quickest hot reboot I've ever seen.
It might not be that app but then I went to the Play Store page and there are tons of 1 star reviews because the last update failed on people's phones - more interestingly the most recent comment is from a GS2 user who says latest update reboots his phone.
I've uninstalled it and I doubt I can be that lucky that it's that app and I find it so quickly but crossing my fingers.
Mine rebooted after I opened the Navigation app.

Some people say it happened to them before rooting, but I don't believe it happened to me until I rooted and installed CWM touch......so I'm going back to stock to start all over again so I can try to narrow down the issue. I had the same problem on my previous Captivate and am having it now on the GS III; no rhyme or reason to the reboots that I can see.
I still have heat problem but I played w/ different settings to see what it is.... I had att s3 which got really really hot... So returned it for Verizon s3. Verizon is better but learned that the data (lte/s3) makes it really hot and battery drain. Also the screen, of course.
If you're rooted then go get Phone info and disable lte. I tried CDMA auto for Verizon and it got much better... But at lowered download speed. I change it when I speed the speed... Doesn't require reboot so it's easy to change.
U can also under clock using setCPU.
I don't need it to be fast normally except when playing games... So just have it at 384min and 1024max... I find this helps allot w/ heat as well... U can try and find your setting that's acceptable speed and heat.
Just sharing my experience here.... So good luck.

Happens here too with the T-Mobile GS3. I think they rushed their fabrication process to deliver a high volume and fubared a few hardwarewise. I've even had it lockup/freeze once when not even in the OS but just in the recovery menu's. But yeah, the usual is a totally random unpredictable hot reboot throwing out my resident programs, homescreen, ect. Starts with the screen being frozen and not accepting input, then a short vibration, then back to homescreen reloading and all regular apps and widges that are supposed to run at boot load again. It's as if there's a micro static short or something. Anyway, I'm sick of problem solving and looking through logcats. Going back in for warranty. This is a dream phone except for this ultra annoying bug that it seems not many people have.

Happened to me once or twice (that I noticed) in the two weeks before I rooted (stock UCALEM), and a few more times after. It's just TouchPiz being pizzy. Maybe someone can catch the logcat, but there's nothing we can do about it (except install a better ROM )
How would anyone be able to diagnose this BS
"OK. My phone is hot. And it randomly reboots".
"Crap - u r out of luck buddy. Go change ur damn phone".
Provide ur phone model, ROM version, apps installed. Check ur battery stats.
As a solution - flash any custom ROM which removes bloatware.

In addition to the above, make sure the screen is clean, and if it is plugged in that the wire is secure. I know my wire is wobbly and can make the screen start "ghosting," I have to lock the screen and unlock to get the screen responding normally again. That method may or may not help here.
Somewhat related, I've been running Newt's XxX 3.2.1 and can verify multitouch is messed up beyond three touches. Noticed on Osmos when I try to play. But I can play games fine otherwise; majority of games I've encountered require only two touches at most.
