Hi,
I'm currently in the process of updating my android version to ICS on my Galaxy S2.
It has been on the download screen, at this point, over an hour.
Does anyone know how long this usually takes?
Thanks!
It doesn't take this much tym its definitely a network issue
You get ICS installed in the end?
Thank you.
No it didn't install. I'm looking further into it. I think you are right about the network issue.
So is the update suppose to be provided by the service provider or samsung?
I'd suggest to check the galaxys2 forum section, there will be users that surely can help you better...
Is this an official update? It sounds as though you had an OTA update rather than flashing an unofficial rom, if this is true what network is this with? I thought it'd be January before Samsung released their version of ICS?
EXCLUSIVE: Android 4.0.1 by Samsung for SGS2 (CUSTOM)
Samsung Galaxy S II official Ice Cream Sandwich test build leaked, available 4 flashing
The first official Samsung Galaxy S II Android 4.0 build is out and is now available for download. Folks over Sammobile.com, who got this build from their inside source, say that this build is not for everyone. If you only install stock builds and do no play around with Android on your Galaxy S II then you better stay away from it.
Being a test version, it is expected to have bugs. Initial impressions reveal that Samsung has kept its TouchWiz launcher over the ICS UI, but Android 4.0 elements are clearly visible and you will notice them in the following video.
What works in I9100XXKP1?
All the Basics work like calling , sms , internet and more.
Some applications havent been worked out correct so they will force close on stress.
Because we are dealing with a “CUSTOM” ROM here it can occur that the phone will react very slow from time to time.
There is also the chance of some “RANDOM REBOOTS”
We at Sammobile advise people to not use thhis ROM for daily usage.
If you want to download this firmware then you can do so via the provided link below.
Download
Password: samfirmware.com
Again if you only flash STOCK ROMs then dont flash this.
Because you flash this rom with “unsecure” kernel the phone thinks its “CUSTOM”and will start counting on your custom counter.
You will loose your warranty because of this.
Awesome!
I haven't unlocked my new s2, but was waiting for this. Will definetly wait for some reports on this ROM before flashing
I immediatly try it!! Thanks
Why again a topic, there are already topics of it,or did i miss something?

Awesome....What better Christmas Gift to all S2 Lovers.
Now Sammy is in race with xda developers....Kidding ;-)
Anyways...Just went through the video..Looks genuine.
Lets what comes of this in the coming days
Still a bit too strong as an expression, "official". It´s no more (and no less, for that matter) than a leak of a beta.
Use the thread in General to discuss this leak.

When will official Android 4.0.4 firmware be released for Galaxy SII?
Samsung already has it working on the SIII, can't take much effort to bring it to SII surely? Seems to be taking ages. Jelly Bean will probably be released before we get this update!
Go to http://www.samsung.com/ and locate a contact method.
Anything else anyone tells you is pointless speculation. What super awesome feature are you so eagerly awaiting? If you're desperately wanting that 0.0.1 of extra goodness, flash an AOSP ROM.
Sammobile said samsung working on it....One site said samsung stopped working on 4.0.4 for GS2....No news from samsung
Please stop making these threads. This question has been asked dozens of times before (search). The answer is always the same; how the hell would we know ?
A member asked sammobile and it said that a leak will be out in july/august.

It has been found out that this delay is due to a curse from the Heavens. What has been suggested is that 100 men between the age of 25 and 35 should assemble at exactly Noon tomorrow on the local beach and do a total of 1000 pushpus and then have ice cream sandwich at the local restaurant. It is believed that this would please the Heavens to revoke the curse and JB would be out immediately.I will say around 3 PM tomorrow if everything goes to plan.
Please inform all your friends who are as anxious as you about this important programme that will change our lives dramatically.

It has been available in India for long, I had even received a call from Samsung that the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update is now available on your Galaxy S3. But I told her that I am already on Jelly Bean, thanks to CM10 LOl!
Anyway, you check sammobile for Indian OTA Jelly Bean update link.
Otherwise, simply install in using Odin, this firmware called XXDLIH - http://www.theandroidsoul.com/samsung-galaxy-s3-jelly-bean-update-xxdlih/ See, I have this on my S3, and it's working for other Indians (see comments) too. I guess you probably already knew about it, no?
