Anybody knows if i can extract the "samsung task manager" from the stock rom ?
what all files will i need to extract ?
The File you need is "jobmanager.apk" and it´s placed in \system\app
...or maybe you find it downloadable somewhere (maybe ask google)
Greetings

do i need any other files ? (i'm not sure but maybe the word is "dependancies" )
I think not, but there is a widget also but I can not tell what the Name is..
I think it does need touchwiz framework... after all it displays on home long press.
do u mean touchwiz.xml file ? or the touchwiz framework itself ?
If you want it for stock rom then only it wotks otherwise it will not work on cm at any coast

Hi friends..
I am using a Custom Rom..
And i edited some parts of it..
For example : Deleted google maps , talk and some unusefull apps. And added another applications to ROM memory another launcher , keyboard , messaging app and some apps which i use everyday important apps for me..
So now i am asking can i make my system a Custom ROM..
like other Custom Roms a zip file install it by CWM..
( I am not talking about Backup and Restore .. )
I need it because i like using different ROMs and it s hard when go back to use my best custom ROM have to install my usefull applications again.. If i can add my usefull applications in to a ROM it will be really great for me )
Hope someone can solve my question and explain it clearly..
Thx friends...
Yes you can.. Use 7zip to drag and drop ur apks or Delete files from Flashable zip of ur ROM...
BUT.. dont delete any apk that your ROM cant run without...
Default APK
So you mean i cant change any default application ?
I mean i don't want Original Touchwiz launcher, keyboard can't i change defaults ?

Ok friends. but you missunderstood me..
I m trying to find a way editing the custom ROM's applications changing them .. And when i flash that room i wanna the applications which i added in that ROM..
And i wanna change ROM's defaults
i mean i will edit a ROM's launcher .. When i flash that ROM it ll install GO launcher or other which i choose default..
Can u understand me ?
Or i want to make ROM what i am using now..
Not Backup..
definitly yes, you can personalize your rom before installation, refer to this thread... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=633246
I think JJ meant that if you have a custom ROM made by someone you can open the zip file and modify the apk that are in the /system/app/ folder.
Following that idea... for example if I delete from a custom made ROM browser.apk and replace it with opera, I just put the apk there with any name or rename opera to browser.apk to make sure it installs correctly. So, if I delete an apk from a custom ROM do I have to replace it with an apk of the same name?
Btw, thanks for the "kitchen" link .

only those applications (apks) that have 3rd party alternate available can be replaced with your own custom apks... E.g, you can deletes browser.apk ...and without changing name you can add opera.apk... The OS will recognize automatically opera.apk as new browser..
Some applications don't have a 3rd party replacement such as settings.apk, systemui.apk.. you can't delete those... But you can replace them with modded ones of same version of fw without changing names...
thx

Needed things to make working original SE keyboard:
in /system/apps: textinput-tng.apk
in /system/libs: libXT9.so and maybe libtouchpal.so (not sure)
in /system/usr: xt9 folder what contains dictionary files (a lot of SEMC_????????_xt9.ldb file)
No need framework I'm on the road now, cant make .zip, but this is not hard, everybody can copy these files from SDE rom.

Should have clarified stock ICS for the P7510 but I gave it a shot anyways and it worked like a charm :good:
.:UPDATE:.
Actually the only adverse effect is that it adds menu items and a notification icon for a non-existent 3g antenna.
Based on that I had to uninstall this.
How do I install this
Hi,
I downloaded the framework-res.zip and extracted it which gave me a framework res apk. From what I understand, I have to copy that apk and paste it inside /system, but I did not understand the thing about the permission 644 thing, i tried to look for that but was unable to find it. If someone could guide me or give me more detail, I would be grateful.
Just for extra information, I have a P7500 (3G, UK, XEU), rooted and with CWM Recovery. It is on Stock Samsung Honeycomb 3.2 TouchWiz.
Thanks again in advance.
The CyanogenMod Team needs to add this animation.

I've been trying to recreate this but for the P7510 but APK Multi Tool doesn't want to recompile the apk.
I used the "Apk_Manager"

I did try something similar in S2 days, the results dont really match the expectations, you have to consider the screen size, resolution and dpi in this case.

Dear charly
In your earlier post I have given the link for stock Samsung IME. Apk and its .odex file . please give proper permissions to it and check.
Also if you are unable to use it search for Shafta keyboard in XDA. it's a nodded version of google keyboard with number rows like Samsung keyboards. Also you can set your preferred language in settings.
Check if it helps you

extract it on your sdcard. it contains the .apk file as well as its .odex file. it might be possible that you must have deleted the .odex file from the system folder also. it is necessary to have the .odex file in the syatem folder for stock odexed rom apps.
Use Root explorer. mount the system as R/W.
copy both the files to system/app/
give permissions as rw-r--r-- (see the image for permissions)
reboot the phone .
if not possible with the above, then download this app from the link below and install it
