Hi there, I think I may have messed the phone up a little, such as this MMI error message which comes up so I can't use speeddial, or any other # code for that matters, also I can't disable call forwarding, and a few other things.
This must have been the result of rooting, etc. Is there an easy way to get my phone back to how it was (basically how it would be straight from the manufacturer, no root at all, just exactly how it was when I first bought it brand new?), bearing in mind I have also flashed it 3 times?
Cheers.
it might help if you said what you flashed it with? Details.
But if you are just wanting to flash back to stock, here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278
Read, and follow the instructions. They are very clear.

"Hi there, I first of all rooted my previously straight out of the box T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S2 using the xwkdd_insecure.tar (with Odin and SuperOneClick - I am a complete noob by the way, but this seemed to work after I followed a YouTube video), so that I could then unlock it to use 3 Mobile (in the UK) which I am on - I had bought this phone brand new and sealed from eBay (someone's unwanted upgrade). I then went on to using the free ChainFire sim unlock app, however I soon discovered that after all my phone can't have been locked in the first place as I just got a 00000000 code, never had to enter that and my sim worked having not previously tested it... Then I went on to flash it by using this file first - I9100XWKE7_StockKernel.tar - after seeing another YouTube video to purely debrand it but this only got rid of the yellow ! logo which appeared after rooting it, that is all.
So I then went on to using this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1064894
in order to debrand it of all T-Mobile stuff, such as the T-Mobile logo and trademark tune which came on after switching the phone on, and get it like a standard sim free/factory unlocked phone if you know what I mean. I used this file as mentioned in the link - I9100XWKDD_I9100XXKDH_I9100XEUKD1_HOME.TAR
The latter part of the guide goes on to entering #272*<IMEI># or something like that, but I have tried that all of the other alternatives and all I get is "USS code running" and like 2 seconds later the error message
"Connection problem or invalid MMI code" appears. I basically can't enter anything in my phone dial with # or * or whatever. What is wrong?
I have also noticed that whenever I call someone a message saying "Conditional call forwarding active" appears, but then proceeds to make the call okay. I have tried to disable and fiddle around with the call forwarding settings, phoned my network provider, but again, error messages come up.
What exactly is wrong and how can I fix it - I am a bit of a noob with all this....? It is surely something to do with all that stuff I have mentioned. Please help me as I honestly don't know how to go about fixing this. What is the most straightforward thing to do which will stop these messages?
Last of all, I flashed using the following, my phone seemed to be auto-rooted as I never had to root again? I9100XWKE7_I9100XXKE4_I9100XEUKD1.tar
Thanks in advance."
I got my samsung galaxy s2 this month. Everything is ok until the day before yesterday. When I try to make a call, it says "mobile network not available". I go to the setting--->wireless and network--->mobile networks--->select/unselect use packet data, there is no icon indicator it is activate as it should be. I tried the factory data reset, but the problem is still unsolved. Thus far, call/message stop working. Wifi is OK. Do you have any suggestion on that? Thanks.
Please check your IMEI, and your Baseband version.
If they are not available, you will need to restore your EFS, if you do not have a backup, you will have to visit Samsung Service Center, or repair the EFS yourself.
Do not use another phone's copy of EFS as it is illegal to modify or clone your IMEI number in most (if not all) countries. You can however use someone's EFS backup, and mod it with your phone's IMEI if you know how to.
Hi,
I'm in this horrible situation: no baseband, no IMEI. By ny chance, do you know how to get a EFS backup and change to my IMEI?
I appreciate any help. I was trying to make a call, the person on the other side could not hear me. I reboot and...lost my baseband. Checked IMEI, it was also missing.
Thanks

have u solved your problem? I got something quite similar...
In my sad experience, your only chance is going to Samsung and ask them to restore your IMEI. From what Samsung in BRazil told me, it should be in the same country of the device. As my device was imported from the UK, Samsung Brazil could not do anything, as IMEI database is Country restricted. I believe this info is correct as the representative was very helpful. It did not look like a lame excuse. If your device is not under warranty, it should not cost you more than U$ 50. That was the price here, and everything in Brazil is so expensive these days.
My solution was to buy another Galaxy S II in Brazil as it had been released here in between the time I imported mine and the time it got screwed.
Wish you good luck.

I have the same problem, but if I take out the sim and put in another phone, it works, and if I took another sim (from another operator) and put it in sgs2, it also works, just this sim not working in this sgs2. Is this operator controlled by apple and trying to block sgs2 devices?

Wipe Dalvik-Cache

I've got the same problem...
does anyone have came up with a good solution?
Try this
Root your phone.
Go to efs folder in root. Go to imei folder in that you will find a file named mps_code. Edit it using root browser from market. Erase everything and type your original imei no. and save it.
Reboot your phone and now check.
Cannot guarantee it but it worked on mine. Good luck

All I had to do to go to the Access Point Name ('APN') settings and change the Authentication Type from its default 'Not Set' to 'None'. After that, my internet is working fine.
It would appear this may be an issue common to a number of Chinese phones, so hopefully this will be of use to other people in the same situation.
Hey guys,
This is my first post here so please be nice I will try be as informative as I can!
Last week my aunt got a Samsung Galaxy S2 as an upgrade after my recommendation. She loved the look of things and liked how she could access Youtube and Facebook but then she got locked out of her phone completely and couldn't get back in because she didn't know her Gmail account.
After a bit of research I found out that I should do 'Hard Reset' and all should be back to normal afterwards, I did so and everything looked okay.
After giving the phone back to her my aunt said she no longer wanted it and gave it to me because it was too 'complicated'. Obviously I was overjoyed as my current phone does not even compare to this beast!
I put in my Orange sim, (hers was Orange too) turned on the Wi-Fi to update all the apps not even noticing that the 3g icon wasn't on. I could see the phone had some signal so I thought everything was okay. It was only when I tried to call my dad of the phone that I realised something was wrong. It said 'Mobile Network not Available'.
I have found many threads about 'rooting' or IMEI but I don't understand what they mean as I am a newbie in all of this.
I would send the phone for repair but it does not have insurance so that's a no go. The phone came unlocked too so I don't understand why it's doing this. The sim I put in works on my old phone so I'm pretty sure there's nothing wrong with it.
What should I do?
Looking forward to your replies
See * HERE *
Remove your battery and your sum card.
Wait 10 seconds put them back in and reboot.
If problem still exists go to
settings > wireless and networks > mobile networks. Select your carrier network.

Thank you for your replies samgalaxys2 and dred_up, I appreciate it!
I tried doing what you said samgalaxys2 but nothing's changed, I tried doing it myself before but no luck
In reply to your questions on the other thread I can confirm that my sim works as it works on my old phone. I can also create contacts on the sim too.
I don't know what the EFS folder is but when I dial that number you said (*#06# ) I can also confirm that the IMEI is the same number shown in my settings and underneath the battery.
What should I do?
Wiska.
The fault = put your sim in the phone then not working .
First step has to be to get a new sim .
That would be followed by either a return to a service centre or via XDA a flash of new stock firmware .

Have you tried the Access Point Names in the network settings, mine changed it's self after flashing a new rom.
Hello JJEgan, I have tried various working sim cards and it doesn't make a difference, I even tried a brand new T-Mobile sim. In the 'About Phone' section I can clearly see the Sim's name but it always says Out Of Service underneath.
I have tried that too s.d.oconnor, at times it doesn't work and when it does it says something like 'Network Updated' but nothing changes.
What do you guys mean by 'Flash of new Stock Firmware' & 'Flashing new Rom'
Sorry for the amount of questions guys, I have never experienced something like this before

Hmm okay,
I followed the thread and had to do it at-least 3 times before I could do it 'correctly'
I managed to get Ice Cream Sandwich OS on the phone and although I could now use the sims internet I can't use it to call or access my voicemail.
What can I do to fix this?
If I have to download a new rom could you copy the link because I think that maybe that's where I went wrong?
I am sorry but I tried my best as it is my first time doing all of this.
I think the Rom should be an XX as the phone and myself are in England plus my network is Orange
Wiska.
You can use the Dutch firmware XEN without problems...
Also is your fone a i9100P (NFC) or standard i9100?
Or take fone into Orange or a Samsung repair centre to have it checked out.
Hmm do you recommend I Flash it again and get XEN?
Do you think they'll repair it even though it has been flashed? I've got ICSandwich on it and I don't think Orange has released it yet lol
I tried to change the APN but nothing is happening

If it was a Orange (UK) branded phone, then first download, install and run Triange_away app. This will reset the custom rom flashing counter and take away any triangle at boot up (if present).
Next you need to download and flash the BVKJ4 rom from * HERE * - it is the latest official Orange UK ROM. It will wipe the phone to factory setting and you will loose root. It may solve your problem, but if it doesn't it will put your phone back to valid warranty for the service centre.
Sorry for the late reply, the amount of work college gave us yesterday was just too much!
Thank you for the link fred_up but the links are dead
Thank you for trying to help though, I really appreciate it mate!
Anyone know what I should do?
Search for the stock rom you're after on Samfirmware.com.
Edit to add - Make a note of the rom details from Intra's thread (the one you were linked to where the links don't work), that will make searching Samfirmware easier.
Thank you MistahBungle!
I am downloading what looks to be the firmware I need right now so fingers crossed it works!
Many thanks for the help mate! I will keep you updated if it works or not
I tried the latest Orange one but that didn't do anything, I then tried using the Carphone Warehouse one and although the 3G internet stuff works I can't call or text!
This is so annoying lol, any advice?
The phone isn't locked or anything as my aunt gave it to me, what can be the problem?

Hello,
I have found out that my Lumia 800 does not send ANY sms (receive only).
I checked that sms centre number is missing, so I wrote it inside and tapped ''save'', but phone did not save it, it was still BLANK. Tried it several times, it does NOT SAVE the message centre number.
I put the right number for my region.
I put sim on the other phone and work...
I have the latest windows phone update.

Try to run network setup and see if that helps, if not choose another carrier and then switch back to your own carrier, and if that also doesn't work, then use another simcard to see if that will solve your issue.
Succesz,
Right, i've seen a lot of people have trouble with their phones not identifying their SIM cards, and i myself faced this problem awhile back, i upgraded to Android 6.0 on my Honor 7 PLK-01, after i wasn't happy with it i decided to downgrade back to 5.0.2, running B130, and after the downgrade my H7 no longer identified my SIM card. The only thread related to this was someone asking how to CHANGE the IMEI of the H7, and apparently asking that was against XDA rules, but i read through the rules and saw nothing against it, unless i missed something, but i hope this isnt against the rules.
First i'll try to explain what an IMEI is based on my little knowledge, the IMEI is needed for your network operator to contact with your phone (or sim, im not exactly too sure on that), and if your IMEI is missing, your sim will not work.
Basically, here's how to fix/get back your IMEI 1 & IMEI 2.
ATTENTION, IF YOUR PHONE IS ROOTED AND HAS A CUSTOM RECOVERY, YOU NEED TO UNROOT YOUR PHONE AND GET RID OF THE CUSTOM RECOVERY
STEP 1
Check what your phones build number is, you can do this by going to Settings > About Phone, you should have your Build ID listed in here
STEP 2
Go to NeedRom.com on your H7 and download your corresponding OS update, for example my phone was B130, so i downloaded the B130 > B140 update, i would post the link but apparently i can't post outside links since im a new user
STEP 3
After you've downloaded your update, you don't need to move it to any dload folder or anything, just go to Setting > Updater, click on the menu button on the bottom of your screen, choose local update and it should show your downloaded update there, click on it and you'll be granted and option to restart your phone, click on restart and it should take you to the install screen.
after it's installed, your phone will restart and your IMEI should now be restored, and your SIM should be working again.. You should notice it instantly from your SIM working again, but you can also check it by typing *#06# into your dialer
i personally didnt find any other way to fix the IMEI on H7, this was the only way i got my IMEI back.
If this worked for you, please leave a thanks on this post
