My brother sent us the Atrix (AT&T) after he had unlocked the phone. He had it factory reset and now I'm getting an error message as follows:
"Failed to boot 0x1000
Entering NvFlash Recovery Mode
Battery is too low to flash"
He said it worked fine before he sent the phone...and neither of us are quite sure whether or not it is fixable. Is it hard bricked or is there any way to fix this?

From what I saw (searching for hours), this hasn't been straight answered. I've seen different answers on different threads. One saying to try a different battery, and another saying that yes, it is hard bricked.
Ever heard of the mcgyver cable basically u sacrifice a data cable cut of the part that jacks in the phone and connect the open wires directly to your battery. Plug it in and leave it for a while. Check the defy furoms or just google it
That spliced up cable works, fixed mine like that and posted a thread here about it a while ago.

My power switch started acting funny yesterday. It won't work if I push it directly, but if I slide my finger up across the switch as I push it down, it will work reliably.
This may not be related to your problem, but worth a quick try.

This happened to my razr maxx last month and even with a factory cable it was toast. Go to droidrazr.com forums and search making your own cable out of a usb cable to jump the phone. Sorts like jumping a cars battery. You will have to take apart your razr though. Another reason i hate this phone doesnt have a removable battery.
It is removable, just not without the case being removed first & why did you create two threads about this?

If you had been paying attention to your own thread you would have noticed that the "Delete" comment was not aimed at the thread.
I posted then changed my mind about it so it was aimed at deleting my own post.
Same thing happend with my razr 2 weeks ago. I tried all things what I found on forums (incl. battery remove -yes, it is very simple- , factory cable, all type of key combinations) but without result. So I gave up and my razr is in repair center now and probably will get new motherboard. I've read somewhere on verizon forum that "rarely, but the cpu itself is crashing" and that could be the reason why the factory cable or battery remove doesn't help. I think this could be same as a damaged BIOS chip in a PC, you can push the power button but PC will not react to that.
If you want , i will buy your phone as it is , with its problem
Hi!
I have the samsung galaxy note i717, a few days ago the phone shutted down by itself while i wasn't ussing it, it read online that it was too much apps. i did the soft and hard reset and i had the same issue, so i read the next step was a factory reset. so i did it, and wipe the cache. after that, the phone started to reboot/restart by itself while i wasn't using it or wasn't charging... i did the factory reset, reboot it and even reinstalled it the firmware again on kias, but, the problem keep happening. today i left it charging for a long time and the phone won't turn on, it doesn't even show the battery logo, no download mode, no safe mode, no reset mode... and i think it is hard bricked. i read about jtag, changing the motherboard, or use a jig... i want to know what u guys think about this... i bought it on ebay and i would have to return the phone otherwise, so i'm trying to fix it by myself...
ty :fingers-crossed:

I've kinda seen comments that jtaggn is like pretty efficient but you would have to do alot and jign plug tht thing and c if it will wake it up. Sometimes works and sometimes doesn't depends.how bricked the note is i guess a more direct app is jtaggn

JTAG is for a phone with the rom from another phone flashed to it. You can't enter recovery and Odin doesn't recognize it. It is the only way to bypass the boot and flash the correct rom.
Jig is for phones that won't go into recovery by software or buttons.
I think you have a battery issue. Trade with someone, then you will probably need the jig ($3.00 from ebay) to get into recovery.
well guys thanks a lot! but, i took it somewhere and the dude changed the battery nothing hapened and he told me i should just return it and i did. i loved that cellphone!
I'm sure it was operator error because I downloaded the FoxHound ROM on the phone instead of to my computer first. So when I went into recovery to flash it, the file wasn't in the root directory, I wasn't thinking.... I just flashed it from the "Download" folder after wiping the cache. No, I forgot to do a factory reset too and I was running CM nightly before.
It appeared to flash ok with no errors and rebooted. It started to come up with the Foxhound logo and such then went black. Dead, nothing. I pulled the battery, waited a few seconds, replaced it and still nothing. Someone help if it's possible or just tell me to contact Sprint for a new phone. When I plug it into my computer I get the tone sounds from the computer that indicated an unrecognized device and nothing pops up, not the usual sounds of a recognized device.
Thanks !
wipe data from recovery and you should be good to go. it's a soft brick, nothing to worry about

How do I go about doing that when I can't get the phone to be recognized on the computer and the phone itself is unwilling to even power up or do anything. I literally am looking at nothing. Any suggestions would be GREATLY APPRECIATED.
Volume up/home button /power on,all at the same time this will get you into recovery mode where you can factory reset , if that doesn't work you may need a jig.
Edit . Just read your last post again , is it totally dead even after taking the battery out , no charge led. If so then the motherboard has failed and you need to read the sudden death thread in general, mine died three days ago .

Hard to say but I doubt it , mine died three-day ago and was like yours totally unresponsive nothing at all worked even a jig , a jig is a tiny usb that plugsvinto the bottom of your phone and gets you into recovery if you softbrick your devise they're only about £2. If your phone was bricked in anyway it would power up but get stuck on boot up but as your sayings totally dead then I think it is dead.sorry.

Yeah, it's not a pretty site. I have no LED's, nothing. Boot to recovery does nothing, normal boot, nothing. I've left the battery off for a few minutes, still nothing. Looks like a new phone may be in my future....
Well, sorry I misunderstood you
Hi everybody.
I was playing with my i777 and flashed a gallery file (just 1 apk) via CWM. It booted fine but crashed when using the camera and then rebooted. After reboot, it turned off and now I cannot turn it on again.
I tried download mode by removing battery, holding the two volume buttons and connecting to USB. That did nothing. I also tried USB jig which also did nothing. Connecting the phone to AC power source to see if at least the battery charging screen will show up also does nothing.
So the screen remains black with the soft buttons not lighting up. My phone is hard bricked from the looks of it. So my question is will sending this to MobileTechVideos for JTAG have a highly likelihood for unbricking or should I save the $50 and USPS charges and just buy a Nexus 4? I mean if they don't fix it, I will need a new phone anyway, heck I don't even have a spare phone.
Previous ROM was CM 10.1 03062013 nightly.
I don't even understand how that could have resulted in a brick...

I don't either but like I mentioned above. It rebooted ok after CWM flash then hung then android rebooted. It crashed then won't respond to jig, USB, power cable.
I failed to mention that I am afraid that this is an EMMC failure and that they might not be able to fix it and I would be wasting $50.
You say you tried Download mode, but made no mention of RECOVERY. If you can get there you're not bricked.

I was trying to do an odin factory restore, everything looked as if it went ok. Green pass and all but no reboot on the phone. Im getting NOT a single thing from the device (no led, no screen, no downloading menu) but when plugged into the PC it recognizes something being connected and sounds off but odin won't find it either. These are the directions I followed http://www.sxtpdevelopers.com/showthread.php?t=237
after flashing I noticed up on the title it says SPH-I545 but it says for verizon. Any help would be appreciated. The battery should be about 60%.
Also possible first hard brick (sch-i545)

Yes, I have been trying everything for hours now. I know this is only my second post, but Ive been doing this since the beginning. I have always received the help I needed via these forums, but clearly something has happened and I've soft bricked on many a droid phone and always found my way to a solution, but no lights, no vibration, yet when plugged into a computer, just as the first post mentions....it can tell a device was plugged in, but driver installation fails. I'm almost certain I hard bricked it and I'm very upset. I have an insurance policy that covers absolutely anything with a brand new device, but I have never filed a claim and can't afford to wait. I really messed up this time.....

Brand new several months old from Verizon Dealer. I never had a problem, worked like a charm always. Do you think there is a trick to get these bad boys operational again? All we need is for them to turn on and we can do the rest. I am so ticked off right now...

I hope so. Tomorrow I'm going to delete the drivers and see what happens. I read somewhere to disconnect from PC pull out battery, hold both volume buttons down insert battery then plug it into the PC while still holding the two buttons. That didn't work for me though

If you can not get into odinmode (download mode) or recovery, sounds like you are hard bricked and out of luck.
If you CAN get into odin mode, are you on Mdk or me7? Can use this method then. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2301259
Only other suggestion is to get the "kies" software and do an emergency update from there if it can recognize the device correctly.
From past experience when i bricked a previous smartphone, the end result was my computer would beep and recognize something was connecting, but never add it to devices would contiously beep on and off if i unplugged and plugged back in, and phone would not boot into any mode.
Damn. Thanks for the info.
