Can you get into Download Mode?
Were you running a lag-fix?

i was running vodoo lag fix..no i cant get into download mode, only recovery mode
in recovery mode it says error, cannot find update.zip file.
Did you happen to dis-able the Voodoo lag-fix before flashing the stock ROM?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
no i did not, and now i do not know anything i can do..
That's a tough one, the maker of Bionix said you would greatly regret not disabling vodoo before flashing.. voodoo sounded like something I don't ever want to mess with for that reason alone, so I never will. sry I can't help, maybe download mode on odin and load fresh factory rom
im in download mode on the device and i have odin opened, how do i flash the stock rom now? also how do i get odin to find my device? thanks

To get odin to find your device in download mode you simply need the proper drivers installed. Be sure to plug in the device in download mode and let Windows detect the download interface properly before you run Odin. I'd also strongly advise you use Odin3 v1.3 (found in Dev section...also a link to this in the Vibrant Bible post) instead of Odin3 v1.0.
In the Bionix 1.3 thread, instructions for dealing with the "oops I forgot to deal with disabling Voodoo" screw up are in the first post, right after "Did You Flash Something Before Disabling Voodoo? Then This Fix is For You." It's a bit involved, but I've made this mistake myself last week (I misspelled the disable-lagfix of all things), and the method worked as advertised.
Best of luck!
learning how to use odin was a bit of a challenge, there's a really good youtube video.. this is the link- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AnY7P14JSWQ -copy and paste in browser this guides you on how to get back to stock on odin, which is a great place to start fresh.. make sure you have the samsung drivers installed on your computer, helps computer recognize our android
SUPER IMPORTANT!! open odin 1st as administrator, then whith phone (off) hold both up and down volume keys and plug in usb while holding them
thanks everyone for the tips, i got back to the stock rom now. and even got a lesson in using odin to flash in the future
i tried to install a different unlock screen and my phone had a ton of force close i was able to get into download mode and odin open, it reads the phone but it gets stuck at setup connection for ever any ideas on how to bypass that so i can revert to stock
I started having problems with my vibrant so i had to put new roms on it in order to get it back up and running. I want to samsung firmwares for a rom and accdently loaded the wrong rom onto my vibrant ( I9000DTJP5 which is a vodafone rom) and once i restarted it my phone went into manual mode. i have tried everything to get it back into dowload mode so i can go back stock but nothing seems to work. offering $20 via paypal for any help what so ever. Thanks in advance
Get into download mode by pulling the battery. plug in your phone to your pc. while holdin the volume keys down put the battery back in ,this should take you to download mode .then Odin eugenes froyo that doesn't brick after that reset odin and put the pit file and jfd file then odin then you should be fine.

Go read the sticky, as it's more in depth than anyone could be. It also has some videos which you'll most likely need once you get into download mode.

If nothing else works, look up the jig solution. Almost guaranteed that will set the phone on download mode. Once on download mode ODIN back to factory stock. If you are not comfortable i will do it for you for free. Depending on where you are located you could either bring it to me or ship it over.
Hope that helps.
If all else fails, keep your $20 and spend it on this, if you cannot make your own jig:

If you are referring to me i am located in Upstate NY.
If you haven't tried yet, use a different cable or a different USB. If you have a lot of devices plugged in unplug all the ones you don't need and try again.
Goto the vibrant bible and follow the instructions on using the eugene froyo rom that does not brick. Once you loaded that up than you can flash back a 2.1 flashable rom. From there you can use clockwork mod to flash one og the american version froyo roms.

I flashed Simply Galaxy V3.0 RC3.1. I followed the "best result" directions. My phone is now constantly rebooting from the crazy screen colors (rainbow) to the Samsung boot. I tried to use the 3-buttoms to go back to clockwork recovery, but it would just constantly reboot. Is my phone gone or is there a way out of this? Thank you in advance. (By the way, I was on Simply Galaxy 2.7.2 rom before flashing the new rom.)
pull battery
open odin
connect usb to computer
plug usb to phone
hold both volume buttons and insert the battery, download mode?
cool, just go back to stock. Links in my signature (going back to stock) has a guide and the files needed to fix you up.
Read the sticky thread and odin it back to stock. Your phone is fine.
Edit : oops better answer above. ^^

Thanks a lot. I was starting to worry a lot more because I wasn't able to get into download mode. After a couple of tries, I was able to do so. My next question is: can I use my Nandroid Backup after I root and install CWR on my phone? Or do I have to start all over again?

Yes you can use your nandroid, after reverting back to stock with ODIN.
The vibrant is so very hard to brick! im so glad of that
So I tried to use odin to root my device. I was following a guide on youtube but XDA won't let me post it. I got to where I run odin while my phone is in download mode. Everything goes according to the video, however, when the phone reboots it freezes at the Samsung splash screen with the yellow ! at the bottom. I've tried putting the phone back in download mode and running it through Odin again but the problem is not fixed. Does anyone know how I would go about fixing this?
Try restocking. If you repartitioned you may be in trouble. Go to cm7 website and follow their instructions.

I made sure the repartition option wasn't selected before I ran odin in both cases. I'm assuming by CM7 you mean cyanogenmod? Sorry for the ignorance, I just want to make sure I'm doing what I need to to get it back in working condition
Dont know why should you go to cm7 website.
Follow this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1103399
use an appropriate kernel for your phone.
Or get a stock kernel and use odin to flash: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278

I've got no idea what boxhead72 is going on about, but anyway, to be able to help you, we need to know what you've done. Generally, you need to make sure you're flashing a correct ROM/kernel/modem for your device. You also might need to reset to factory settings. But without knowing what you've done, it's impossible to say.
You can find stock ROMs and a guide for I9100 (if that is your phone's model) in Intratech's thread here: [ROM+Guide]Official i9100 Firmwares KG, KH1/2/3/4, KI1/2/3/4/8, KJ1/2 Download.
On the plus side, if you can get to the boot screen, you are far better off than those who get NOTHING. I know it doesn't make you feel that good right now, but if you can get this far, your chances of recovery (if you follow instructions) are near 100%.
If you told us that you get no response at all from the phone when the power button was pressed, you might have room to worry a bit.
Now, not so much. Just take a minute to breathe and read through your steps as outlined in the above mentioned threads. You'll be fine in all likelihood.
Okay, I did some more searching and realized I was on the completely wrong forum... I have the AT&T U.S. I777 Galaxy S2. So exactly what I did was install kies, close out of it, put my phone into download mode, connect it to my computer, install what I assume was an incorrect .tar file using Odin while it was in download mode, let it reboot and am now seeing it hang at the boots screen with the yellow exclamation mark. I wouldn't mind reformatting it if someone could show me how, but I mainly want to use this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1285894
to root it and install CM7. Could I just run odin again and install the .tar file given in these instructions? Or does it not quite work like that? Thanks for all the help you guys are giving by the way!

I don't know anything about that phone, but a quick look in those forums shows:
[Heimdall][Odin][Stock][Root]UCKH7 Return/Unbrick to Stock (or Root)
and
[ROM] CyanogenMod 7 for the Samsung Galaxy S II (AT&T) :: V7.1.0 RC1 (9 Oct 2011)
Thanks for those, I was actually reading through them when I noticed you posted them. I have another problem now though, I ran the stock rom through odin in this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1286432
but it failed in Odin and upon reboot it says firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies and try again. I didn't know kies had a recovery mode, but when I connect my phone it always fails to connect. Note that I CAN still get into the download menu, but that's it. At this point is there anything else I can do?

I presume Kies recovery mode is in Kies -> Tools -> Emergency firmware recovery.
I noticed that as well but like I said I cannot connect to Kies so any recovery mode isn't very helpful

I guess if you've done everything on [Guide] How to Prepare Your Phone to Return to the Store or for Warranty Replacement (which is linked at the bottom of the thread I linked earlier), then your next port of call should be Recovering an ATT Galaxy S2 after flashing GT-I9100 Firmware.
I'm trying to return to stock on my Verizon Note 2. I'm currently on AOKP 4.2.2 and have TWRP. I tried to use the Odin method shown by Adam but my phone is not being seen via USB. I've tried to uninstall all drivers and reinstall. Tried again by using Kies as suggested by many.
Can I return to stock just by using TWRP? Are there steps or a walk through on how to do this? Links? I'm thinking I could go into TWRP, wipe the cache, delvik cache, and then factory reset. Then install, "flash" a update.zip and return to stock. Would this work or get stuck?
Also, not sure where to get the update.zip I'd need. I have the OTA stock downloaded from Adam tutorial...not the "alternate" but it's only one file. Would I just zip that, rename to update.zip and try to flash?
Please help!! Again I'm unable to do this through usb plug in so I really need another route.
Thank you in advance for any help!
Do not try renaming the file and flashing. Nothing good will come of that.
Not sure if you looked through this thread, but this might have different info for you.

I read through that one too. Tried all of that. ODIN will not work. My phone is not being detected through USB. Again i've tried all the reinstalls of the drivers etc.... Tried different original cords. nothing.
I need a way to return to stock through my device. Maybe load to the external sd and flash. Can this be done?
Not sure what file to flash though.
If odin isn't seeing your phone then something isnt installed properly. Probably drivers. Im not too sure about it because the only time I used odin was when I first rooted and I haven't touched it since.
The only option I have heard of for doing it from the phone is mobile odin. I dont know much about it, never tried it. Here's the link for it

Are u sure usb debugging is on?, or try going back to a tw rom before using odin, i also read that kies has to be removed from comuter, and phone before trying this, i had problem originally, manually installed drivers, and went to device manager and checked operation, you also have to be in odin mode on phone( power, home, down at same time, as that way it is in download mode.

Tried all of this as well. I installed kies and tried that route as some were saying the drivers may work through that method. They didn't so I tried uninstalling. I was in DL "odin" mode when trying to run odin also.

My phone was a trade off for a iPhone 5.. Best move ever but the last owner had somewhat messed up the phone modding it. I did a full wipe and the previous owner had never done any backups. I wanted to start fresh. All that being said I wanted to start back fresh at stock and then do any modding that I preferred from a new state.
I just flashed MeanBean after reading back through the posts to my question. I realized I had not tried using odin while on a TW based ROM.
I'll see if this helps.

I too am having issues with my Note II not being recognized by Odin on my PC. I know my drivers are installed and I have a good connection with my USB cable/port since when I plug in my phone when powered on, I can see the phone and card just fine. However, when going into Download mode and running Odin 3.07, Odin isn't seeing my phone.
I discovered this while looking into another situation from another thread. While I'm not currently attempting to return to stock and aren't overly concerned about returning to stock since I could probably do it with Mobile Odin if push comes to shove. I am concerned, however, that if I'm unable to use MO and my phone isn't being recognized by Odin from my PC then I might be up the proverbial creek with a paddle.

Glad it worked. And as an added bonus now I know if I do ever have problems and dont feel like spending the time to figure it out, I can just use mobile odin.
