I obviously bricked my P7510 to a near death status (black screen, no backlight, no logo, no nothing). The only response from the tab is a APX device showing up in the device manager.
nvflash --sync or nvflash --bl bootloader.bin --go just result in the message
Nvflash started
rcm version 0X4
Command send failed (usb write failed)
I have fixed the power button to let it go on and off to drain the power now and hope that it will boot into a mode that is recognized by odin then. Are there any other suggestions or is that the only chance? Thank you very much!
Already seen a couple. There are some threads here .. some suggest checking these links:

please report what works for you.
No solution in those 2 threads works unfortunately - any other suggestions while the tab drains? Thanks!
I have the same problem...
hope someone will know how to fix it with no need to send it back...
Ask this guy, he seem to have fixed his. He doesnt say how but PM him and ask.

This is insane. We have the greatest unbicking tool built in to our device. I used it for my POV Mobii and for Transformer and on all thoose forums theres been a clear guide on how to do it. I guess the intrest hasent been that big for it here in Tab forum. But this is something thats built in to Tegra so whatever the device iit should be the same procedure. So i guess we should be able to run the tooll posted on Trransformer forum if we exchange the .img files being sent to the device to Tab .img files, its one recovery and one boot and system .img files being sent to the device. But it also partions the device so it could be that we have to change some partion map. I dont know but this feels sick that we dont know how to use this backdoor to our device.

Problem is the SBK is set on most Tabs and when you don't know it, nvflash is useless. Which looks to be the case here.
Up and running again!
The battery has been completely drained after 4 days (used duct tape to hold down the power button to create an on/off loop).
After that I charged the tab and the download/recovery menu was available again.
The tab is running fine now with the asian firmware and 1.4GHz.

Connect your tab with your PC and open your device manager
Hold down the power button (or do this with duct tape)
Depending on if you installed the proper driver you will either see a APX device in "other devices" or a nvidia boot recovery driver in "universal serial bus controllers". The device will come an go (as you hold down the power button). When the device finally does not show up anymore, the battery is fully drained (it took a few days for me).
After that, just charge your device, you should be able to get to download/recovery mode then.

Hello everyone, I know what you're going to say but I did a very wrong move.
I tried flashing recovery image through Rom Manager. It gave me four options and I chose Vega Advent. Now after a reboot, it doesn't even boot. I tried to connect to my PC but the USB doesn't detect a thing. I tried pressing the power button for about half a minute and then I tried pressing the power button together with the volume + and - and all together, but still nothing. I fully charged the battery until the light was green but this didn't make any difference.
The NVFlash always gives me "USB device not detected".
I don't know what to do. I'm in a hurry as I'm leaving the country in a couple of days and I don't have the time to argue with woot.com
I learned a lot from this forum in my HTC Hero, LG Optimus, Samsung Tab and the Asus Transformer. You are my last hope. Is there anyway I can unbrick this? Can I hard reset the device? Can I remove the battery and put it back again? Is there anyway out of this?
Please direct me to the right direction. thanks in advance...

Well, I downloaded the usb drivers for the NVFlash. And yes I tried booting the device this way but the PC didn't detect it. The notification of new devices never came up.
What do you think I should do?
What os is your PC running?
You're effed.
You probably got the worst case of rom manager bombshelled. Permanent loop in apx mode + usb recognition borked.
I'm guessing you know how to get into apx mode by power button and volume -. If you haven't tried it, then I strongly you go to the website linked in my signature and go to nvflash page. I just included nvflash stock files with CWM pre-installed.
If you have been using apx mode all this time and nvflash still can't recognize your usb, then you have a nice life.

I tried to use your guide, well not from the start unfortunately. I downloaded all the files but I can't get the PC to recognize the gTab or even detect anything when I plug it in.
If I send it back to viewsonic, do you think they can refund back my money or at least send me a replacement (though I'll be leaving)??
Then like goodintentions said check out the link and do it start to finish. The links there are the right files.
I have beard of people recovering from this. Just make sure you have the right drivers installed. They are on the link above.
Check it out, try it start to finish and report back. We are here to help

I wanted to add something. The device feels hot or warm to be precise from the back. Now after unplugging it for about five hours. Do you think it is running and this is only a software problem?
it might be in apx mode now. It is a blank screen. Hold power for 30 seconds and release. That will make sure its off. Then connect it to your PC and hold power volume -
I just helped vvvccc a little over a month ago... see link; my post starts as post #8. Before that, did you try pluggin into a different USB port and/or use a shorter USB cable on the PC?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1056860
While you are at it, you may want to flash just the CWM once your computer recognizes the gtablet in apx.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1058649
If this doesn't work... there are two more options floating around but one involves opening the gtabled up.
--- BTW, stay away from Rom Manager, it's the reason I wrote up the instruction to just flash CWM ---
Any news/progress?
Unfortunately none. I guess I'll go to bed now and tomorrow I'll have access to a linux pc. May be that will be a better idea. Thanks a lot for your support. I'll update you once I do it...
It was indeed working. It stayed like this for more couple of hours. I went to sleep and when I got up it was cold. I pressed the power button and it WORKED. Just like that. Now I shut it down once again and left to charge.
Thanks a lot everyone, I'm so proud I belong to this community.
One last question, what should I do now? Do I still have to NVFlash? Should I flash the right recovery now? Also, which Rom is recommended? At least to start with, knowing that I'm on 1.2.
Hello, I have a Transformer Prime that only shows the logo of asus and in the upper left shows "the device is unlocked." I could only enter the tablet in APX mode but I dont have backups of nvflash to operate wheelie.
I have tried to put the tablet in ADB mode (power button and volume -) but the tablet just restarts and is not detected by the computer.
is there any way to recover the tablet or should I get the idea that I have to buy the motherboard. a friend gave it to me in this state and is like new and I would not throw it just for that.
Thanks and sorry for my bad English.

Keep holding volume down and power down button. After 10 seconds the prime will restart, keep holding both of them down for another 10 seconds, if you get to a screen with 4 icons on it (one of them is fastboot) then we can rescue it. If it just keeps restarting and you cannot get to them icons then you have hard bricked your device without nvflash backups.
What did you do to get it to this in the first place mate?

hello, as you report the tablet was a gift from a friend who had gathering dust. I decided to check it when I found this problem. and such as I read information on the forums asked if had tried to do something with it and just told me to try to free it with the application of asus. I have no more information about it and asked if he had backup of SD but I had the tablet had already formatted for use on another tablet.

If you're not rooted you might want to take it in to be looked at.. If you don't want to do that..We can Odin a one-click onto it and get you back up.. From there you could root or put a custom ROM of you're liking on it.. But first if I was you I would drain the power all the way off it..( tape the power button down or use rubber bands ) for a few days.. Then plug it in..if the charging animation comes up then..let it charge..when it gets above 60 or so percent..you can try toturn it on.. If that doesn't work and you don't want to go the Odin route hit me back and we can try a factory reset.. I'll walk you through it.. Let me now you're decision...

OK..I'm back home... .. So you have the device unplugged.. Then hold down the power button and volume down button( closest to power button ) at the same time...( hold for a min ).. If it starts showing the Samsung animation keep holding until a screen comes up with a box like object on the left and an android on the right..I think its an android on the right..Might be something else, but there will be just two things ( choices on the screen )...If you get this far.. I'll walk you through a factory reset..Or we might just wipe cache first and see if it boots.. Then a factory reset..

You will probably have to do a factory reset, but I want you to tell me what options you have in recovery.. been a while since I seen stock recovery..can't remember ..We'll proceed from there..if the charging animation doesn't come up..let it charge anyway... I need to see where it stands so I can help you proceed correctly.......Just looked at stock recovery..we will have to do a factory reset...

If you need any missing files I can set up a dropbox (which I was thinking of doing anyway)...I have boot images, recovery images, system dumps from early releases, nvflash, boatloader and all the rest. Think the battery drain looks the only option for him at moment.

Since you state that it powers up into apx mode and can't seem to get it to do anything else. I'm afraid you're in a situation I encountered over a year ago. I was unable to find anything to help while only in apx mode. I ended up sending it in for repair. The battery drain method has work for some and I used to point people to the post. It seems that most people having issues similar to yours were not getting any results from it recently.
Hopefully someone does have something that will help you get back out of apx mode.
I wish you the best of luck.

{Solved}I have an Azpen A727 i bought from MicroCenter that I bricked.
I found out the solution to unbrick the tablet. First you need the firmware for the version of Android your A727 came with (Jelly Bean or KitKat) which i will provide the links for or you can request from Azpen (which i did and got a response for in 30min), 2nd you need a flashing tool called PheonixUSBPro and a "key" to flash your firmware on the bricked tablet.
1. Follow the instructions on this page for flashing firmware and downloading PhoenixUSBPro here http://www.azpenpc.com/download/detail.php/id-2.html or use the Backup here https://drive.google.com/folderview...JrLUZEYTFjOVF2ajJISy1pdkVCSTgzVlk&usp=sharing

b. Firmware and "Key" for A727 KitKat (For some reason we have two different versions. If one doesn't work try the other)https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B53yZ1fbVqxJZGx2SDVPcWhsWmM&usp=sharing
Note: If anyone is having trouble with PhoenixUSBPro detecting your tablet try holding down the power button and plugging in your tablet from the micro-USB side then press the power button 10 times. Then Windows should be installing the driver so PhoenixUSBPro should detect it now. It worked for me in Windows 7.
If anyone has any problems let me know . Thank you @viper2110 for providing the community with the KitKat firmware.
bricked as well
Were you able to get the device working again?
I bricked mine messing with it today and am trying to fix it.
Have the stock recovery so far if you still need it let me know. xda wont let me attach for some reason

{Solved}I have an Azpen A727 i bought from MicroCenter that the camera wasnt working so i decided to install a custom ROM on it instead of bringing back to the store. I was able to root it. But once I flashed a custom ClockWorldMod from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2532464 i was bricked.
I found out the solution to unbrick the tablet. First you need the firmware which i will provide the link for or you can request from Azpen (which i did and got a response for in 30min), 2nd you need a flashing tool called PheonixUSBPro and a "key" to flash your firmware on the bricked tablet.
1. Follow the instructions on this page for flashing firmware and downloading PhoenixUSBPro http://www.azpenpc.com/download/detail.php/id-2.html

Im pretty sure LiveSuit wont work on the A727 because the CPU is different. The A727 uses an Allwinner thats why we have to use PhoenixUSBPro. Sorry for my late response I dont have internet anymore so I got lucky today getting online, lol.

Yeah, sorry I was using PhoenixUSBPro, guilty of not mentioning that.
Anyone else have any luck unbricking the A727 with this method?
Look what I ran across
SDK for Allwinner CPUs?
Now will this aid in someone creating a Android 4.4 image for an Azpen a1023 or at least a custom CWM or TWRP? for one?
answer soon back.

Question. Frozen after reimage.
Hi all! I was able to reimage my A727 with PhoenixUSBPro and the firmware and key linked in the OP, but when it reboots and comes up to the initial screen, it's frozen. Won't take any input. The only thing I can do is force a shutdown with the power button. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks.

I also have an azpen tablet that comes up with the azpen logo when switching it on and it just stays there.
I did try your solution above but does not work. The device does not seem to be picked up in PhoenixUSBPro.
In windows device manager it did pick up the device as "USB Developer". I instlled the Google drives and now it shows as "Android Composite ADB Interface". But PhoenixUSBPro still does nit pick it up.
Any ideas what else I can try.

Are you holding down the power button and volume down button while plugging in your tablet like Azpen said?
Hello everybody,
I bought the Nabi 2, as refurbished, for my little child and from the beginning I am having problems to turn it on or wake it up from sleep. It is not rooted, has everything stock and I have also applied all available official updates (OTA).
The problem is to turn it on, both from sleep or from powered down state. For example, being in sleep mode (display off) for a few hours, to wake it up I have first to press the power button for about 10 seconds, than release it and press again until... the start up Logo appears, as it was completely shut down! Maybe through pushing the power button first time I turn it off unintentional, so the second time it has to power up and load the OS? But just pushing the power button shortly will not wake it up at all from sleep mode... Is this a known problem and is there a solution for it?
Thanks in advance for each advice!

The only semi known issue I have seen is when you put the tablet to sleep and it's charging. In some instances the tablet will lock up at some point after going to sleep. When you try to wake in up via power button it is locked up. When you hold the power button for 10sec you are hard powering it off and then it reboots. If yours wasn't charging then I haven't read much about anyone having a similar problem.

Thanks for your reply, aicjofs.
In my case it happens always, no matter if charging or not... and it's annoying.
Would rooting and installing a custom ROM solve the problem? If yes, is there a custom ROM dedicated to kids, similar with the stock one?

I'm still struggling with the random problems on my Nabi...
Is it possible to check the integrity and/or health of internal memory, find and mark bad blocks, etc. using a computer (Windows or Linux) connected through USB? If yes, how? Do I need to flash TWRP or something else on the Nabi before?
Thanks in advance for your help.

The latest TWRP should have a section under the wipe menu where you can repair the file system which is probably easiest, although you need to be careful what you are doing in there as it is called the "wipe" tab for a reason. Should be able to go to wipe menu, select data partition checkbox, select change or repair filesystem(don't swipe to wipe, click the words check/repair etc) and select check in the next screen.
To do a filesystem check the partition can not be mounted so you do it from recovery not in Android. Since stock recovery you can't use ADB you pretty much need TWRP one way or another.
If you don't want to use the graphical interface in TWRP you can do it over USB with ADB and use e2fsck on the partitions after unmounting them, but it's going to be doing the same thing you will just see a more verbose version if you do it over adb.
Thanks a lot, aicjofs.
I will try to root and install first TWRP, as my Nabi is still untouched.
One thing I remarked: at the moment, when I go in the (stock) recovery and want to do a "Wipe data/factory reset", 2 lines are displayed before "-- Wipping data...": "E: missing bitmap stage_empty (Code -l)" and "E:missing bitmap stage_fill (Code -l)". After that, the wiping process seems to run normal, as I get the message "Data wipe complete." at the end.
Do you know what that lines are meaning? Could those lines help to debug the main problem ?
Update: NO WAY to get TWRP on my Nabi, regardless how hard I try...
NabiLab 2015 recognize the Nabi without problems, but as soon as I select "Recovery installer", Nabi should reboot-bootloader (I suppose), but hangs at Nabi Logo (the small icon in the middel of screen) forever. Also in Control Panel, the device is shown as ""Fastboot" with the error symbol and the indication that the driver should be installed again (but of course, when I try to do it, Windows tells me that the newest drivers for that device are already installed).
I also tried with using directly adb in a cmd window, with the same result, as soon as I type "adb reboot-bootloader" and press enter.
I am really out of ideas...

The hang with Nabi logo is because the fastboot driver is somehow broke. You will likely have to install it manually. Which driver are you using?
I gave most of the driver options here http://forum.xda-developers.com/nabi-2/general/nabi-information-t3229119

You were right! I've installed the "nacked" driver on a fresh windows 7 and now I have TWRP on my Nabi 2!!! Thanks a lot!!!
Now is there a way to get rid of the freezing problem when I attach the charger while Nabi is on? Right now, if I attach the charger this way, Nabi 2 will freeze completely and only a reboot can get the normal functionality back!?!
Charging the Nabi in "off" state works however...

I dont have Nabi2's anymore but both my kids tablets did the same thing. I never really found a solution. I did buy a cable from Nabi store that has the orange braid covering. It seemed to make a difference, but it still happened from time to time.
Happy New Year!
As I mentioned, I was finally able to install TWRP and did all wiping, cleaning, repairing tasks that were available
After that I flashed the "Nabixus 0.1beta for Nabi 2" ROM which worked very nice.
But... I still have the same problems starting up the Nabi!
When I finally succeed to start it (after many trials), it works well, but if I let it go in standby and wait more that a few minutes, I am not able to wake it up again and I have to do a restart (about 10 sec. hold the Power button down).
What I`m not getting at all: is this a software or a hardware problem? Can my Nabi 2 be repaired after all, or I just have to scrap it?
The last thing I could still think to try would be to repair the partition table through TWRP / Adb / Adb shell. Should I try it? Where can I get a good partition table for my NV7A and, after having it, which commands are required?
... aicjofs, please... help

You can't repair the partition table from adb/TWRP. It's read only. You could through nvflash but I don't think the partition table could possibly cause the issue. I think you are meaning fix super blocks and inodes of the filesystem? Even that is a stretch if it's happening how you describe it but with a try. Did you try repair filesystem like we talked about earlier? If not backup all the data and try a wipe data. That will make sure to blow away and reformat the data partition.
It could be hardware. I know for sure the charging system causes it when plugged in but not about the first boot stuff or when it's not charging.
Thank you aicjofs for your answer,
yes, I did attempt to repair the system, data, cache and it was successfully. I did it several times. I also wiped everything a few times and installed the Nabixus ROM afterwards. Nothing helped. It's like the operating system needs to "get warm" somehow, because I have to try to power on the system many times, until I get it work... but after that, if the Nabi goes in standby, I have to start the whole thing over
How can I check for damaged blocks, etc.? If I can do it and find some, could they be marked as "bad" and isolated? Would it make sense?
