Flash back to 2.3.3 stock ROM and then root via latest version of flashtool. You're permanently unlocked so don't worry. After root, flash doom's kernel/bootmanager via flashtool (unlocked bootloader kernels can only be flashed via flashtool), then flash disired ROM recovery. It's cake bro, trust.
trying right away
Let me know how it goes or if you need assistance.

Do you mean that you can't see any contents of the sd card when you're in recovery?
If so, then remove the battery and eject the micro sd card. My x10 has the same problem periodically because I've dropped it several times. But once you insert the micro sd card pack into its slot, you should be mounted when you turn it back on..

if you have unlocked bootloader then flash the DoomKernel for stock and you will get fully working xrec. then flash the rom you want!

I tried to install JITv2 from xrecovery but it says that the script binary is not compatible with CWM v5 thought it's v2 of JIT...
so anyway to install JIT or a new package compiled compatible with CWM v5?
Thanks..

how do I install cwm via xrec?
Easy, search for the file on this forum (cwmr3 for xrecovery.zip) and install the zip file after rebooting into xrecovery. Have you got xrecovery working now?

the thing is that I got the rom froyobread.v023c installed. And none of xrec or cwm works in that version works, so i dont know what to do..
and i cant get the phone into flash mode(dont know if its my microusb contact that is the problem), so I dont know what to do!
Should i try copy those 3 files in the xrecovery post to system/bin or what? Which files are the dualrecovery files?

I must admit am i not an expert, but why don't you just go back to default Rom via SEUS and then follow the steps to install xrecovery via AAIS+CWM? I am certain this will work.
Use mini rom manager no need to be in xrec to install just dl and find it (cwm) install

Yes of course i would have done that if I could get into flash mode.. and I will test if that works on a friends computer tomorow ( my computer is crap! )
But I just think, what if that doesn't work.. what to do then? Do it work to change the files in system/lib so i can come in to xrec, and then flash another rom?

Hey guys, I'm basically screwed right now. I deleted many major applications from the /system/apps drawer. I am running Mac 10.5 on my laptop currently and I want to know how do I flash a working ClockworkMod.
I know, there are plenty of threads about this, but none gave me a REAL answer.
I'm on a Mac, So I can't ODIN in. It needs to be done on 2.2 Froyo.
Everytime I instal a CWM, It boots into Android Recovery and When I hit "reinstall packages", It doesnt do anything.
Please, tell me how to flash a working cwm recovery so I can flash another ROM stable for my Vibrant.
Try not to send me links, because I've seen them all. but If you think that link is the one, please show me.
Thanks In advace guys.
Did you do a backup before anything?

ok so you can just download the cwm recovery and put it on your sd card and power your phone off then hold volume down and power it should flash the file itself if you cant get to the phone at all other then bootloader try mounting your sd card with another phone or with a micro sd adapter moving the file to the sd and doing what i told you before. that should help..
u might fail signature verification just doing update.zip
i think it should go like :
install odin in windows
flash 2.1
install clockwork
flash whatever u want
cant you use the rom manager from the market to install any fooxx.zip?
Hi, I'm really new to this Android thing and a friend bought a Samsung Galaxy Ace. He's worst than me and doesn't know what a ROM is..
Well, I want to install THIS CyanogenMod but it says the phone needs to be in 2.3.* and my friend's is in 2.2.1.
I searched how to update to 2.3.* and I thought updating to 2.3.3 by flashing THIS VillainROM will work.. and after this ROM, put ClockWorkMod (required by the CM) and flash the CM..
I want to know if this will work or if I'll brick my friend's phone (I prefer bricking my phone rather than my friend's). Hope to hear some reponse soon, thanks!
VillanROM is fine

I'm Not familuar with your Galaxy phone but as it is samsung you should be able to you odin or swupdate to flash any SUPPORTED rom. Also first thing I have done with any phone regardless of manufacture is obtain root then flash recover and lastly flash the rom of your choice.
Not much help but hope it gives some direction
MOST IMPORTANT read extensivly about anything you are considering flashing BEFORE you do it. $500 dollar paper weights are over rated
Well, thanks for help but I have another problem
I connected the phone to Skies and it said a Firmware update was available. I updated the phone and ended with 2.3.4.
I was very happy and thought: "Great! I have 2.3.4 so now I can put the CWM and install the CyanogenMod "
I copied the CWM to the SD and installed it through recovery. When I tried to enter the CWM App it said I needed Superuser acess and the app closes..
I tried using SuperOneClick v2.1.1 and also opening in recovery mode and selecting "install .zip from SD" with a .zip supposed to root 2.3.4 but none of them worked..
What should I do? HELP!

You don't need root. Flash the clockworkmod recovery and you're all set for the final rom flashing.

Recovery mode
"Install zip from SD card" NOT "Install update from SD card"
Select your CyanogenMod zip file
Wait for it to finish
Reboot device
Happy days =)
Make a backup though first!!!!!

Hello,
I'm kind of a newbie at rooting phones. I've upgraded my xperia u to ICS before rooting.
I've unlocked bootloader, rooted the phone successfully & i've also flashed CWM recovery v5.5xx.
I have done a factory reset recently when my mobile was eating up a lot of ram. Does it remove or corrupt CWM? cos i'm unable to access recovery while booting the phone, i'm only getting access into recovery is by flashtool & even then, when i press "install zip from sdcard", it says mounting error & is unable to access the sd card.
What have I done wrong? Am I missing any step towards flashing a kernel or a custom rom?
please help
(I only want to speed up mobile operations, especially camera.)

I found a bat file & installed cwm recovery & its working perfectly. Thank you.
Now, all i need is a custom rom or a speedy kernel to speed up my daily operations (at least other than camera)
Please suggest me a custom rom, I've searched few of them & liked miui but someone commented that whatsapp doesn't work in that custom rom, that app is quite imp for me, so please suggest a rom which is faster than the stock rom & every essential app works.
Thanks in advance
Cheers!

ok, so if i installed miui rom or any other rom & decided that i didn't like it. To come back to stock, do I just have to go to cwm & press restore/advanced restore or do i have to do the same procedure like download the stock rom, put it into sdcard & via cwm install it?
P.S. I've already made a nandroid backup, also from titanium backup & all my data is on my sdcard

If you want to revert back to stock and you have made backup of stock from cwm than just use backup and restore to the same....
If you feel the need to install a fresh copy of stock you can download latest firmware and install using flashtool....

background info:
samsung galaxy s3 i9300. Rooted with cyanogenmod Installer: http://beta.download.cyanogenmod.org/install
A while ago I tried flashing a costum rom, however i wasnt fully satistied so went back to cyanogenmod. My SDcard space went from 11gb to 2gb left. I went to recovery (CWM Touch) and formatted system and sdcard (which was a huge mistake I believe). As far as I know, I have no rom installed right now after the format. Ive downloaded MIUI and put it on my external SD and tried flashing it from my external SD. After wiping dalvik, cache and factory reset flashing went well. When I press reboot device CWM says "root access is missing, root device?" Now there are 2 options: "no" and "yes root device (/system/xbin/su)". Both options result in my phone stuck at the boot animation.
I thought because I had no root, I had to flash a stock rom. So I downloaded a stock rom and tried flashing it. CWM said "installation aborted". So right now Im kind of clueless. Can anyone help me and tell me what to do? Ive been searchin this forum for quite a long time now. Any help would be appreciated.
Kind regards

Which stock rom you installed??
And are you able to flash that miui rom you talking about now??
If it asks fit root just click no.. That's a problem I guess with the recovery not detecting root but you still have it.. just not into your rom by clicking no... then if you don't have root you can flash a supersu file through recovery..

Yes, unless it is a repackaged stock rom you must use odin, not CWM to flash it. You could try using archie's rom or one of Wanam's in CWM. Or download a repacked stock that is flashable in CWM.
