Request is in the title - the LG Optimus One from Orange UK contains the Orange Signal Boost (UMA) software that would be useful to get working on other android phones with networks which support UMA. The topic is here but I've cross-posted here in case the topic gets lost in the general forum.
Here you go, This should be the original Orange V10C_00 firmware for your phone:
Code:
csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/swdata/WEBSW/LGP500/AORUBK/V10c_00/V10C_00.kdz
I was thinking maybe someone with the Optimus One could just backup the apk for Orange Signal Boost and post that. I have tried expanding the rom posted in the link and have got as far as the mbn files and boot.img etc but I don't know how to get at the apk's...
Bump
Could any owner of optimus one share that app with us ?
please
Again, please anyone! We just need a backup of the apk to get started!

Ok, I managed to unpack the KDZ file but still couldn't find a way extract the Orange Signal Booster apk from boot.img file; so if anyone has backup of the apk it would be greatly appreciated.
I tried the same thing but had no luck. If you had the handset you could use a number of different apps (astro, titanium backup) to make a backup of the .apk file with very little technical knowledge.
It would be god send if we could get this app running on other handsets...
Here is the APK!
OK here is the APK which I have extracted from the ROM image. I tried installing it on my desire and it FCs as soon as I attempt to run it. If anyone else wants to get onboard with this please do!
Hi ballandbiscuit, many thanks for the APK. Tried it on my HTC DHD and had the same FC result as you. As far as I can tell, this is not a hardware restriction but possibly the result of other system services required by the app not installed on the handset.
I really wish someone from Orange with a bit of technical knowhow would get involved and assist us with this much needed feature.
what about some kind of logging? maybe it say something...

Having looked at some other posts regarding the T-Mobile US UMA app, which is also Kineto based I think it will take a lot of work to get this functioning. It appears to need some libraries such as...
libkento
linganril
librilswitch
and also some changes to the kernel as per this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=807116
I don't know if this was ever ported to devices other than the N1. It is shame that it requires more than just an app. Orange should be pushing this to all Android handsets. I don't use my phone at home for calls or texts because the signal is too weak, this is a loss for both myself and Orange because they don't get to charge me for calls I don't make. My wife has a Vodafone Sure Signal box which is brilliant but Orange don't offer such a device...
Okay, I just had a little luck with the UMA application.
Not quite there yet though.
BASICALLY, I have come to understand that the application extracted from various Roms FC cuz they are missing other files they depend on from the ROM.
I was using Orange Signal Boost apk from the Orange Desire S rom (am attaching it) on my HTC Legend.
Then I came across stories of someone in US who had extracted an apk from so Tmobile Rom for wifi calling and made it to work on a Nexus 1. I downloaded that files (also attached). This file was a modded version of original apk and had all the dependant files. (and consequently was 3mb vs 600kb of Orange signal boost)
So what I tried was
1. Install tmobile wifi app
2. Install Orange signal boost on TOP of it. It will ask you that this progam will replace another older program on your phone. Clcik okay.
3. What this does is leave old installed files needed from tmobile app and this time LO AND BEHOLD, signal boost app launches without FC
Here comes the problem though, it doesnt work, cuz somewhere hardcoded in the files that the tmobile app installs is the network info and naturally, our sims being orange are recognized as invalid sim.
Me and a LOT of other people would REALLY appreciate it if someone with any knowhow can look at this and figure it out for us
The latest version of the Netflix android app (1.2.1) seems to work fine on any 2.3 vibrant roms out of the box, no mods needed!
The previous tutorial is now obsolete, all you need to do is install any 2.3 rom and Netflix should work directly from the market, or you can download it here: http://bit.ly/mA0ar0. Enjoy. Btw, from my personal experience, I have yet to find a 2.2 rom where Netflix actually works, but this shouldn't be a problem if you install a ginger-rom or wait for the official sammy 2.3 update (if it ever happens lmao).
Reserved for OP
And another update uninstalled flash all together and it still works fine.. also i don't think it was a data toggle that helped but more locking the device and really unlocking but i think that's just because I'm running miui! And thanks for the props!!! much appreciated...

By unlocking the device you mean, actually pressing the lock button on the side of the phone and unlocking it? I know, stupid questions, but I wasn't sure lol. And no problem on the credit or the tutorial, it was the least I could for the guy who discovered how to get netflix running on the Vib!
works!
I did what the tutorial said on my vibrant running simply honey 3.3 update 1. at first i got all the weird color lines on my phone then i toggled data and air plane mode off and on and it worked...i subscribed to netflix, only 7.99$ not too bad. super clear video, im loving it..

awesome good to know.
Build.prop: This isn't the galaxy s your looking for
Netflix: oh okay.
Edit: got it installed, and it isn't telling me wrong device. But when I log in it flashes white the exits out.. updating flash to see if that helps.

very nice reference my friend, very nice indeed lmao.
It's not complaining about the device type but once I log in it dumps out of the program. Any ideas?

I get the same thing with the Bionix-v 1.3.2.
I sure that there will be some work around soon. I am so happy that this app was finally released.

forgot to mention you need to flash a gingerbread rom for this to actually work, sorry my bad.
I'm flashing CyanogenMod now to see if it'll work there. I just finished editing the build.prop I'm rebooting after Dalvik cache wipe.. takes a while

Figured as much.
I wonder what the Nexus One (running 2.2) has that Vibrant 2.2 doesn't.... hmmmmm
Didn't Google add a DRM framework into GB?? Makes sense that it wouldn't work without that framework.

Sorry in advance if post is not belongs to this forum..
I try to make android java app that uses webkit browser component but in slight different way. My primary goal is to modify the webkit WebViewCore java class method so my android application uses my own WebView which derived from modified WebViewCore and acts as I wish. The problel is that WebViewCore and entire bunch of related classes is not part of public SDK.
So far I tried:
- replaced android.jar from SDK in my project with "full" version (framework.jar)
- copied entire webkit java classes from Android OS to my project and modified the method as I need.
- included in lib/armeabi the libwebcore.so and libchrome_net.so (these I grabbed from rooted phone which I gonna to use for experiments)
- compiled and created apk file with libs included (in the code java layer calls my own libs using System.loadLibrary(..))
- application crashes on launch on device with:

Maybe I am completely in a wrong direction?
What should I do for making my own independent version of webkit, so I can install it with my application on specific phone without breaking other apps (browsers) behaviour?
*bump*
hey, i'm getting stuck at the same...
in addition i changed all class-names (to match the classnames in my android-project) for registration of nativemethods in the jni-part of the webkit-source. i.e. all native registrations pointing to android/webkit/ are now pointing to my own webkit-package com/webkittest/webkit/
but i still get the same error like you
did you manage to get the lib run in your own app ?

......it works!
do not trust the classloader logcat output "Trying to load lib /data/data/com.example.webkittest/lib/libwebcore.so 0x411e3e78" because it actualliy searches in /system/lib/ first! .. so everytime the system's lib got loaded.

CM11 W03Tweaks v1.01 - 20 nov 2013
- Boosted headphone volume. Let's say our hardware capability is 0db, stock CM value was -7db, and our new value is +3db. So +10db boost. Note at full volume you might get a bit of audio clipping if your music is loud and well peaked, just take it down a notch
CM11 W03Tweaks v1.00 - 16 nov 2013
- Simplified multi-core handling
- Tweaks to PegasusQ governor, for optimal speed and battery
- ROW default CPU scheduler
- Seeder entropy generator, to replenish the pool of random data need by the UI
- Disabled gentle-fair sleepers = better deep sleep
- AFTR+LPA sleep mode = better deep sleep
- 2048kb storage read-ahead = better sd cards performance
- Fixed Android 4.3+ possible battery drain related to gsiff_daemon
- Built-in ad-block host file
- Optimised gps.conf = more solid and faster GPS lock
- OTA android 4.4 media sounds (ringtones, alarms, notif, etc.)
- Samsung Note 2 media sounds
- Greater virtual memory values for our big 2gb RAM
- Slower wifi scan = better battery
- Other deep sleep tweaks
- Disabled useless error-checking (logcat still works)
- Optimized mobile data connection (TCP buffers and fixed radio settings)
- Enabled AMR wideband calls for carriers that supports it
- Replaced Dialer and Telephony icon with Google OTA icons

Nice. "Soft buttons light" from the play store successfully disable capacitive lights.. And I can enable nav bar via build.prop and edit a file to disable the buttons as well. Loving it

You are a machine Bro.
If anyone is interested these Mods work with CM11 nightlies.

This will mod the battery percentage and the clock. Using the Deodex versions works with CM11.

These inverted apps work as well. Hangouts works fantastically.

And if you want come cool transition effects these work. Just make sure you have busybox installed before you flash.
I tested it, almost work fine but I changed runtime into ART, superuser denies ALL requests. Now I'm using SuperSU and Ignoring CM root access.

That installed perfectly on N7105 in the UK.
Quick install and very snappy when installed.
Everything seems to be working so far, network, wifi, camera, Play Store.
I'll continue to test, but so far so good - thank you very much!!

Rom works well generally.
I have art selected, and most apps are running well. Titanium backup doesn't work though, it crashes at start.

It's one of a few apps that just like ART sadly. Hopefully with a few app updates and even Rom updates, these little issues will be ironed out.
Hi - all installed ok but ive got no radio - wiped everything and used the latest version of CWM - also tried a radio update from the other page....im obviously missing something - otherwise great. Cheers
Wow. This ROM is flying even without art. Thanks for building Dev! Really impressive and smooth.

I'm getting fc from the Android Keyboard (AOSP). I just dirty flashed the 17 Nov build and new tweaks package and cleared cache. I have the Google keyboard installed so it is annoying but not fatal. I'll try and pull a logcat if I can.

On CWM 6.0.4.3, No DATA
deleted
No Signal/Modem
Wiped all and installed with latest CWM but no signal. Anything else, super nice!
Redo CWM upgrade and wipes, installed. Everything ok now.
Anyway, trying to re-install other ROM at this moment. But after wiped+installed, Play/Hangout...etc all don't work. No prompt for google account log in as usual processes. Anyone can advise?
No LTE/4G signal but 2G/3G is fine. Thanks for the Super smooth rom. Very Nice.
Hello all
I am having some trouble with SDK installing apps to my Android. I've tried to find many forums about my issue, but I've hit a brick wall every time. My rooted device is an LG Optimus C running Android 2.2 (ancient lol). My issue is that I'm getting the error: Failure [INSTALL_FAILED_DEXOPT] for every app I try to install. I've wiped the device twice and then found out that this error happens every time after I've installed a good amount of apps...which I read somewhere that this will happen because of not having enough space in Dalvik..or in the data area and won't allow the install to write anything else..correct me if I'm wrong on this I've also cleared all caches multiple times, including Dalvik.
I've also tried the work around where you try and skip that all together and put the app straight into /system /app. That came up with no resolution, even with the correct properties selected (read/write/execute etc). So now, I really have no other avenues left but to come here and ask.
Here is the Logcat results I get using adb install -r app.apk no matter what app it is. I will use tumblog.apk (compatible with device) for this example:
D/AndroidRuntime( 4201):

I really have no clue what any of this means lol...pretty new to logcat. I am aware of the file name not matching the original name of the apk..shouldn't matter considering I've installed many apps with shortened names. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
EDIT: Looks like "E/dalvikvm( 4211): Zip inflate: write failed: No space left on device" is the problem. Not enough space in Dalvik. Still have no idea how to work around.
Bump
Is this not posted in the correct forum? I'm just guessing no one knows of a solution?

Sizin sorununuz apk~classes.dex~.smali dosyalarının içinde gereksiz kodları siliniz. "Ayrıca Facebook klasörünü bulup siliniz (her clasess.dex'te bulunmaz)" ayrıca kimi classes.dex boyutu 9MB iken yükleniyor bazı clasess.dex dosyaları ise 7,8*MB olunca yüklenmiyor. Tabikide kodlar içinde dexOpt= dex options ayarı vardır ama ben bulamadım sadece bunları biliyorum. Umarım çözüm bulan çıkar. TR
