1% battery mod - Motorola Droid X2

I did some Googling and searched the thread but i didn't find anything.
Is there a mod for 1% battery increments for the stock rooted 2.3.4 x2?
I've found them for other phones and built into rom's but what about stock rooted?
Sent from my DROID X2 using Tapatalk

1) wrong section
2) check out UOT Kitchen. You can customize your own battery symbol how ever you want. And its flushable, just have to upload systemui and framework-res.
Sent from my DROID X2 using XDA App

i have rom toolbox so yes i already can change the battery icon....thats not what i am looking for...i want it to read in 1% increments...stock doesn't....i cant update the icon that is capable of doing that but it'll still just update in the stock increments

This post prolly get moved to Q&A...but anyways the 1%mod is a series of edits somewhere in the framework I believe.
I thought I had seen a flashable version a long while ago but can't find it. It gonna take some digging around to find....good luck

Use UOT Kitchen to make a mod, its easy and customizable.
I could make you one if you want.

That would be much appreciated! I don't need the logo i can change that with rom toolbox. i just need the phone to be able to process the 1% increments...Thanks a lot!!

The program I use to get 1% is Battery Monitor Widget Pro.

(See Attached pic ) Sorry about poor pic quality.
There's a setting in program to set the 1%.

That's a good idea the only thing is u need to be on home screen to see the 1% increments.
Other than that...good idea

Ya thanks for the idea I just want it built into the status bar like all the rom's. I can't believe there isn't something available already to flash to get this...oh well I'm a dev will eventually do it
Sent from my DROID X2 using Tapatalk

Actually you can show on notification bar.
(See Attached) There's a free add on to do this.

True but I'd rather have that not running in the background and don't need additional icon in the bar.....thanks though....I want the current battery icon to just read 1% increments and then I can update the icon with rom toolbox.

I PM'd you a solution.

ok, I'm still an android noob, but I believe the functionality is already there, its not like my prior TP2 that required special drivers.
Hence I think you really could just use UOT to change the existing icon on the bar to the needle gauge type with numbers?
somebody correct me if I'm wrong?

You can use UOT Kitchen to mod everything but status bar and boot animation.
You just have ROM use the right systemui and framework-res apks, otherwise you'll get fcs operantly.
(Sorry about that dude!)

Battery percentage mod

Without having to flash a whole theme.. anyway to just get battery percentage mod on CM7?
I use "battery notifier" its only 55kb in size and requires no permissions, it gives u a little battery icon in notifications and u have the option to place the percent on that little icon I dont think you will be able to mod the actual icon or do much to to the status bar without a flash

Yeah actually i have the same thing, but i hate wasting a spot in the notification bar when there's already a battery gauge available.

Second theme down
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=945548
I already removed the 'theme manager' and all that business. There really isn't any flashable zip like the bar battery floating around? I have it set to always show on my lock screen, but locking and unlocking to see my battery percentage is getting old.... :-/
I figured it would be included in cmparts, but it wasn't. Was there a reason for that?

Really? That's very interesting...it's such a simple improvement. Who wouldn't want to know their battery percentage over just a shaded battery icon? It's practically useless. I can't tell the difference between 50 percent and 30 percent...it looks the same! lol

I'm with you there. I'm not much of a 'theme' guy. If I want something changed, I'll change it..but I'm not one to change everything just so I can have the battery percentage. I had it on the stock mysense rom, so I'll just wait for it to show up in cm7. ....sigh.....one can only hope....

[Q] [REQUEST]Can Someone Port the Smooth Sense Battery % Icon?

Can someone port the Smooth Sense Battery % Icon with the white battery text to the Tbolt??
Gotta get root first. Then a working clockwork recovery will come next before you'll see any mods. Its coming though. Thankfully this phone has a huge developers base.

I was looking for the same. Since we are waiting on root/recovery, I used BatteryTime lite. Puts a little battery percentage in the status bar.
Got Root now let's see the Smooth Sense Icons!
anyone? bueller?
can you link me to the battery you're talking about?
I'm looking at the framework for the basic debloaded ROM and it doesn't have the 137ish images for the battery icon, it's back to only having 20%, 40%, 60%, 80% and 100%, so I don't know how the smooth battery mods would work.
the circle battery works just fine, it definitely has all the required pictures...

I know that this battery is in "The Perfect Storm" rom. I'd ask the dev if he can export just those files as a .zip

Help with editing a battery icon!!

Ok so I wanna start off by saying that I'm not new to flashing roms/kernels/themes however... I have never tried to edit a theme..
I am currently running BAMF 1.5 and I love everything about the rom except the battery percentage icon.. I find myself OCD'ing about the battery drain if I can sit there and watch % by %..
I did attempt this but was not successful.. What I did was downloaded BAMF 1.5_debloated which is totally stock.. went into the framework-res.apk pulled the battery.png's... I then went into the framework-res.apk of BAMF 1.5, deleted the battery icons 0-100 (1%-100%), and replaced them with the png files that do no have a battery % on them. saved the framework-res.apk and then basically placed it back in the whole rom which i then reflashed.. what i found was that while the phone was charging it looked fine (did not edit these icons) but once i removed the charger the battery icon just dissapeared..
to make it a bit easier to follow.. essentially i grab the battery png files from one ROMS framework-res.apk and replaced another ROMS framework-res.apk battery pngs with them..
my question is basically, am i even close to accomplishing my goal or am i waaaayyyy off??
thanks in advance!

Any idea of any good tutorials for editing this? All the guides I found were for creating a whole theme and although I'm pretty computer literate.. That seems to be way over my head

2 options:
you will have to decompile the the apk using apk manager or the like. or you can cheat and take a xml from a rom that is completely stock and replace it in your modded apk. and throw it back in the rom and flash

Part of the reason is that the stock ROM doesn't have 100 battery icons.
Another option would be to replace the icons with a set that don't have the numbers on them.
I personally don't care for the numbers either, that's one of the first things I change.

If you deleted the battery icons and then put the battery icons from a stock ROM then you don't have all of the icons.
The stock ROM doesn't have 100 battery icons.
It goes like: 10, 20, 40, 60, 80, 100
Or something similar.
Open your edited apk and double check your numbers.
Other than that, did you use 7zip or winzip?

I have been searching all over and cannot find any!
I am looking for a flashable. Zip to change my battery to show percentages (1% would be phat but 10% is awsome too!)
I have a droid 2 running gb2.3.3-rooted and deodexed (as I am waiting for a stable build of liberty-gb)

Actually thats very dangerous. Because stock 2.3.3 reports only 10% increments, if you use rom toolbox you will mess stuff up.
Yeaha. I already did it when i not ever found ICS. It run good.
The Toolbox will backup your resource file first then modify your resource.
With the 10%, it notice and will ignore or replace by it way. But run good.

[Q] Circle Battery

Does anyone know if its possible to get the circle battery mod (circle with percentage in the notification bar) on our GSIIs? Already missing that from my Captivate.
I'm not sure on the mod, I was hoping for the same kind of thing coming from my rooted captivate. However, if you download an app on the marketplace called "Battery Solo Widget," it allows you to have a widget on your desktop showing what you are looking for. That's what I'm using for now.

It's possible. You just need root and you can change it yourself (by modifying the framework-res apk and replacing the existing one with root explorer, or the like) if you have the icons (or with UOT - you'll need CWM for this method obviously).
