Are there any apps out there that are known to make the photon unresponsive? Mine is rooted, locked and stock. My phone will just lock up for 30 seconds or more. When trying to start an app nothing will happen for long periods until they finally starting. Also when typing in the browser, often the browser will just shut down while I am typing. Any ideas appreciated

you might try a battery pull, or a factory reset. has this started after you installed anything new? try a factory reset but dont install any programs and let it sync and run for a day or so to see if the problem persists. if it does, try unrooting back to 100% stock and see if the issue is still there.

I have a similar experience. From time to time, when I type, the letters appear in the keyboard app but not actually in the field in which I'd like to to type. And when this is happening, I am also not able to call ANYONE! I must reboot and sometimes do a battery pull to get things back in order. NOT COOL! What if I am in trouble and need to make a quick phone call? It might be too late by the time I pull out the battery and restart.
Actually the entire app (browser) closes while typing.
I removed a few suspect apps and it seems to have calmed down.......
Will see how it goes. I hate to have to nuke the whole phone and start over

happens to me too... even when doing a "fast reboot" it doesn't necessarily fix it either... doing that along with actually turning off and on seems to do it...
I am starting to suspect the car dock app. The phone starts acting up after I have used the dock

My phone randomly rebooted 7 times today and I don't even own a car dock! I cannot find the source of the problem(s). Btw, this is my 2nd phone for the same reasons. I haven't even put all of my apps back on it yet. I may do another reset to see what happens.

Ok, so is anyone else having any of these problems:
- When using camera, screen turns off and on when it tries to focus.
- Receiving SMS issues until reboot.
- Issues going from 4G to 3G, or 3G to or from WiFi, or 4G to WiFi.
- Screen responsiveness issues.
- Random rebooting.
- GPS issues.
Most problems are resolved after a reboot but then come back progressively as I use the phone. I'm rebooting 3-4 times per day. I thought this was Android, not BlackBerry...
I'm not rooted and have already factory reset like 2 or 3 times. My Dinc didn't even have this many problems. :/

Also, when listening to music for a certain amount of time, it just stops and then phone becomes unresponsive till reboot. Not sure if that is a PowerAMP issue or not.

Try flashing an update.zip rom of your device using recovery mode. Might need root. Depends on devices though. Mg N1 works without rooting.

Where would I be able to get that? And how do I boot into recovery? My Incredible was rooted and before the last update, it was power and volume down. Then after the update, it changed to power and volume up.
Also, I did reboot my phone and my camera still doesn't work. I'm going to try to clear the data from the application manager
UPDATE: Clearing data from camera didn't have an effect

I guess you should Google for the steps to go into recovery for Incredible... not familiar with it.
For the rom go search your build number on XDA. You can use custom ones too I guess.
But sometimes it goes 'signature verification failed. Action aborted'. Ask senior members for that. I cannot solve it.

What kind of screen responsiveness issues are you having? Mine seems to "slow" down a lot after a day and a half of uptime, a reboot fixes it but it's annoying to have to reboot that often just because the touch input slows down so much I can't use the phone.
i've been having an issue since CM7 build 5 and now with build 6 where my softkeys stop functioning when i go into my emails and i have to turn the screen off and then back on again prior to being able to hit the back button to get out of my email. has anyone else had this issue or know away to avoid having this happen in the future?
TYIA
+1... I too have been having this issue on cm7 but not just in the email application. In pretty much any application the 4 soft keys stop functioning and don't allow me to use them so I too have to shut the screen off and turn it back on for them to work. This is my biggest issue with cm7 as everything else seems to be working flawlessly and I would really appreciate any insight into this matter as well.

I've been having the same problem a lot too. It tends to happen with Handcent most often. I can't tell what's causing it either.
I started having this issue, but only after I enabled the "press menu key to unlock" option. Did you guys also do this?
No, my menu key isn't set to unlock the device, and I have found it happening in more and more applications.
Wondering if there's a setting that I just need to turn off or on to stop it.

Hello!
First, let me please say that I am entirely new to the Android world (former iPhone owner). I absolutely love having a phone that runs on the Android system, but it is quite the adjustment! I'm slowly learning... or trying to.
A notification stating "Connected to Multimedia Station - multimedia station is currently connected" appeared on my phone. When this appeared, my phone was not connected to any other source. I am unable to exit out of this notification. Since it appeared, many aspects of my phone have changed and/or are not working. When the notification appeared, it altered my lock screen, home screen, and icons. Many apps will not open, and I receive an error message when I attempt to open them. In addition, my app store will no longer work. I cannot download any apps or make any updates. I receive error messages with those as well, and then the program force closes.
So, I guess my question is this: What in the world happened?? How do I exit out of this notification/program that randomly connected, and restore my phone to how it was previously?
Ok, so that's more than one question. I appreciate any and all assistance!
Ok, that even confuses me. Whenever it happened, do you by chance remember what you were doing? Plug it in to your comp? The wall? Anything? Have you tried rebooting or pulling the battery?

I actually was not using my phone when it appeared. My phone was simply on my work desk. When I had a moment, I picked up my phone to use it, and noticed what had happened. It was not plugged in to any source. I have not tried rebooting or pulling the battery... which seems like common sense to try, I'm sure, but I was afraid of messing it up even more! Just being cautious!
I would try to reboot and if you are unable to, then I would pull the battery.
Also, welcome to XDA and thanks for the thanks Make sure you hit the thanks button for those like the poster above me whenever someone helps you out. You're limited to only 8 thanks per day, so use them wisely

Hello! It's taken me quite some time to find my way here; have been reading and gathering questions/thoughts for some time on threads in which I am not permitted to post...I guess this initial foray is in this location because I too have been getting this "Connected to Multimedia Station" notification and see no resolution tothe issue - It has happened several times at work usually at a consistent time/location-- turning wifi/BT off does not resolve as doesn't Airplane mode- rebooting fixes it fine--yet inquiring minds need to know!

I, too, wish I knew from where this notification came. Rebooting does fix it, but only temporarily. The notification would appear again in only a matter of days. I have since installed a new rom, and I have not seen the notification since. Wonder if backing up the phone then wiping the cache would do the trick for good... but still, I also want to know why it happened in the first place!

I am using liberty rom and I have had that problem on this rom only. I find it happens when I have had my phone on for days straight. A simple reboot fixes it And makes my phone run faster. Nothing I have found works even freezing in titanium. Just reboot

I've had my phone since about December or January, I have not rooted, the only thing I have done is uninstall the updates to some bloatware to try to prolong my battery life. I noticed this particular problem in February, but ignored it, now it is getting worse. What happens is, while I'm texting, I will be typing text but nothing shows up in the text box. I can see the suggestions pop up, but nothing shows in the box. I can delete and it shows on the suggestion box that I'm deleting text, but nothing shows in the box. After a little while of messing with it, it finally decides to act right and I can text again until the next time it happens. I'm at a loss as to what is going on. Is it software? I'm on the Verizon network in a non 4G area.
Yeah that's what happened to me alot before I rooted my Inspire 4g try clearing the cache on the keyboard that worked for me or u can use SwiftKey or go keyboard or another keyboard replacement

I know that puts off my 4G issues for a bit when I restart the phone. It may help this as well.
Mine does that too. But for me it ends with the keyboard applications force closing.

Yes, I've restarted when it happens, usually fixes the issue but only for a short time, it seems to happen at random. I'll try installing a new keyboard, but is this a software issue I'm guessing? Also, how do you clear the keyboard cache? I keep my normal cache clear of things I don't need regularly, but have never cleared a keyboard cache before.
I know the guys will get "mad" at me for saying this but same here, but with a 4G issue I have been having.( I am not trying to piss you guys off ok)
Yes try and install a new keyboard. If that does not work, try clearing the "data" on Swype.
update
After calling Verizon we ended up doing a factory reset on my phone. So far so good, but if it does it again they said they would have to replace my phone.
That happens to me a lot. Only in the text messaging app, though. I just close the texting app and open it up again and it usually fixes itself.
Verizon actually replaced my razr for this reason also my screen was unresponsive at times. Now replacing this razr for same unresponsive screen at times

All of a sudden my phone is taking very long to load a web page if it'll load at all. The load bar will move a little bit and than it'll actually go backwards and just sit there. Even some of my data apps won't open. I've do e several reboots, sometimes it'll be OK but for the most part nothing loads. I did get a security popup when I was reading a DIYS article but I ignored it. I've done a scan but it came up clean...any ideas??

Well I just realized that my girlfriends stock note is doing the same thing, not loading anything. I use my WiFi at home and I've rest my modem and router...still not luck. Some data requires apps seem fine, like the forum and Facebook, took me a few attempts to install an app a few minutes ago. Odd.

A reset of the house modem will help I'm sure, and of course the network may be undergoing a maintenance phase etcetera.
Either way, the report appears to be a service issue, and not device related...g
Perhaps clear the browser cache.
I did everything last night and nothing worked but when I woke up it seemed fine...odd.
