So i like monitering my Task Manager to see which apps use the most RAM/CPU. I frequently see Handcent up to 10/15% CPU usage. As a moderate texter, do you think i should add Handcent to the auto-end list and risk missing text notifications, or should I deal with the CPU usage?

I keep it running and use rom tool box to lower CPU sliders down through out the day, then raise it to show it off to people haha
But then again I always have my phone plugged in when I'm by an outlet.

When I check partial wake lock from betterbatterystats 0.9, there're 2 service that makes phone awake the most:
Event log service (google service)
Alarm manager. I tried dumpsys alarm and found out the service: vending.force_update_checking that runs the most.
What are 2 services, how can i disable them so the battery can last longer?
I'm using CM7.1 with faux123 1Ghz kernel.
Tks.

You can freeze updater in a program like titanium backup. I froze most Google apps and got much better battery life.

Disable background data. A quick search would reveal multiple threads on the topic and that Juice Defender can do this for you and will restore your battery life.
I got lots of wakelocks and alarm manager CPU use with juice def. But I'll try it again soon.
I freezed some google and market updater already. However, there're still 7% of event log servvice.
Are there any command like dumpsys event or something like that to analize the event log service?

Type these into terminal app:
su
cd /sdcard
dumpsys alarm > AlarmDump.txt

is there a simple app to keep track of the amount of time its been since you last plugged the phone into an outlet?
just want to know how long my phones been running on battery
i know the phone has a stock battery info on gingerbread but i can have my phone plugged in and it still says running on battery, and you have to pay attention to the lil dots underneath to figure out how long actually its been running on battery
i was using battery snap, which had that option, but according to system panel app, it was drawing way too much CPU/battery
any simple suggestions?
Drainguard. Loads of extra info.
Battery widget.

Is there an app that will allow you to schedule when to kill a constant running app? Words with friends used to allow you to turn off the notifications but its no longer an option. I have heard on the Razr Max you can schedule when to kill an app after a certain set time. Any options? Thanks!
Android will do it automatically. If it's not creating a wake lock the it's not hurting anything. Apps like those burn up the battery more than they help. The task killer built into android will kill it once it needs the extra memory.

That's the reason I'm looking for something to stop it. I knew the phone will take care of it when it needs to but its more for my battery then anything else.

Try advanced task killer. You can set it up to kill at scheduled intervals.

I set my min free values on my phone so that it would be more aggressive in killing apps. But I don't want to kill juice defender when I hit kill all. Is there a way to make HTC task killer on sense 4 to avoid killing the app or setting juice defenders oom values lower?

I dont think so but you could use SystemPanel which allows you to exclude the apps you want, so they wont be killed. Actually SystemPanel offers you a section called "Help" where you can read about Android as OS and how it is made and why it is actually bad to kill app via task manager apps and when to use them.
Hey Guys, I was looking in the power section in settings and saw that "Screen" was using 64% of the battery. I have had It go from 40% to 80%. I was just wondering if this is normal, and is this the power the display is using or something else. I am urgent to know. Does anyone else have similar stats to this in their Power section of settings on a HTC Desire X.
Thanks,
Joe
That's a huge battery drain
I have this drain when I have 100 %brightness and all animations on. Now i have around 30-40 % screen usage (25% brightness and no animations)

What apps are you using and what did you use it for the most?
Sent from my HTC Desire X using xda app-developers app
I use the Phone App, Messages, Bad Piggies and occasionally Temple Run 2. On my home screen I use the stock HTC launcher with 1 BeautifulWidgets Widget and a few shortcuts.

64% doesn't mean your screen is using too much, it just means you don't use a lot of other apps. It's in percentage, not amount of energy used.
If you would have two apps both using 20% of the battery, and nothing else, your screen would be 60%. If you have five apps all taking up 15%, your screen would be 25%.
I mean, my screen takes up 70% now, and that doesn't have anything to do with brightness, cause it's set as low as possible. It's just affected by the amount of apps running.
