Hi,
Do we still need to load the database filling up fix with the new O2 XDA2 ROM release?
Thanks
Regretably it would appear that we do, and now more so than ever!
Before the upgrade, missed calls did not give me the SCRIP:0x000
events that are referred to in the Check Notofication tools (but I did
use to have a very old radio stack...).
Now I get them, one per call, as expected.
In short, put the utilities in, or regret it!
Cheers,
Dave.
Ummm i dont think your problem is related database filling up fix did you try a hard reset coz so far mine is working fine even under heavy pressure...
i think you have a local problem on your device.
Hello all. I'm not sure if this has been posted here, but thought I'd post again. I take no credit for this fix. Voice Command works well on my Mogul, running dcd 1.67, but incoming calls were not being announced.
This fixed my problem:

yeah, I found this before but forgot where it was. Thanks for pointing it out again.
Too bad this still doesn't fix the verification prompt issues

UNZIP IT! (winzip, winrar, windows xp uncompress utility)
Disable Voice Command before you attempt this
Overwrite your existing (on your mogul) files from the zip. Make sure you can see hidden/system files
\Windows
VoiceCommand_PPC.cpl
\Program Files\Voice Command\
VoiceCmdRes_PPC.dll
VoiceCommandWMP.dll
voicecmd.exe
Enable voice command.
I need voice announce to work on the T-Mobile Dash 3G
OK. Hi. My name is Chris. I am totally blind. NO seriously I mean it. I have a program on the phone that reads the screen to me called Mobile speak, from www.codefactory.es. Any who, irrelavent as that is, LOL! Basically, here is what I found from talking to HTC. I won't squeel on the lady who told me this, as she said she's not supposed to tell me this, however she felt real bad due to my unique situation with blindness. Basically, the eal is: No matter what phone you use, if it has WM 6.1, this MSVC regardless what hack you use, isn't gonna work with announcing calls. There apparently, was a hotfix that MS did not include in WM 6.1 that was meant to be in there but wasn't. Without this hotfix, htc says hack or not, rom update or not, older/newer version of VC, isn't gonna fix things. They wanna give us the update, but they can't even make it themselves till A, that hotfix is emplemented, or B, W6.5 is released. I can't use the cooked 6.5's as they don't work well with Mobile Speak. Plus the start menu doesn't work period with MSpeak. I got the zip file up here, quit msv, replaced files, restarted, no go no show. still no announcing of calls. She reads everything else fine, but not that. So I present you all with a couple questions. Can I please get the Dash 6.0 version of Windows Mobile from someone with a US Dash 6.0, and put it on here? Yeah 3G won't work any more, and some other things won't either, likely, however, if you all think in theory it would work, I'd be willing to try it. I already unlocked with spl my phone, so, that's all good. If this doesn't work, can you all get me a program as an alternative to VC that will audibly announce calls? I need this as due to my blindness, I can't read the caller ID with MObile speak while phone is ringing as it's drowned out by ring tone. if I turn ringer down, that works except, caller ID only is spoken by MS once, so if I'm outta the room, well, yeah... good luck. you're officially screwed. This unlike you all is not a wanted feature, due to my disability, it's a need, so please! can someone help me. Even if we have to really go a pain in the effin arse's way really round about? I've been reading you all's threads here both related and unrelated to this. Yall're awesome, so surely I say: someone up here's gotta! have some idea. I can't wait for 6.5, then longer for Code Factory to do their magic to get Mobile speak working. I'm sorry, that's just not satisfactory.
Please E-mail me with any help.

Voice Command Call Announce issue
I tried copying the files from the Zip, could only get 3 of the 4 into my phone, made it freeze, had to uninstall and reinstall VC. Still cannot get incoming calls to announce on a newly upgrade ROM.
My old Nokia N95 had a feature that announced via the speaker the name of the person making an incoming call (provided name was in contacts). It was not brilliant and it had difficulty with some names (my friend doug sounded more like dog). However it was a good method of screening calls remotely especially if you are on the top a a ladder! Is this feature available on my HTC HD2 (virgin mobile) ?
New to XDA apologies if this has already been covered
I am sure MS Voice command will do that. You can download the cab from here http://www.energyroms.com/Addons/
ms voice command
Thanks R12srw - does ms vc work out of the box or are there still bugs with it?

jeeem, you will be disappointed to note that there are still bugs reported with MSVC, however you can be glad that it will be announcing the respective incoming caller's names / numbers.
If you havn't installed the .cab yet please note 2 things:
First: during installation, you will be prompted (and WARNED!!!) to install the MSVC on your device instead of the storage card. It actually doesn't matter even if you install it on your storage card instead of device, so install it at your desired location. (I prefer to install it on the card as I am extremely miser to save every bit possible, on the device!!!).
Second: After the installtion, you will be prompted with a WARNING saying the installation was UNsuccessful. This is BUG!!!. Ignore it. Restart and enjoy...

couldn't you just make ringtones of their names with a recording software and then assign that ringtone to the appropriate contact?
when i recieve a call it dosent say the callers name any idea how to fix this.
however the calendar and statues works fine.

Jeeem, MSVC does work, and as I mentioned in my last post to you, you have to install in accordingly. However as you mentioned in your reply, it seems you are not able to get it done, which to me it appears you might not be having teh APPROPRIATE VERSION or the correct .CAB file. Should you wish, I can mail the correct working cab on your email.
Hello,
I think I've tried just about every Rom in the forum and currently on MOAR_S5_Port v5 10-26-14 just because everything works perfect, can force roam and I'm a fan of the Moars setting options. Kit Kat Killer was hard to let go to as well. Anyways I tried Sacs_N4-N3_NEW_12-17-14_V3 yesterday & noticed in the comments you can send a video AS IS rather then the compression kicking in which makes it fuzzy and less quality.. I gave it a shot but couldnt get my messaging to work to send it, (probably because I'm on OC5 insteak of NK4 or NH7), so used email instead. To my surprise sending it via email worked! It does shrink it to send but keeps quality. Couldnt believe it. I know Iphone users dont have this issue but I guess I'm a Android fanboy..
The short version of my question is:
IS there an APK or zip available to flash the compression file similar to whats used in Sacs_N4-N3_NEW_12-17-14_V3 ROM? I'm not sure if any of the s6 roms do this since I didnt try but feel free to let me know. I hate having to upload videos to drop box just to send a video to people. I want to just be able to send as is, (if its short at least).
Thanks!
the call recording voice announcement, is great , but unneeded in countries that dont have that restrictive law.
since i live there, is there a way around it since google wants the world to follow a few local laws that dont apply globally?
anyone know where the sound file is for the voice announcement that could be replaced with a silent file?
or some other hack to remove it?
( ive tried a few apps that claim to do it but they are 3 months old and not working)
(its not in /system/media/audio/)
update
(should be /data_mirror/data_ce/null/0/com.google.android.dialer/files/callrecordingprompt)
so far if the two files in there are deleted then the are recreated on the next call
and if the files are replaced with something else like silent files, recording fails.
( i changed permisions to match the old files, maybe someone has a better way )
anyone know of a up to date hacked dialer or a magisk module or something the whole world is not under the laws of the USA for call recording.

yes i have tried that one, it enabled the menu option but in that menu it said it was not available in my country.
i updated the phone app and now its recording...without the announcement
( i was sure i did that before with a fail)
it pays to try all the options more then once.
