Hi Everybody,
I would like to install the standard samsung keyboard on my CM7.
I see that this is possible in other similiar models like the galaxy mini but I dont know if thats compatible with my Ace and cant find a specific one.
Would anyone help me with this?
Many thanks!
I simply flashed the mini one a few days ago, it works but it has annoying bugs (e.g. gray letter colors instead of black on white keys)

The ICS keyboard is pretty good. Look up the theme in the forums and install it. It's great

I dont know how to remove TouchWiz UI but you can try installing UIs from play store..just make a search and you will find what you need, . I hope that it helps you!
Hey,
can anyone port the Galaxy S3 addon package for Galaxy Nexus to make it compatible with our Defy?
[ADDON] Samsung Galaxy S3 Addon including TouchwizUX [CM9, AOKP, SlimICS]
I flashed the Galaxy Nexus version and basically it worked but the icons are still the same (in settings too), it crashed sometimes.. I think it's not fully compatible with our Defy.
But TouchWiz is very smooth!!
So can anyone do it?
Did you tried the Galaxy S/Nexus S version??
Galaxy Nexus is xhdpi (if i'm not wrong), and our defy is hdpi, so the more situable version might be the Galaxy S/Nexus S one... it could remain unstable tough...
Here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1667051
Just flash it. It's working perfectly!

Yeah it works ! =)

Nandroid backup before you flash it
Nope! It makes a flashable backup zip automatically when you flash!
Just read the "installer messages" in cwm when u flash, and you'll see that it creates a backup zip under "UniversalFlasher" on your sd-card to revert the changes.
...is it only me or didn't it restore Trebucket? :-/

nope
This is crap-ware. The only good thing in the whole pack is the Launcher and it's available outside this pack, too, so I'm totally restoring this automatically created flashable restore.zip hoping that it will work.
Why I hate it? It installed 20 apps. It deleted system ringtones to put it the S3 ones. Can't see why, it's not like they need 6GB of space for that. CM9 ringtones are 10 times better, anyway. Icons are fugly and if those are the actual S3 icons... lol
I just hope this restore.zip will work.
Sorry for the hate speech, but I am pissed

Hi,
Does anyone know if i can get the stock keypad from the i9000 or i9100 on to the S3?
I use the stock Samsung Keypad 3X4, but the one on the S3 is nasty, really miss the T9 button. hate having to keep going into the setting to turn it on and off.
I've used a few alternatives like perfect keyboard pro etc.. they were close, but just not the same.
I've tried porting the stock samsung keyboard (AxT9IME) but it wont open, someone on XDA posted a so called fixed version for the Galaxy Y, porting it using root explorer and changing permitions etc... I tried this but it would open for a second before crashing.
please could someone help

Don't know if anyone has tried, but BPaul made it work on Gingerbread roms for the x10mini, so you can look for it in the development forum, i think there's a link to it in the posts for one of his roms. Move it to system/app on your Galaxy Y, set permissions to 644 (rw-r--r--) with a root explorer and see if it works
Can this be done without rooting?
This Galaxy Y that I am using is not my own, if it was, I would have rooted it the moment I got it
Or can anyone suggest a keypad with big buttons other than the standard?
Hello guys,
Is there any way to install more themes to the phone? Without rooting, using a launcher or custom ROMs etc.
Or the only way to customize the look is to use launcher?
Thanks

Look through this forum for the theme creator and some themes someone updated. You might need root first though.
Yea I checked that thread but the program is in Korean and it didnt really work. And I saw those themes but I didnt really like them.
So the best would be to use a launcher after all? Because I couldnt find any other custom made themes.

Yeah. For this phone I recommend the following...
Holo Launcher HD (Same features as Nova/Apex, lighter on resources)
Launcher 8 (If you have some Metro UI envy, and make sure it's not the QiHang one)
Smart Launcher (Very minimalist and fast, use it for a week and you will be loving it. I stopped using it because it would force close every couple days)
Thanks for the tips
The absolute best launcher is Everything Home (beta), I promise you I have tried them all.....
New to forum, so i'm not able to post a link yet

Check again, there's an English translation patch in the same thread. It still leaves a couple of buttons in Korean but it's easy to see what those buttons are for.
