I managed to cause my statusbar to force close now automatically upon boot when i flashed the transparency patch. I don't know if it was the wrong patch for the CM7 build or what. Unfortunately my nandroid is too old and I'd like to be able to figure out how to get my statusbar back without odin'ing back to stock and starting over from there? Any suggestions. I thought maybe reflashing CM7 hopefully?

Ever since I downloaded this one theme and it didn work, My phone cannot install themes. Every time I install a theme, I will boot up, get force closes that I dont even know what force closes because im stuck on a black screen, and I always have to restore back to my last save. What is up with this.
What rom are you using? That would help out things a lot better
We need more info. We need to know what ROM you are using, what theme you tried flashing, and any other info you can provide. Otherwise, you just have a story for a first post that no one is going to do anything with but read over and move on.
Sounds like dbdata issue. Try adrynalyne's 2.7 fix. He has a tar/odin file in there that will fix your phone.

I have stock eb01 deodexed. Some themes work once I install a theme that gives me force closes, then install another theme over that. I really have gaven up and Dont care anymore. I guess the fix is the re-flash stock eb01 with odin, but im way to lazy
I'm trying to change my lock screen wallpaper but every time i try via the settings i get a force close? Has anyone else encountered this?
I running a rooted KE2 kernel (followed guides on this amazing forum ) and originally changed the wallpaper before i flashed the inseure KDD kernel, rooted and re-flashed the stock KE2 kernel... not sure this would make a difference, just background info
No one getting this issue
Ok so i figured it out for myself
I froze a load of stock Samsung apps including the Gallery... doh!
A quick unfreeze of the gallery and i was merrily changing my lock screen wallpaper with no FCs in sight
thanks for this
As much as I loath asking questions I feel I need to ask one. You don't learn anything having all the answers givin' to you.
Well I have been working with a stock Optimus P509TN the Wi-Fi update one, I have switched Kernals, I have Deodexed it and applied the Dalvick to ram. All works well it seems. But then I install a Gingerbread theme as i much prefer the darker color, using ADB, However on restart i am immediately greeted with the lock screen and a lot of force close. I wipe the data partition and restart and it hangs and i have to restore the nand back up from before applying the theme.
Can anybody explain what happened between point a and point b that I missed, did i forget something when i deodexed, is the theme perhaps not compatible, maybe i should find a theme that is flashable with clockwork?'
edit-used the rom kitchen to edit joemomrom to be flashable in clockwork, made many tweaks for stability but the rom was already almost like i wanted it anyway. Moot point now, but I believe that it was the stock launcher causing it to keep looping at the second boot animation.
Hello, I'm coming along with a wierd problem, I own a SII and flashed a couple roms, now I can't get weather on lockscreen or even change the position of time.
I've done everyting (fixing permissons, restoring stock firmware, flashing another ROMs and nothing works!
Does anyone know what's going on?
Please Help!
I don't think every rom has a lockscreen weather feature.
Or maybe it's just turned off.

My phone when texting on sense 4.0 will force close when i back out of one message to check another. I am currently on bulletproof and it has happened on nightmare as well. The phone was flashed from stock s-off of course to bulletproof. I always go back to stock before flashing. This rom also causes a audio issue sometimes where it will jump in the middle of a song or stop playing and make a loud buzzing then reboot itself.
Any one having the same issues or a solution. Other roms have no issues like this and stock works perfect. Thank you Guys!
you know you don't really have to flash back to stock in order to flash a rom? and you should try fixing permissions once you flash the rom, and to make sure you flashed the rom properly
I dont flash back to stock everytime but i do if i go from CM10 to sense 4 or Miui. Just to keep from left over junk. I always wipe everything but sd card. I flashed one of the color themed messaging apks and It hasnt forced closed yet. Thank you. I will try fixing permisions after install. I tried that when it started acting up and still did it. So maybe it would work after flashing
