XD & SD are 2 different formats and from what I've heard, the Rezound does not support XDHC cards. Sandisk has a 64GB micro SDHC card out, although its $219.

That Sandisk card is actually a SDXC card. I've seen reports that it does work in other Android phones like the Razr, Sensation and some others but have not seen confirmation that it works in the Rezound.
yes it work, just pop the 64gb micro sdxc card in and reformat it

Huh. I wonder why HTC specs that the max SD card size is 32GB, but 64GB cards work.

a lot of times doing firmware updates on devices allows them to accept higher capacity storage devices. for instance my old sandisk sansa mp3 player accepted upto a 4gb microsd card, but once I updated the device it would then take the 32gb from my thunderbolt.
its possible when htc said it can take up to a 32 that at that stage in develooment that could have been the max, or possibly 32 was the biggest size they tested.

Hope you have insurance. That little Rezound in your pocket now has a value in excess of $800. (I'll have to get me one of those 64g cards when the price drops).

Yeah, I understand that updates can allow better compatibility, but it just seems odd considering that the "standard" in Android handset removable storage limits is always spec'd as 32GB in the examples that I've noticed.

Class 6 would be fine. Unless you plan on swapping gigabytes worth of files on a daily basis, a Class 2 or 4 would save you some money. If you have extra cash burning a hole in your pocket, get a Class 6 or 10.

will that even work with the 3d (or anything on the market right now?) its not simply a microsd card, its microsdxc which is a different format and requires the proper reader
Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think their is a device out that will support 64gb card.I believe the evo 3d will only support 32gb card. Anyhow I would wait just to much money for those cards. They will come down in price.
Max capacity is 32 gig. Anything more is out of spec.

There have already been people who bought them and they work in the 3D as long as you format the card with stock ROM.
boom!! from my shooter
can someone who has used one show a pic working, would be great to know. my 20gb of music really fills my 32gb up quickly.

Wrong. That was the case with SDHC. But SDXC is the new version that supports greater than 32GB, and as others mentioned it has been confirmed to be working with a number of Android devices, including the EVO 3D (do a search, as there's a forum member here who bought a 64GB microSDXC card and it works fine).
so whats the limit then?
If 32gb is not the limit, is 64gb definitely the max? I'm asking cause there are 128gb sdxc cards on sale for about $200, will those work? FYI, I checked on amazon/eBay and $200 for a 64gb seems like a ripoff, there's one on sale for $79

Just to confirm information that these are working, since I'm not sure everyone was certain on the prior page in the thread:

Make sure it's MICRO sdxc. I saw SDXC's for sale, but if you go to details and look at the physical size of it, it's not a micro card. I don't think there's a 128 microSDXC yet.

No, 64 GB is not "definitely" the limit. From what I can tell from the spec descriptions I've been able to find, there's no limit on the maximum capacity of card that the phone can handle beyond whatever can be made within the SDXC spec. As it's typically been compliance with the tech spec that limits the card capacity (old devices that couldn't handle beyond 4 GB cards were due to their inability to handle the SDHC spec).
The key here is to understand that we're dealing with microSDXC, and not the full (physical) size SDXC cards.

I bought a SanDisk Mobile Ultra 32GB Class 6 microSDHC-I card from Best Buy on sale for $34.99 with free shipping. I'm still waiting for it to arrive. Now I just read that it may not work with the EVO 3D. Can anyone tell me whether this is true on not? It says it's "compatible with most devices with microSDHC card slots." There is also a review by someone with a Galaxy SII and they say it works fine. I don't know if that means its fine with the EVO 3D or not. I was really looking forward to receiving this card but now I'm afraid of opening it and finding out that it doesn't work and not being able to return it because it's opened.
Here's the link to the product page:

Yeah, the only incompatibility issues would be microsdHC, but the phone runs sdHC cards well. The one it comes with is sdHC.

I started this thread and meant to come back to it to answer that the card does work and it's nice & fast. Things definitely seem to load faster on the phone and files transfer to and from my laptop faster than my SanDisk class 4 8gb card and my SanDisk class 6 16gb card. SanDisk is the only brand I buy when it comes to SD & microSD cards. The Best Buy website said this one was class 6 but its actually a class 10. It says so on the SanDisk packaging. I like the card a lot and I think $35 was a good price.
And yes it does come with an adapter to make it the size of a regular SD card. I never use it though because I don't take the card out of the phone once I put it in.

I just use a charge/sync cable so I don't have to turn my phone off, take it out of the case, take the battery door off, take the battery out, remove the card, use the adapter to put the microSD card in my laptop, transfer files and then put it all back together, all while potentially missing texts because my phone is off. But to each his own, I guess. lol I checked the link I posted and as of last night, the card was on sale for $39.99 and I think it said free shipping. Just a heads up in case you're interested. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I read the limit was 32 GB somewhere.
It should work, because the EVO 3D supports microSDHC up to 32 GB. And there can't be much different to ANY other SDHC card.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
I actually heard they do, you must format it IN the phone, under settings/storage. This is regarding the 64GB one.
FWIW I've used the 32 and have the 64 in my 3d now. Both have worked perfectly fine. With the 64 I formatted in win7 after installing a small util app from the SanDisk website.

It should work. AFAIK, 64gb will even work with older phones like the s2. I think the difference with the s3 is that you can format the microsd card to use exFAT instead, which should be better than fat32 (ex: no more 4gb file limits)

Get it @ Amazon.com

Yeah, I saw that one when I was browsing. It's the "Ultra" version though...transfer speeds are only up to 30MB/s.
I'm sure it's cool for some people, but I've been waiting a long time for the "Extreme" version to drop in price!
Didn't take notice to that. Now I wish I would have bought the 32gb extreme haha nice find, thanks for sharing

That didn't last long...
Yep, back @ $99.99
Just picked up the SDXC Extreme 64gb. Hopefully this one will transfer faster than my other 2.

can the ultra handle 4k recording and best shot ?
You can get the more reliable Samsung 64GB at that price or a little more. I'd not trust my data with Sandisk.

More reliable? That's a personal opinion as SanDisk's products have proven to be reliable as well.
One thing's for certain though, both of Samsung's 64GB microSD cards (1, 2 Reads/Writes @ 70MB/s/20MB/s) are slower than the Sandisk Extreme Plus card @ 80MB/s/50MB/s. With the Note 3's 4K video recording and best shot, the speed of the card is key.
Do the 64 gb sandisk cards need to be formatted?

The Ultras cannot, but I'm not sure if it's the card's fault. It defaults to 1080p when you choose card storage in the camera app. Not sure about the "plus." My guess is no, because it's built into the app to default to 1080p. Unless it's written in the code to allow 4k to be recorded to an external card based on testing the write speed... unlikely...much easier to default it to 1080p.

I agree, sandisk cards are junk.
I have now had three of the 64 gig cards replaced under warranty. I still use one because it was cheap, but I back it up religiously to my LT.

Same here. I have older SanDisk microSD cards in cameras and my kid's gaming devices which I've never had an issue with.
I'm sure tens of thousands of consumers are happy with both Sandisk & Samsung's microSD cards, just as there are plenty of people who will have all sorts of negative things to say about each company. Fact of the matter is that all products have a failure rate. That's just the reality of it. One person's bad experience doesn't set the mark for everyone else's.
Personally, there isn't an individual persuasive enough to deter me from ordering something just because they didn't enjoy it. I buy what best fits my needs.
Edit: Just received mine!
I think the 64 gig sandisk cards are the main ones that have issues.
I have a couple 32 gig sandisk cards that are a couple years old, but I have yet to have a 64 gig last more than 8 months.
After the second one I had went bad, I was googling for info on the 64 gig cards & found a thread about exactly that. In that thread, there where almost 400 responses and at the time over half of the posters had the same experience I had. Of course, people that had bad experiences with a product are more likely to speak out than people that have had no problems at all.
I know when they corrupted, sandisk didn't question the problem at all- they said they knew there had been problems with the product and where replacing them with no questions asked.
The card in my phone now is a 64 gig sandisk. It is about 6 months old and works fine so far, but I make sure I never store anything to it that isn't backed up somewhere else.
Yeah....that class 10 64gb card is regularly $60-70. This was a year ago also. Steal-deal then was that card for $35 on amazon (1 day only deal). That's when I got mine. Hate to break OP's news, but this "deal" is regular price.

No a class 10 extreme 64gb card is still $100. You're thinking of an ultra card. Not extreme. Different speeds
