Where's the HBoot information on flyer? Trying to root. - HTC Flyer, EVO View 4G

Getting ready to root with revolutionary. Where's the hboot version information? the About / Settings doesn't list it. Have the serial ready and waiting to generate a beta key. Do I choose 1.10 or 1.11 in the form?

Turn off the device, then hold Power + volume down. That will boot the boot loader. Version information is displayed.

Thanks a lot!

I noticed I could get into bootloader mode but I read something about take the battery out for a few minutes and after that I couln't get past HTC screen neither get into bootloader mode. I was reading about something called "download mode" brick!!! Am I one...
any help it would be greatly appreciated
thanks
Marcelo
Are you holding power, camera, and reset to enter bootloader?
You said you upgraded the SPL and the Radio...but what ROM are you using? Are you still on a stock ROM?
I tried to get into bootloader with camera + power + reset button with no success. I still have the stock rom in it!!!
Did you hold then all in at the same time for 5 seconds?
Yes I did!
You could try to install a new rom when you get to the htc screen. But I doubt it installs.

My Hero is stuck on HBOOT

After my battery was empty i had to restart my Hero and now it's stuck in HBOOT
I tried already almost everything. I can't go to recovery, only to clearstorage.
I've connected my phone and tried many ways to boot in recovery but my computer doesn't recognize my phone(error: device not found).
When I'm in HBOOT i have two options, simlock and fastboot.
If i press back for fastboot nothing happens, and if i press send for simlock it says open file fail, Reboot device?

Did you install any other ROM aside from the official ROM code?
I installed the Modaco Rom 2 weeks ago, and it worked fine all the time
Damn, I'll guess it's bricked if nobody knows the answer...
Strange, without doing anything...
have you tried booting/flashin the recovery image from fastboot mode?

I guess I also had a similar issue this morning when I was trying to root my phone and it was stuck at 41% while updating ROM. I just did it again after plugging out the USB Cable and running the Ruu.exe and it updated the ROM within 5 mins. I guess in my case it was a case of my Windows getting hung (I was running it within Mac using Parallels), and it just worked after inserting the USB cable again.
Try running the update from another computer (after installing HTC Sync on that ..)
Good luck!
Hi guys, I have exactly the same problem.
One night the volume button would not work. So i rebooted to fix the problem. It rebooted into HBOOT. The screen with the 3 skateboards?
I only get two options
<Back> Fastboot Mode
The back button does not trigger fastboot!!
<Send> Simlock
Doing this only says
FAT32 Init Ok
Open File Fail
Reboot Device?
<Menu> Reset Device
I do so but it reboots directly into hboot again.
It also does a SD card check when it boots up onto this screen, says something like
herodiag.zip
etc etc
and it says not found i think, it goes very fast.
Anyway I am very frustrated. I was using Modacos 3.0. Without many problems.
I have a bad feeling that my phone is bricked.
Any help would be much appreciated.
And yes I have already tried countless combinations of button presses, all still go back to the skateboard screen.

this may sound like a silly comment, but to me it sounds like your VOlume Down button is stuck.
anyone else with a perfectly working hero can try this.
no matter what combination of buttons you press, if you have volume down pressed, it goes into hboot (or it seems to on mine, anyway)
O ok, any idea how I can sort of unstick it?
Seems like a good explanation.
on my cdma hero, following the directions i found online everywhere(hold home and boot) i was getting a HBOOT screen with only an option to erase all settings until i:
1. pop battery
2. reboot while holding vol-down, back arrow and power button
3. this time at the HBOOT screen there is an option to enter recovery mode(i think with a home press) fastboot or simlock
moisture in your HTC hero
It's possible that your 'volume down'-button is stuck because of moisture in you hero. I had the same problem. You have to warm your hero with warm air. CAUTION, make your hero NOT TOO HOT.

[Q] Key sequence for recovery boot for 1.46, 1.47?

Does anyone recall what the key sequences were to direct-boot (from a cold start) into the recovery boot when there is a 1.46 or 1.47 bootloader present on the Eris?
It's been many months since I've had that on my phone - and I can't remember whether the thing that differs from the 1.49.xxxx bootloaders is the initial Vol-Up+End at coldstart, or whether it was a different keystroke combination once the recovery boot splash screen was showing (to get the menu to come up).
????
I can certainly roll back to MR1 or MR2, to test things, but it would save me some trouble if anybody remembers off the top of their head.
(Yes, I am aware that you can get there via the HBOOT menu, and through adb, and through fastboot, and through a shell prompt with a stock HTC OS - I'm looking for the coldstart method)

[Q] Vol Down Key Stuck on S-Off'ed Desire. Warranty void? S-on again?

Hi,
My Desire's Volume Down key is stuck. I can't open the phone, it goes directly into HBOOT menu and Volume Keys are not working in the HBOOT menu to select menu items.
I have still 1 year more warranty. I'll send my device to technical service but it is S-Offed with Revolutionary method, and Supernova Xtreme rom installed which is based on offical HTC Gingerbread rom.
Now my first question in my head is can I send my phone to technical service as it is now? Or do I need to S-On again, unroot or anything more? If I need to do, is there a way to do it, since the Volume Down Key is stuck I can't access to phone.
Thanks

Strange problem, then partial brick while trying to re-flash rom

Was running jellybomb for a few months, nothing has changed recently. This morning I started to notice a static looking colorful screen for a few seconds before the locker showed up. Later in the day, the same static was taking over my status bar. Then static staying on the screen, would take several power cycles befpre I could get to my phone, the displays were completely out of whack, and while the phone seemed to operate and run just fine (according to the sounds & vibration feedback)... the screen would lag behind by about 5 seconds, and remain for the most part, jumbled and static everywhere, making it impossible to do anything.
I backed up my phone, was able to clear cache, dalvic cache, factory reset, etc, I'm s-on so I flashed the kernel (boot.img) via adb fastboot, the phone re-set (don't remember how), and am unable to get into bootloader in order to install the rom. I hit the power and it vibrates and is "on", just a black screen. I cannot get the timing right on doing a simulated battery pull and power + vol. down to get into the bootloader since the screen is not visible. Any other way I can get to boot loader/recovery? I have the SDK installed, can the phone be viewed on my computer? All I need to do is install the rom.
I have TWRP on it BTW.
Anyone suggestions would be greatly appreciated, this one's over my head.
Thanks,
-Mike
****** SOLVED *******
Took it to sprint, the tech said he asked HTC what causes this. They say it is static buildup on the ribbon for the display. They are able to take a strong magnet and run it across the ribbon to fix the problem.
Try holding power button a while longer, do you see the lights on the bottom started to flash? If so release power button and hold volume down.

k, think I got my phone into usb-fastboot. I did the exact same w/ my girls phone and counted the seconds for it to come up, then did the same on my phone.
Now, when I do the command "adb devices" either of the two phones. I was getting "device list attached". I then checked device manager and found "Android USB Devices" and under that "My HTC", but no ADB devices. I tried all the drivers I could find..... latest HTC sync.. updated from the SDK manager, etc. I cannot get adb to connect with the phones. I don't even know where to look, I've been at this for two days now.
Can someone that is far smarter than me please help. $15 paypal to whoever gets my phone back from hell.

k, got the phone connected via adb, and was able to get the phone in recovery (TWRP), however, the screen is just static, so I can only navigate in the dark. I need to find a sure fire way to install the rom. I have a copy of the rom on the external SD, and on the phone. Is there a way I can view my phone's screen with my computer? Or another way of installing the rom using adb, or some other program?
uuuh. So damn frustrating. Someone PLEASE help. I am now just trying to relock bootloader and run RUU to get things back to sanity, but I cannot seem to get fastboot working. I can only be in recovery. I adb reboot-bootloader, give it a few, then press the power button once. Now I should be in fastboot-usb, but I cannot communicate via adb.... What the heck is going on?
You need to list your bootloader details: hboot, baseband, software version, etc. If you are hboot 1.15 or 1.19 I would go to the dirty racun site and follow their instructions through step #11 to get your phone working again. Follow their instructions exactly. Pay attention to step #9 and if you see the failure, use the arrow keys to move up in the cmd window and rerun the ruu. You don't have to continue all the way to s-off if you don't want to, but if you download the appropriate ruu for your current hboot and follow their instructions it will get you back to a working phone and you can go from there.

Thanks, I will check it out if I get stuck again. Me screen gave me just enough where I re-installed the rom, and was able to install drivers for fastboot. I was then able to re-lock the bootloader. I am currently trying to run a RUU to see if that fixes the problem. At the very least, I can take it to sprint and have them deal with it now that it is back to stock.
