Can someone show me how to use the camera zoom function in Unnamed rom v1.3.1, especially now that the interface has changed? Hopefully it's still there.

Pinch to zoom
Haha , that's what I figured. Was hoping for something more intuitive but everything is awesome with the rom, I can't complain.

Great mod, the only thing I would like is allowing shutter button to work with portrait mode.

Can someone pull the apk from j16 for the HD Video Camera? I had j16 but my phone had issues, so I reverted back to stock and rooted and lag fixed and my phone flies, 2200+ quad score, so im loving it. Just curious if someone can pull that from j16
Thanks
Just curious, why dont you just download the rom and pull it?
Not being rude, just asking
I just downloaded bionix j16 rom and there was no HD Camera apk, there was a camera apk and camera firmware, but no where was there a hd camera apk file
That's because the HD Camcorder icon is not an app but rather just a shortcut to video cam activity of the pre-existing camera app that was always there in JFD. Since some folks didn't realize the HD Cam was there, Samsung just made it more prominent. This is how I understood things anyway.
What resolution is HD 720/480 or 1280/720 im using bionix fusion.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
HD is 1280 x 720
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
1280/720 is HD.
Anyone able to pull this apk yet?

You've always had it, it never disappeared.
Long press on home screen>Shortcuts>Activities>Camera>Camcorder
Call it HD Camcorder if it makes you feel better. As long as the resolution of the recording is set to 1280x720 it will record in HD
Thank you I was wanting that back also. I have a one year old girl and it makes it so much easier to have a shortcut for camera and video that I can hit 2 buttons instead of 3 not a great big deal but you know how kids are one second cute and cuddely the next not so.

Small problem... No activites in the shortcut...
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Activities is something that comes with LauncherPro, so if you're not using that you wont see that menu option.
You can download the app "Bettercut" and use it to link to the Camcorder.
Long press home -> Shortcut -> Bettercut -> All Activities -> Camcorder
Hope this helps.

Using ADWLauncher, long press scrren, choose custom shortcut, then you will have activities.
I have "screenshot" app currently installed, works fine but when I post pics on here, they look blurry. Anyone suggest a better app? Thanks!

Any ideas on how I did it?
Nero V3 w/voodoo ....
Hey shoot me app is great, but I need an app that can be compatible to upload through XDA, because I wanna show the new Nero v3 pink theme but I can't upload due to incorrect file format.

They don't always look good when uploading with the phone. If you use the computer to upload they look great.

Did you install the android SDK when you rooted? There is a tool in the tools folder called ddms or something similar. If you plug your phone into your computer and run that tool it will give you an option to take a screen shot at any point. Even in a 3d game.

best app, i'd have to say shootme.
I've seen a lot of people se drocap2 so...
YMMV
Asked the same question in Vibrant Q & A, the responses I recieved persuaded me to stay with the one I was using,,,, Shoot me
Yup shootme user here as well...

Shoot me is the best. The only problem for the originator of this thread is that shoot me takes pictures in png format while xda app only let's you upload in jpg therefore you need to wither use drocap2 like everyone else does who uploads here or find a converter for your pictures on the market if one is out there and convert the picture to jpg. Or you can try to tell the devs to make the xda app compatible with png im sure there not to busy and will stop everything there doing for this request. (Lol. Just had to add a little humor not being a smart a**)

After alot of trial and error, I found that drocap2 suited my needs the best. I hated the shake trigger or timer functionalities of the other apps, the first never worked for me and the second was a pain of unparalleled proportions.... These two options are available for drocap as well, but I use the notification trigger functionality which takes a snapshot way quicker and more reliably then the other approaches. Drocap also lets you select were the snapshots end up which is a bonus as I like to store my images inbthe same directory!

One thing you'll notice about the notification trigger for drocap ia that it always appears in the picture. Another thing after further use you'll notice that it takes pictures fast but for every picture or at least the first one you'll will catch it will say "superuser as granted drocap" dudah ... so yeah and well if your like lots of of here (anal about screenshots) having that notification in the bar is a h**l no... enough said.

Ever since switching to ICS, I have had a small issue with Google Maps. It works fine, except I cannot figure out how to zoom out. It zooms in by double tap, but no +/- shows up to zoom out. Anyone else see this? Or am I having one of those moments?
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using xda premium
Pinch to zoom out.
You're so smart. Me, not so much today. Never even crossed my mind. When did this change?
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using xda premium
I always remember it as pinch to zoom out. I didn't even know it had other ways lol
No idea, but I have always used the pinch method so its just second nature for me.
Please, make fun of me all you want. I'll never close this thread, just as a reminder to myself. I'm not even blonde! (No offense to those of you who are)

You can also pinch to zoom in.

You can also go into the options menu & I think it's under labs & enable the + - icons, as well as other stuff
Does anyone have a good recommendation for a camera that well-supports tap to focus?
I'm usually back and forth between CM9 and CM10 and I use either the stock Camera in Cyanogen or Camera ICS+ and neither of them seem to support tap-to-focus. I can only choose Auto, Infinity, or Macro and can't adjust the focus manually so I've had so much trouble getting pictures of text properly focused.
I just wanted to know if anyone had a recommendation for a solid camera in Jelly Bean/ICS. I know the stock Samsung camera supports it but the application is garbage otherwise and I don't use the stock ROM.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.flavionet.android.camera.pro&feature=more_from_developer
Are you talking about just having it focus in the middle? Tap the screen and it will focus
Or do you mean being able to focus on a certain area of the picture? I want to be able to focus on an area. I believe the touchwiz camera does that but I haven't had a touchwiz rom in a long time......
I did find that camera 360 does it.
Which is an ok app but it's a bit hinky in many regards.
Anyone know of any other apps that do this?
I found this app
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.starvingmind.android.shotcontrol
It has the function (see the yellow squares in the first pic) but they aren't active on my phone. I'm running a AOSP ICS rom.
I'm wondering if it works on a touchwiz ICS ROM?
I suppose the odds are slim someone has the app and is on one of those roms.
I guess I'll flash one and quickly see and report back.
Shot control ita the best professional camera app out there

Any idea why the touchwiz camera can do the focus but shot control can't. I sent the developer the configuration and it says those are turned off.

I am looking forward to buying a camera app called Camera Zoom FX (which looks really attractive by the way) , but I saw a lot of free one's and there are several mods here also so I would like to take an opinion, is it worth it? Or is there some other app free or even better than that?
Note: I actually like the several extra features given, especially "Burst Shot".
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
Hmm no replies so I guess not many people tried this, well fear not I am using it now and it makes the stock camera app look ugly, the burst shot, stable shot modes are amazing and it has a super zoom feature control. Fully recommended.
