I tried to replace the droid3 camera apk hack under themes and app section
When i replace it with root explorer it doesnt work?
Am i reading correct that u must deodex the whole system first because stock photon cam apk has a odex apk, Are we supposed to delete stock cam and odex apk file before applying the droid3 apk?

yeah i deodexed my system and tried everything to get it to work and nothing...even lost my original camera apk and tried to flash some alternatives and they didnt work at all, but i realized i could just replace the original deodexed file saved on my sd card from the transformation and got stock back but id like to know an alternative or get the droid 3 to work.

Hi
I used Sgs tools to do a camera hack and now my camera is screwed always force closes...
I have my old cmeras apk but I can't install it wouldn't let me.
Do I have to uninstall the order camera so I can install this?
And how?

If you can mount your sd card to your computer, then go to /system/app these are your system file apps. You can manually put the .apk file in there, but then you have to use something like Androzip to actually install (just finding it in /system/app and clicking on it will install it, or use the default Files app.)
Duddeee! Thanks in did what you said but with root explorer and now everhthings fine. I thanks man!

Click to collapse
Download the bloatware restorer from the GingerBlur thread, and then search for the DLNA apk.
found it and downloaded the dlna.apk. unable to install it. says "application was not installed"
You could also install gladiatrix.
Then put the gingerblur theme on top

You can only restore it via the CWM update process.
Basically take the bloatware.zip and remove everything but the dlna apk file and restore it... works perfectly.
The apk will not work by itself.
Also, don't unzip it... Just view the contents and delete what you don't want. It's in System App and there's some ATT stuff in Data I think
Cool give it a shot in 10 mins

downloads ginger blur again. Open the ginger blur zip and goto system/app/ get the dlna.apk on ur desk top and the drag it into winrar with window open to system/app/ .
Then flash with cwm and u will have the app. I did this for mine but i did it on a fresh install
i'll give it another shot 2nite. does it matter as to which CWM I use?
Part Three – Tenfar’s CWM Recovery
or
Alternate CWM
going to try this tonight. I just want to add the DLNA and the Media Share. Im a noob at this. Which method worked best for you? Thanks in Advanced!
I'm gonna wait unil 2.3 comes out sometime in july and see what these guys have up their sleeves.

Ok so i got my first rom and was messing around with it ( bi winning v3) and i went to the SGS tools app and selected the option to update stock apps and this is where i screwed up , i tried to install the modded 3d gallery and the hacked camera.apk but after i downloaded both of them , and went out of the app , i noticed my gallery and camera are both missing from the app menu and if i try to open something that has to do with the gallery the app would crash , so does anyone know how to get back my camera app and gallery app? i read you need to flash , but what do i flash exactly??
Download bloater from birgertime (app section)
Don't install the stock gallery, it's a hog and slow. Try quickpic in the Market, lite, options, fast.
Or else you can just unzip the ROM using.go to system/app in extracted file..there you will find the original gallery and camera apps.just replace the gallery and camera apps using root explorer in system/app

I have recently changed my rom over to Cynogen mod tablet/hybrid and dislike most of the apps that replace the standard "messenger" "contacts" They are using google contacts and i tried a few different messenger apps like go sms ect but hate them equally. I have tried to backup and restore them with rom toolbox pro but cant seem to get them working. I was trying to find the apk files for them on source forge and any thread off xda but am unable to track them down. Does anyone know where to find them? Or is it possible to pull the files from a directory located on the phone?

You can download any rom you like and unzip or un-tar (use 7zip on your pc). Then go to the /system/app folder and see all the apk's there.
Stock contacts won't work on CM9 as the stock apps use the touchwiz framework.
