Which Phone to keep, Which Phone to sell. I have a fascinate and also a Droid Incredible I have noticed that there is very little roms for the Fascinate but dont want to give up hope yet. The Incredible has a ton of roms out there but has terrible battery life so its really a toss up of what phone I want to keep and what one I want to sell. Any suggestions?
Ill buy the incredible from you. And on roms the fascinate will get many more when 2.2 source code is released

Definitely sell the Incredible if the only reason you're thinking about ditching the Fassy is lack of ROMs. As said, they'll be aplenty when the source code is released.

This.
I'd be curious as to what the people on the Droid Incredible forum might recommend though .
Though updates sometimes seem to come at a glacial pace, they're slowly starting to pick up speed now. It's a good time to have a Fascinate.
So which phone are you saying has crappy hardware? 2.2 roms and source code are the ever going questions of when? We do have a couple customs roms available to us at the present time but until the source code comes out thats all we can do it wait. We've heard anything from 2.2 to completely skipping 2.2 to 2.3...Guess we will just have to wait and see.
As for the Incredible I have an extended 1750 battery, stock battery, case (maybe another case but need to locate the top peice), 2 screen protectors, wall charger, car charger and the original box for it. If anyone wants it send me a pm.
sell whichever one you want. Personally I HAD an incredible, so you know my choice.
It is going to depend on how you use it.
For me:
Pro Incredible....
I'm pretty sure I would prefer HTC Sense (or whatever it is called) over Touch Wiz.
The Fascinate max charge rate is about 650ma., so using it as a GPS on my motorcycle at high brightness while charging runs the battery dead. (Having used HTC WinMo devices, I suspect that is not an issue / less an issue on the Incredible)
Pro Fascinate...
Love the screen indoors.
Slightly larger battery capacity.
Has a normal flat case backside. (not a real issue, but odd)
I don't play with roms much, so I'm good with the Fascinate as is.
you're making an assumption about htc sense. I know having used htc sense, I prefer touchwiz. I've used my fascinate as a gps in my car with the screen on maximum brightness while playing music and/or being used as a phone (at the same time as being a gps), and the phone charges in my car. so I don't know why it wouldn't on a motorcycle.
I prefer the fascinate for many reasons. the battery life is great, the phone works great, especially on froyo, the screen is better, no funky case, ect...

As for Sense, from when I used it on the WinMo devices, I prefered it. But I have only used Sense for a short time on an Incredible before I returned it for the Fascinate. So yes, long term, TouchWiz may be a bit better.
On the car charging, high brightness thing, it is right at the 'edge'. If I am streaming maps in a weak signal area, the battery will discharge and the phone gets hot. In a strong signal area, the battery may actually charge some. That is at the highest charge rate that the phone can use of 650ma. But that doesn't say that the Incredible is any better, just that other HTC hardware was.

The Fascinate (and other SGS phones) have the best hardware on the market for a single core Android phone.
I am loosing hope that any great ROMs will ever be out for fascinate.
Toss MIUI on the Incredible and keep that!
Had every version of miui on the incredible and loved the progress made each week

Toss MIUI on the Fascinate, it's the same ROM. BTW I say get the fascinate and a new back cover. Personally, I'm going to get another phone when it comes out.

I have both phones, and same as you I prefer the Fascinate.
Love the gorilla glass on the fascinate.
I may have the opportunity to trade my Fascinate for an Incredible (found a post on craigslist and just waiting for his response) and I am trying to decide if I should do this or not. What are some pros and cons of the Incredible as opposed to the Fascinate?
Also, I am slightly reluctant based on the facts that I DO really like my Fascinate, and I have already invested so much time and energy into it that I feel like it might be kind of a shame to part with it. However, I know there are a lot more options for the Incredible.
Just looking for some insight that's all.

I just made the transition last week. We are spoiled with the amound of ROMs and devs over at Incredible forum.
But good thing about this phone is the 4" screen, which is just nice for my liking, as I've grown to dislike 3.7". Super AMOLED also looks slightly better than AMOLED.
However, I'm hoping there will be more ROMs soon for the Fascinate. It will have a lot of catch up to do as Froyo source is not even out yet while Dinc is already bracing for more GB ROMs.

I sold my incredible for the fascinate and regreted it. Things are a little better now that I'm running Superclean. Things I miss phone call quality, gps quality. Pluses got a mm dockstation ,4inch screen.

Tomorrow i'm picking up my Rezound after school, and I have to say I'm stoked!
I've been doing hours of in-depth researching of every aspect of this device and the results are just overall great!
What are your opinions on the Rezound? First post by the way! lol. I'm really excited to get more involved with XDA, any positive feedback or anything would be awesome.
I had to register just so I could reply to this thread
I have had my rezound for five days now, upgraded from a Nexus 1 (Completely stock for 2 years!!! oops ). After about 15 minutes of excitement, I realized it was the same GB I had been using for the last 18+ months. Luckily for me, I had been ghosting this and other forums and had been researching ROM's and ICS for about 2 weeks before I got my phone, so I promptly unlocked, rooted, and flashed Scrosler's ICS 2.3. Best decision I've ever made. Only problem I have noticed is the slight blue flicker (VERY rare, and extremely insignificant.) I LOVE this phone! I even spent all day Monday (and I mean ALL day, I had some major frustrations) trying to flash a new boot animation! I realized Sunday I probably should have tested my Romming skills on my now legacy N1 so I decided to unlock, root, and ROM that too .
To summarize, I just want to thank all the developers, and members who dedicate so much time and effort to make life on our android devices so Fracking AWESOME!
That is great news, thank you for replying! I was doing the same thing! Anyways, I'm really happy about this. I am so thankful for XDA and everyone who Devs and helps in there own way here for all devices. Hopefully, when I gain some experience I will try to dev for the Rezound or some other device! for now I will research and test things by myself! thank you!
Welcome to XDA! Congrats on getting what I, and many others think is the best phone available right now. Most of the people, as you know if you've been reading the threads, are happy to help you out if you need it. Great people here at XDA!
The rezound's my first HTC phone and I LOVE it! My only real complaint is that my stock battery life is terrible but I'm going to pick up a extended battery in a few days anyway. Came from the nexus s to this and I have to say the devs for both devices are incredible for the work that they put into these phones.

Battery doesn't suck. You just don't understand how to get better battery life...many of us are getting 24+ hours on the stock battery.
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using XDA App
With CleanROM GBE 1.6.5 and the right settings you can easily get 16 to 24 hours with fairly heavy use. Really very reasonable. Of course you won't get this while it's stock. Or until the new wears off ;-)
I'll be getting picking it up in a few hours, when I do I will purchase the XDA Premium app Can't wait to see what roms are in store for me

I agree, the battery life sucks on the stock battery. The extended battery is awesome IMHO, I have 3 of them.
I stream audio all day at work (either iheart radio or sirius online). The stock battery dies after 4/5 hours doing that, but the 2750 will last all day.
I did root/ROM etc, but I never turn off GPS/DATA etc just to get slightly better battery life. I have 3 email accounts on push etc.
I was one of the ones that was waiting for the Bionic since spring of last year.
I got frustrated around September and picked up a Thunderbolt off craiglist.
That was my first HTC phone.
Since I didn't have any warranty to void I rooted and never looked back.
I was a ROM flashing addict.
When the Galaxy nexus was announced I saw my dream phone, but again the wait was on.
I liked the Rezound but thought I wanted something different.
When the Nexus finaaly came the radio issues scared me off because I was always missing the radio quality of my Droid X and I couldn't see taking any steps backward.
I got the Rezound and realized that this was the phone for me. And since I had procrastinated waiting for the Galaxy Nexus I was able to get it after the $100 price drop.
Back story:
I'm used to only having only a few/a small amount of choices for roms. My first Android phone was an LG Ally which had only 2 or 3 major devs. Then I moved to a Droid 2 which has a medium size amount of devs specifically for the Droid 2 and it benefited from anything that the Droid X had. Still, there are only a around 20ish roms total, alot of them being CM/AOSP based. Then I got a Kindle Fire, and still, there aren't a ton of roms, maybe 10ish good ones(Once again, most are CM/AOSP based, so they're pretty close). One thing i've noticed about many of the HTC phones is that there are a ton of roms to choose from. I've tried out a few already, but I haven't found one that I feel quite right with.
Tl;dr:
What rom do you feel is the best, and for what reasons?
I would like something with Sense, and preferably ICS, but i'm not against GB. What rom has a good mix of battery life and performance?
Second question:
I've mainly been trying out the Sense 4 roms, but battery life has been horrible. After an hour of just playing music I was at 50%. Is this a Sense 4 issue? An ICS issue? Or is it GB too?
Also, I don't have service, so it's not like the 4g or 3g was eating up the battery.
Third question:
Any way to get rid of the huge, ugly "No SIM" thing on the lockscreen without getting a SIM card?
Fourth question:
Any tweaks/mods/tools that you consider musts, or ones that are little known?
Nevermind, I should have searched this first, found some info lol.
**Ignore**Also, why does the Rezound have such a weird charge port?

Thanks. I actually got it offa eBay and they didn't send a cord with it, so at first I was like "Now I have to go and buy a cord and wait for that too" then I decided to try one of the micro usb cables I had and was surprised that it worked

Haha, we have the fastest internet available to us too. Only Verizon has lines in our apartment complex, and the owners won't let anyone else lay down lines and they won't let Verizon put FIOS lines in. We only have 3 choices, 3mbps, 1.5mbps, or dial up lol. And one of the tech guys at Verizon said that most people don't get their max speed and we're lucky that we do.
1.8 max is crazy lol.
Anywho, back on topic. xD
Figured i post here instead of making another thread
I just got my rezound off ebay. Pulled off back cover and found crumpled up tinfoil on the top left corner... is this some wifi hack? Or is this a known jerry rig fix for something broken?
I am probably going to remove it.

Coming from an S3 S4 S5 and ready for a new flavor. Been reading here all day after seeing the Z3 last night.
Anything else I need to know coming from Sami.

You're going to love the battery life. Also, you might like the minimalistic touch of Sony for Android UI, depending on your tastes.
Last thing is, simultaneous voice and data won't come until lollipop, which is still pretty soon I'm feeling. Not a big hassle if you're connected to Wi-Fi most of the time.

don't buy the verizon version if you are about customizing it
you see there is no development for it at all so far,
z3 standart versions have a little development already
My devel days are behind me, I dont have the time to keep up with the changes any more so the VZ version will do
The best time is to get it now since Verizon is selling it awfully low for. 99 cents on a new contract. Ever since moving onto this phone, I have no big desire as before to Dev this since everything is near perfect.
And for some reason, T-Mobile discontinued selling the Z3 today...
Wonder why Tmo dropped it, is it cause the z4 is coming out?
Oh no.... next version regret syndrome before I even buy

it's funny how people think about z4, that's in my opinion (even if i had the money) a bit weird, since the z3 isn't that old... no offence
Cant call Vzw till 10 est to see if the store has any:fingers-crossed:
Having the Z3v,I wouldn't trade it up for any other phone unless it would be a newer Xperia. My other choice would have been a Note 4, but having the freedom to not worry about water damage and incredible battery life is what I've been long awaited for this when the Z2 was introduced.
Ok, I got mine. So whats the best/fastest way to charge this phone?
So Im just rebuilding my apps and all I can say is Wow I really like the way this thing runs. Lollipop really Fugged up my S5, how has it been for you guys

There's only two ways to charge: Regular and wireless charging. Wireless charging isn't as fast as regular charging, but it saves the hassle from taking the port out and inserting the charger correctly. I recommend either the Choe Stadium wireless charger from Amazon or the Tylt Wireless Charger if you want to spend the extra cash.
And I very much agree. I'm glad I held off on getting the S5/M8. My experience with this phone is simply the best, and I just shake my head out how people overlook this regardless of development.

Yes, this phone has expandable storage up to 128 GB. It comes with a standard 32gb internal memory on board so it's still plentiful.
Good phone, but bad support... as in poor marketing, limited accessories and delayed Lollipop update.

I had previously bought an AT&T version of this phone, and I regretted it because there were SO many problems. The battery life, the fact that it couldn't be rooted, the absurd amount of bloatware, I HATED IT. So I'm switching to the Tmobile version, because I am with Tmobile. So questions, here we go.
Question 1: Is the battery life really crappy aswell?
Question 2: Is it rootable, or still encrypted to the point that not even GOD can decrypt it?
Question 3: is the development of this phone alive?
Question 4: Can you put AOSP roms on it, or just touchwiz?
Thank you for reading, and (hopefully) answering this questions

I just bought a used SM-G900T and am using it on TMobile. I get good to great signal on the network.
1. I'm getting around 36 hours battery life, with 5-6 hours screen-on-time each day. On stock Marshmallow 6.0.1
3. Word is that there are 4-5 devs working on CM14 for this phone.
You didn't name a single new phone as an alternative. You didn't ask or take into account OPs usage requirements either. I got the S5 because I still want SD card and removable battery. The only new phone like that is the G5, which I personally don't like or trust. Certainly not for $500.
I'm loving the S5. Performance, in my experience, is still perfectly fast and smooth.

3. I could care less about CM
Why make a suggestion? When i dont know his price range or anything else. I'm sure he's wise enough to find a device he likes in his price range.
Reason I said look into another device? The device is over 2 years old almost 2 1/2. It's outdated. Updates are going to stop. There's mid range phones that keep up and/or beat it. Considering he's on xda, he probably likes development. Which many devs have jumped ship and moved on and it's only going to continue. Far better options out there for the price and no where near 2 1/2 years old.
