When I try to connect my Evo 3d to Cdma Workshop 2.7 it asks me to select a com port. I cant seem to find what com port my phone is on. I went into device manager and in the properties for My HTC and I do not see a tab for Port Settings. How do I find out which Com Port that my phone is on? Or if its not showing up as a com port at all, how do I emulate a usb port as a com/serial port?

I think you havent installed correct drivers on your windows. Which windows are you using?
64 bit windows have problems installing DIAG drivers I guess . 32 bit worked fine for me . Dial ##3424# on ur 3vo then connect to PC. It wont be able to install drivers. Find htc diag drivers on internet and install them manually using device manager . After successfully installing drivers in COM/PORTS you will see HTC DIAGNOSTIC INTERFACE (COM xx) . Use the com port shown in brackets in CDMA Workshop.
Hope this helps.............................and dont forget to click thnx button if i helped you
Thank you so much, that did the trick!

If you use Windows XP, you can download activesync.
just a little question: don´t you talk about msm drivers for advanced open gl/Direct 3D support? i thought they aren´t out yet?

same problem. help plz
Download latest ActiveSynch 4.5.
Install or choose repair (repair worked for me).
USB drivers will be copied to local disk.
Same here reinstalling activesync (windows mobile device center) doesn't work.
Hi,
If you don't want to install ActiveSync, you can just install the driver from this pack I've found through htcmania.com. It worked for me in WinXP. The driver is in folder "D\3\U\MS".

Help
Did this work for anyone?
HELP HELP HELP. Thanks in advance for any ideas. By the way I dont care what happens to this phone I have another on the way. Just want to figure this out anyways. Have you gotten any answers about your phone yet? I have an HTC Touch Pro 2 for Verizon and i'm pretty sure it is bricked. I tried to unlock the phone and the first attempt the program errored out. The phone rebooted to the way I had it before. Then I tried it again and the update went through the phone powered down and will not do anything now. If I plug in the phone into the computer the Device manager shows Qualcomm CDMA Technologies MSM - Driver not installed Code 28. Is this phone a brick or can someone save me. I dont care about whats on the phone just to get it working. I have searched for a driver but have not found anything that will work.

You can not help?
Hi.
I'm pretty sure it's around here, but I just don't seem to find it after hours of searching.
How can I use QPST (2.7 build 301) with my HTC PRO from sprint?
I've already downloaded HTC WM drivers and installed them on my vista laptop; I've tried in ##DIAG# (##3424#) with and w/o WM Device Manager.
But QPST does not recognize the phone in any of the 5 ports set up... while it recognices right away a BB Storm 9530.
What Am I doing wrong?
Where's a guide of how to get this going?
Also I've downloaded Qualcomm's QXDM but I don't understand it (and AVG considers it a trojan). And also CDMA Workshop.
This is a bit frustrating, please help
guess my question would be... what are you needing it for? QPST is a very powerful tool that if used wrong can surely render your device useless
either way make sure you have the HTC wm drivers installed... once that is done plug your device in and put in in diagnostic mode... then you will need to setup the port in QPST's configuration dialog.... one the program is up and connected click read from phone to see all your values..... also stay away from the AMPS tab... if you click it you will have to close the program and reopen before you can do anything else
What I pretty much need is a way to connect my phone in diagnostic mode to use with QPST. When I put USB as Modem and enable Logging via USB, it connects to my computer under "Other Devices > 7 CDC's" and it even fails to install those drivers. From what I gather I'm supposed to have it connect under Ports. When i tried to change it manually and point it in the direction of the Samsung USB Driver folders it says it couldnt install drivers and the device might not work properly, so it won't show up on QPST Config as a phone
rephrased what I need, can anyone help?
I am currently running everything Stock on GB w/ root
it say this when i try to point it in the direction of the drivers to install
windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error when attempting to install it
the device cannot start
Why are you trying to use QPST when the i777 doesn't have a Qualcomm processor? First of all, do you even have an i777? If you have a Skyrocket, GTFO and go to the forum for your device. If you do have an i777, use Odin, not QPST.
I'm having issues putting my HTC ONE on COM PORT under device Manager? Any one having issues, if not can you help me get my device to be reconize on COM PORT.
Thanks
I have a brand new bone stock dinc 4g lte.
I have activated sim and all features of phone work except when trying to connect via DIAG (##3424#).
Phone enters diag mode just fine.
USB debugging is enabled; Charge only is the PC connection.
My laptop is windows xp 32-bit.
I have installed the HTC Drivers: HTCDriver3.0.0.007
However, whenever I plug the phone in it recognizes new hardware: "Android Phone" and "HTC DIAG"
But after clicking "Install software automatically" it searches and then fails (even though I know the drivers are there).
When not in diag mode I can see my memory card and transfer files back and forth so I know part of the drivers are working.
What am I doing wrong?
*I found my own solution so I thought I'd post it just in case anyone else had my same problem.
1) I followed all the steps in the procedures listed in this thread, but needed to "disconnect my phone" before clicking "have disk".
This allowed me to successfully install drivers and connect to QPST. However.........
2) When I was connected QPST showed a question mark in front of my ESN. So I read and found that for this phone we need v2.7 build 3.74.
This did the trick!
3) I can verify that the "open sesame door" procedure works on this phone! Now can anyone confirm that it works for the Verizon HTC One also?
Read here
Thanks for replying so quickly! I'm glad to see you still use this phone.
I actually looked at that very thread before I started this one. QPST does not see the phone, so there aren't any phones listed when I try to add the port. So I can't click the "read phone" step in your directions because it's grayed out..
I've tried a different cable and different xp computer, and still can't load drivers!
Any other suggestions?
You should notice the diag drivers are not the same as the 3.0.0.007 drivers. Check that post I linked again.

Are you talking about this link?
>When you have QPST installed Proceed to get your HTC Diagnostic Drivers, you can get them HERE
If so, that is what I've tried and hasn't worked.
Are there other driver download links in that thread I am missing?
I also tried all of the drivers you had stickied, but none worked.
This is very frustrating. Any other ideas?

Strange, I remembered the drivers posted to that thread being correct. In any case, a simple google search for "htc diag drivers" brings this up as the first result: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=697487
If there is a thread with diag drivers then I've looked at it. So yes I looked at that post already. But maybe there is another way to connect to qpst without diag drivers? Or is it possble that I don't have something enabled correctly on this brand new phone?
Is there another way to create a virtual com port besides using dm router?
instead of automatic install have you tried doing it manually.
choose drivers, navigate to file, update driver?

Yes; I've followed this exact same process many times.
I just did it again (re-downloaded the files from the link you posted).
HIs instructions show windows 7 and I have xp, but it shouldn't matter.
When I choose his x86 drivers it always gives me this error:
HTC DIAG
When it finds new hardware "HTC DIAG" pops up in all caps.
Are drivers case sensitive?
Because all of the drivers I am manually choosing are lower case.
Could it be that is why they don't "contain information about my hardware?"
BTW, I have installed HTC diag drivers on this laptop (and my desktop) for my incredible 2 and have no problems connecting. So I'm struggling to understand why this one is so difficult!
Mine was for the evo LTE not the incredible LTE
Going home in a few, I'll see if I can get it to work and I'll report back.

Thanks so much for your help!
Do you have a windows XP you can test it on?
I've tried 2 XP machines (both with SP3) and 2 different cables, but no luck.
I'm so glad people actually try to help on this forum (unlike some other forums).
It's been a few days; anyone able to help this phone work with windows xp? My incredible 2 was a breeze compared to this one.
Thanks to anyone who might be able to help!
