The reason i would like to port MIUI to a CM7 base is simple,
1. MIUI is based on CM7 for every official device.
2. I think it could be a possible solution to the data disconnect issues.
Me and Luka have tried numerous times to port to around 3 different CM7 roms and ran into issues. We have got as far as the boot animation...it does not loop it only gets stuck.
We have followed Spaarcs guide and also the thread at modaco by rdannar with no luck at all even cross referencing to make sure we get all files mentioned.
One the stuck boot logo i run ddms and the output has something which i believe is the reason it gets stuck...
Code:
E/SocketListener( 1314): Obtaining file descriptor socket 'dnsproxyd' failed: No such file or directory
E/Netd ( 1314): Unable to start DnsProxyListener (No such file or directory)
I have googled this error of course and only came across some obscure Honeycomb SDK port with this problem that didn't seem to get a solution...
This thread is really just for anyones input or help. Please try to stick to the point of the thread...
I think you would need an official cm as the base which doesn't exist for x10 yet unfortunately.

hehe, hi
just for fun, i used FXP028 as base and nexus1 miui 1.9.23, i followed spaarcs guide.
hmm
system boots up
-cant enter sim pin (didnt ask, so no data, maybe crash system server will help)
-system so slow, lol
That seems like a start but why does it ask for sim pin?

Can you upload your rom to medifire to test ?
Ok, update. Ported to FXP28 and got the same error. I have a theory it is something in the kernel. Flash FXP kernel and the rom boots. However as said above by Zocker Tko it is stupidly slow and i have no signal at all.
Tried to crash system server and the dev app just force closes...so no signal for now. Also wifi doesn't work for now but may be a slight oversight by myself.
Change cpu governor to on demand and upped the minimum speed just a little to 384000 and the rom is usable! I just need to fix ril
Camera force closes too... *sigh*
i was able to do a "almost" full port
i´m in discussion to solve my "almost"...can get any gsm service
that´s the only thing for now that´s missing. unfortunately i´ve decided to do this in a very bad time for me professionally due lack of time to play

Hmm. I got one booting base as freex10 by z. Trying hard to get miui basing cm7, fxp kernal, cwm. Will let you know how it goes.
This uses an existing patch from cm7, so please credit only the dev´s of CyanogenMod for the Defy.
Special thanks go to maniac103 for showing me this patch and explaining how it works.
The png´s are taken from here, where you can find more like this and change it in the usual way.
It´s tested with last Epsylon3 build, maybe somebody can test it with Quarx´build and give feedback.
EDIT: Maybe there is a bootloop-like issue with froyo kernel. Pulling battery should help, after first boot it seems to work fine.
I´m sure we will have this patch in cm9 when the more serious problems are solved.
Until then this may be useful for somebody.
Update 5th March 2012
As I suggested, the hardcoded part of this mod has reached the sources (where it originally came from...).
And the problems started, in particular people on GB-builds are reporting crashed systemUI´s...
So I removed the libandroid_servers.so from the mod and reduced it to "light". Because there are only changed xml and png files left, it should work on GB-builds as well again.

did not work for me. Defy stuck on bootload. Tried taking battery out. No luck.
I'm sorry to hear that. Try a clean install of your cm9 and reflash the zip. This helped on the only reported case like yours.

First off I don't take all the credit for this as Supervenom did all the work originaly making the rom for Xperia and the CDMA fix was made by krabappel2548 & ICXPlay.
First, go to Supervenom's original thread and DL the Rom:
Link
As pricey2009 mentioned below using notepad can corrupt the update-script file so make sure to use notepad++ or Linux programs like (gedit, vi(m), pico).
Thx to Pax and Pricey for posting info on that.
Then change the update-script file in the zip you downloaded go to -> \META-INF\com\google\android and open updater-script find these lines:
Code:
assert(getprop("ro.product.device") == "R800i" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "R800i" ||
getprop("ro.product.device") == "R800a" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "R800a" ||
getprop("ro.product.device") == "R800at" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "R800at" ||
getprop("ro.product.device") == "zeus" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "zeus");
and delete them. Save it as it was with no .txt or . save it as update-script . And replace the old in the zip.
then download a slightly modified version of krabappel2548 cdma fix:
Mediafire
Or for milestone 5 download this with is the install zip with cdma libs:
cdma_aokp
Again thx to Supervenom, krabappel2548, ICXPlay, paxChristos, and anyone I forgot.

Working on the fixes, upload them when I can. And I believe your thinking of apk editing as they have to be resigned after modding. As I haven't gotten errors in cwm as much as just running normally. And as for the build.prop it's not orginaly made for cdma. The Xperia devices it was made for were gsm but other than the mobile network setup being different everything else on the devices are identical.
Tried out the original rom with no changes to it, ran fine to what I found/saw wifi worked the only thing that didn't was the data.

My first mpressions on your rom are than i feel inspired with the framework and the themes,he wallpaper choose in all themes are good and brilliant.
My suggestions for next rom are if you can put aroma installer and put elements how cybershot 5.7.2 is really good ( in my old rom ) and update your build.prop with the last JDWalker 1.9 build.prop seems amazing brilliant results. If you can put a choose in aroma for governors, maybe can add more stability and battery friendly ( deppend on own chroose.

Just a couple of hints:
For GPS issues:
I've managed to get a temp solution bypassing sony ericsson supl server. Goes like this:
Change your gps.conf file, in SUPL_HOST=supl.sonyericsson.com > SUPL_HOST=supl.vodafone.com
and change your cacert.txt file in /etc/suplcert/ by my attachment.
About joining the 2 files, if you use linux, you can join them manually by:
cat FILEONE.001 FILETWO.002 > JOINFILE.ZIP
easy huh?
BTW: just downloaded this ROM, but i'm trying a little more another. In about a week or so I'll post a review here

"Error occurred during tethering" appears whenever tethering is put on with data off.
So, IMO there's nothing to fix unless you just want the notification to not appear. Tethering works anyway.

The 1st option affecting boot up image, blue bg with firefox logo instead of gray background with mozilla foundation text. The same also applies for browser logo (nightly logo or firefox logo).
The 2nd option actually has been applied. If you take a look at my screenshot, all the 4 item is is spaced up nicely. In your screenshot (which I believe after applying the ota update), is packed to the center.
The LED issue and accelerometer I mentioned in my post was caused by missed step to patch the thing. I have built a new one with led and sensor fixed. I haven't upload it though. If anyone interested, I can upload it later after my internet return to normal.
EDIT: Oh one more. Credit should be fully given to NeuralAssembly. I just build from his source, using his instruction

first of all thanks for the build and reply.
i tried replacing b2g folder from a hd branch build for galaxy nexus. then the icons and ui were nearly perfect but the ui was a bit larger than the screen.
would love if you share your new build. thanks.

Just interested in the brand-new designed Firefox OS. Hope that you can upload your latest build at all time.
Hello, my build fails, I have multiple error during building, with sinescope.cpp and audioloop ? I probably did something wrong but I followed everything carefully. is it a bad sync ?
Edit :
I tried just the build.sh with otapackage on the line it did gave me other I just don't get it although I m use to compile But not as advanced
I would't mind if you'd upload it actually. Can I use the standard 9.1 kernel provided by cyanogen ?
I deleted the whole directory, and restarted the git, I think it's becaues I went out of space, and I think it didn t resume
just curious, how much is the repo size when completely downloaded?? anyway all the best and happy compiling!
mine's 15,5giga. i dl'ed the rom from the other thread as in post 1 here, I still would like to know what went wrong do i flash gapps over it ?
Edit : no gapps have to be installed.
My only concerns so far :
- battery sticks to 100% with green led on
- the browser flips upside down and since most apps are browser i have to use perfectly horizontally.
- I don't like the apn settings

I was able to get the battery indicator working by replacing b2g folder from a build for coconut (Live with walkman??). Then it showed the battery status properly in the status bar.
Yeah, no gapps. Android things don't work here i guess.:cyclops:
Hope you are trying to build from the HD branch! :fingers-crossed: Thanks.
can anyone please upload a latest build which can support voice and data?

Have you copy/pull the prebuilt binary from the ics rom?
https://app.box.com/s/7qnv309d9d01zhf1t6s3
That is a slightly newer built that I made before. It should fixed the battery led problem. But I if I remember correctly the camera doesn't work instead
Sorry for the late upload guys,
