I have a Rogers htc evo 3d
I rooted and s-off yesterday, I am currently using king cobra 1.6 rom, battery life seems to drop pretty quick, what's the best ROM for battery life? An I best going back to stock?

I have used, several roms and have found kings ROM best for reception. As for your battery question. The longer the ROM is used the better the battery gets. I use my EVO for everything, torrents, email, text, calls and just playing around and get a full 18 to 24 hours of use.
Hope this helps.

CDMA Sprint (USA) Evo 3D Roms won't work with the GSM Evo 3D. I would recommend LeeDroid 2.0.
I found that Warm TwoPointThree (link in my signature) does pretty well and that's what I use, but I do think Infected Eternity had better battery life. I still use Warm though because I like the ROM better and the difference isn't that noticable.
Additionally, if you don't really mind going AOSP, Cyanogenmod 7 (in the development thread) has the best battery life of all.

Markdexter has the GSM Evo 3D, which isn't compatible with Sprint ROMs.
Amazing rom
Great rom but what is the CS Engine UI for?
I am currently using ViperRom RC Test 4 with lock screen fix and this is the first time i have ever gotten 15h 21m 16s on the standard EVO 3D battery. I am a heavy user but didn't use like i normally do since i was home yesterday.

I went from Eternity to warm and i went from 9-12 hours(stock battery) & 20-28 hours(3500 mAh Trexcell battery) to 5(Stock battery) & 10 hours(3500 mAh). That's notable to me. I went back to Eternity this morning after i noticed the battery and warm started these errors.
FC bugs everywhere, then soft boots, and eventurally stuck at boot screen.
I'm a loving the Ava modified V1.
My stats below for usage. I only seek battery life and man I love it.
Cheers

that's interesting because I thought Warm was just ok for battery life..and infected eternity drained my battery faster than anything. Maybe I didn't give either enough time. I like Infected better but that is why I switched.
if ur getting that kind of battery life its worth trying out. ^^^^^^^^ I read the OP Dev has not answered in a while. What kernel do u have installed in ur set up 2 get those kind of stats? I don't want a faster phone i want good battery life.
Not sure what ROM. Currently installed Olympus Trinity XE Prime. It runs good and battery worked pretty well even though there were only six hours left of my day before I went bed.
Can you be more specific about what exactly you're looking to do and how you use your phone. I personally use my phone a lot for the heavy texting, web browsing (not on 4G don't have Sprint 4G here but somehow in the surrounding towns and Boston), an occasional phone call. I also have a twitter account syncing every hour, a facebook account syncing every hour, and push gmail. Heck I even use a live wallpaper and still get good battery life as well as 25% screen brightness.
One tip I can offer is if you don't use stuff like picasa web albums, constantly add new contacts, or use google calender, you can go into settings>accounts and sync>gmail and uncheck sync contacts, sync calender, etc except for sync gmail. Even in the twitter and facebook apps, if you don't like to integrate contacts you can uncheck syn c contacts for both. Those things seem to extend battery life as your phone isn't constantly syncing things you don't need.
I forgot to leave out I leave my 4G off on my stats cause I have zero towers in my area. Its kind of crazy sprint is dropping 4G handsets in 2012. Just read that earlier today.

I believe the opposite. As i stated before Warm cut my battery life so much compared to eternity. Did you try flashing the ext4 tweaks because it is a performance and battery help.

Afaik it's a mandatory system process that HTC uses to collect usage data, if there's a way to disable it I'd love to know!

Ive noticed that my battery life is significantly better. Typically with moderate internet usage, three email accounts, , weather, facebook, and stocks updating I would need to charge by probably 5-6pm, sometimes earlier. It is nearly 10pm now and I am still just over 15%.
I noticed a battery improvement with my PRL update on 8/16. Before the PRL update I would average -86dBm to -92dBm, after -81dBm to -87dBm on EVDO according to Signal Status app. Update on 8/18 no apparent battery improvement. YMMV
Hey guys. I know this is going to appear an elementary issue but I can't seem to figure it out. I work for Sprint I know all about battery life and what kills it and how to make it last. My 3d is draining about 20 percent per hour! I have swapped batteries, tested my batteries, wiped my device mutiple times and flashed different roms and kernels. I can't seem to figure out why my battery life has become so bad. My wifes 3d lasts about 16+ hours with moderate use and I get nowhere near that. Any input would be appreciated! Thanks!

you can try wiping battery stats. if you have been flashing roms that can sometimes cause bad battery life. also the standard making sure radios you arent using are turned off and what not. but i'm sure you already know that. most recoveries have an option built in to wipe battery stats or you can use an app called batterycalibration. pretty straight forward app. hope that helps.

The radio version shouldn't effect battery life that much, could be from a bad signal, the phone constantly searching for signal kills the battery quick, and when you say her phone lasts 16 hours with moderate use.... That doesn't tell us too much,
Screen on time is where the valuable information comes from....
Do everything you can to maximize battery life... Turn on and off the certain radios as you need them etc.
And do a battery stat wipe, as this is calibrating the phone to the battery, not the battery to the phone... Flashing kernals and roms could Bork battery stats very easily... And flashing to a different one wouldn't necessarily fix the problem... Hope you get it worked out,
Get rid of auto brightness too, get your captivate buttons to a lower brightness they eat the battery up too...

So I've been struggling with battery life on this rezound since I purchased it. It does get hot every now and then sometimes for no reason. I was waiting for aosp to come along to determine if it was just sense or the phone itself but since its not fully operational and makes my rezound hot as hell, I've stuck with sense roms for my day to day. The following screen shots are venom Rom desensed by me, including no weather, or facebook. The only thing syncing manually is gmail. That's it. No gaming here either. Downloaded a 7mb song, listened to mp3s with headphones and cruised the web a bunch.

That's about what I had using viperrez, although it seems your phone is discharging quickly when screen is off. I'd recommend under clocking when screen off to about 500mhz that works for me. Doesn't help with the screen on time though

Most likely yes, isn't the extended battery 1.5x? Either way, battery consumption is hard to perfect. Like I said maybe underclock or find a battery saving build. Prop script to try I know system tuner pro has one built in.

In my experience the battery life on the EVO LTE is great, but it varies more than other phones I've used, based on how I use it. graphics-intensive games and other apps that keep the screen on and run the processor at the same time use it the most. You can do plenty of web browsing provided you keep the screen brightness halfway down, I use the automatic setting and don't notice much battery drain when browsing, but if you turn the brightness to it's highest setting you'll definitely notice more battery drain. I love the 4.7" screen but there's no way a screen that big isn't going to draw a lot of power with the backlight turned up. As for streaming music, that's no problem. I've listened to pandora for hours at a time with the screen off and only seen single-digit drops in battery percentage.

I for one think that the battery life sucks on this phone. But I only can compare to the phone i had before the droid x from verizon, I could go 24 hours on the droid x but on the evo I get around 16 on normal everyday usage. now suppose I came from the evo or evo 3d phones and had a phone with that drained the power off the phone then I would be saying this phones battery rocks.
but with that all being said 16 hours on a smart phone really is not that bad.
Obvious total noob here. I've read all the thunderbolt reference material here and have followed a couple of tutorials on how to root my thunderbolt, but I keep finding broken mirrors. I just keep finding dead ends. Can someone point me to a current root method for this device. My goal is to try the leaked ICS rom. Thanks.
The closest I got was with revolution.
It did see my device and I was on the last step but it seemed like my rom was not compatible. There was a nice video and followed all the steps.

Welcome to the rooted club! I just joined this week myself.
I hadn't seen the all in one tool but I think I'll snag it. Revolutionary worked great for me. The only thing I had to do was temp root since I was running the .19 ROM. It was smooth sailing after that.
I'm running SkyRaider 1.3 now. I'll probably flash to ICS next month after playing with SR for a bit.
What has SR been like for you?

So far I'm digging it. It's been considerably faster and seemingly more reliable than stock. The past two years have been hateful and I wish I would have rooted a long time ago.
I'm still trying to figure out what things have changed (like what new options I have and where to find some things) but it's been a fairly easy ride. I did have to flash twice to get it to work but now it seems to be solid.

Sounds like a battery. I typically charge overnight and I'm good from about 7-4. Then I charge on the 30 min drive home and I'm good until the nightly charge. I've never seen exceptional battery life even with JuiceDefender. Right now it's bad but not quite like yours. I was on a third-party battery, though. I just swapped to the HTC battery and I'll see how it is. I think I'm going to turn JD off as well to see how SkyRaider managers on its own.

This was typical for me.
I recommend turning off 4G. It's not really useful anyways unless you're trying to download something. Calibrate the battery also. Turn down your screen brightness and backlight timing. Also adjust how often accounts sync. Slow your CPU speeds.
You should be set after that.

Yeah, I only use 4G if I'm doing file transfers or tethering. I need to look at underclocking. How often do you sync? I have a number of accounts that I check every 15 min. I could probably increase that to 30.

You need to realize the stock battery is only 1450. So very small for a 4g phone. I have found juice defender only made my wallet lighter. You might want to look in to an aosp ROM as it gives you better battery life. I personally disable auto sync and turn off GPS. Also while I am at work I disable data as SMS and MMS doesn't come over mobile data part. In the end some people carries more than one battery on them if they won't be in a place they can charge.
