Problem solved through the power of odin
ODIN saves all. If you get flash happy, I would suggest keeping a JIG handy too.

I was flashing from the new Bionix release to Eugene's new one. Something went wrong so I followed the directions saying to flash Eugene's Froyo ROM and then flash back to stock.
Problem is that I odin got stuck when flashing either Eugene's or stock ROM.
Am I missing something? I'm still able to get into download but odin can't seem to fix it???
Make sure u restart odin everytime u put a new tar in there or just restart odin everytime

OK So i rooted the vibrant with one click root...and su installed beautiful....decide to go with pepperkakes rom...got clockwork to work fine....made a nandroid back up of stock with no problem...loaded pepperkakes rom and decided not to keep and restore stock....restored complete but when i reboot the phone it stays stuck at samsung vibrant screen
Sounds like the ROM installed a different kernel than what your stock backup is. Odin back to stock and you'll be fine.
Or just flash a 2.1 kernel

belongs in q&a but what way of going back to stock did you use? nandroid? if so it wont help because it doesnt back up kernels. you will have to odin back to stock! or download a stock rom and push it to your sdcard and then flash that but its best if you made odin your friend!
Nandroid does not replace the kernel. The stock rom is incompatible with a 2.2 kernel. Odin back to stock and you'll be fine.

You just got that phone huh, odin is a program for your computer. Search for it from your home computer not sure where I got mine, but it came in a .zip file with the drivers for my computer to recognize my phone, odin program, the files I needed to get the phone back to stock. And instructions how to place the phone into download mode good luck.

You guys were a great help....got the phone up and running
Im not sure if im soft bricked or what. tried to flash back to stock tmo vibrant from nero v3 with voodoo with odin but i forgot to turn voodoo off. now it boots into cwr with voodoo. says voodoo is off but no voice to say its deactivating. I can still get into download mode. not sure what to do. please help the stupid noob lol
Were you trying to flash back to true stock 2.1? If so you'll have to flash a 2.1 kernel. If you didn't disable voodoo you'll have to use Odin. Look in the directory (bible), first post in the development section. There are noob friendly guides to help you out.

Flash back to stock is what you will need to do. Look in the bible. To be safe, you may need to flash back to Eugenes' froyo that doesn't brick 1st, then flash back to stock. This rom can be found on his site eb-productions.com
There is an "All in one" zip that has the: stock rom, .pit, the computer driver (from samsung) and odin all zipped up together. Find that and then the froyo that doesn't brick and you will have a complete repair package.
It's not hard and this is faster than f-ing around trying some "maybe this will work" scenario..........
awesome!! back on stock 2.1-update 1 thanks again guys. will be more careful next time!
I need help! I was putting an gingerbread rom on my phone made by simply honey and it didn't work. It. went though the flash process like normal, but when it was time to reboot, it would only do the samsung vibrant download then it would say not enough space on partishoner then cut off and does the samething again. It won't let me reboot back into clockwork mod screen.
Can someone help me????
Get a stock voodoo kernel by supercurio for Odin and flash that. The use three buttons to recovery and try again or restore a backup or flash a Froyo rom.

Hi,
Whenever I try to turn on my phone, it gets to the screen that says Samsung Galaxy S II I9000 with the triangle(I was on an old cm7 build, never updated.) And it will stay there. I can wipe data but it doesn't change anything. I tried using Odin to install the stock param.lfs and it didn't do anything. I don't think I can get any data to my sd card because I can't turn my phone on so I can't try installing a different rom other then cm7. I don't know what to do. If anybody could help it would be really appreciated.
I think you have the international gaaxy s2.
Please refer to this forum.
I do not have the international version. I have the i777. I guess they have found a fix now but at least when the phone used to be rooted it would change the boot animation to the i9000 one.
Yeah, Samsung never made a i777 version of the "you-flashed-an-unofficial-ROM-to-your-phone" screen. I would just odin back to stock to clear the flash counter and then following all of the guides on XDA, flash the ROM of your choice without increasing the flash counter (and giving you that screen with a triangle).
How about going back to stock and then flashing from there?
Can you use ADB to get to recovery?

I thought that param.lfs was stock but a quick google search brought me to an unrooted stock build which I needed anyone to get my battery fixed. Thanks guys, did the trick!
