I have looked all over and haven't been able to find out if you can root the HTC Flyer wifi and install Honeycomb with a Mac. Can someone let me know if this is possible? Thanks in advance.
Umm kind of via HTC Unlock method.

yes, although you will need to use a linux live CD to run the revolutionary part if you don't want to go down the bootcamp route.

Getting my HTC EVO 3D today, and I would like to root it. However, I have a Mac that does not support bootcamp (reg. Macbook). The process described here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1199725 is a bit too complex for me. I would like to obtain full root, and I have no access to a PC that will let me download and install things (my whole family, even extended has Macs). I'd appreciate someone who has rooted their device on a Mac without using bootcamp to walk me through rooting via instant messaging on any one of your preferred instant messengers. Please help me here!

sounds like you need a friend with a windows box
EDIT: the link you provided is only for the older bootlaoder versions, you might have to use htcdev unlock method for hboot 1.5.
You should check your hboot version BEFORE you go any further. If you have 1.5, you should read this guide here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1239821
If all this still proves "too much" for you, maybe you shouldn't root?
There is not (and I hope there never is) a "one click" root method
the method duce listed is the one you'll wanna follow. i also run macs, and i like being helpful, so if you ever need help with anything mac-related dont be afraid to come to meh for help.
Actually, I lucked out and got a phone with HBOOT 1.4

Hi,
Ive been meaning to S-Off my HTC ReZound in order to RUU back to Stock and hopefully get a replacement phone due to some issues. I only have a Macbook Pro but I do have Parallel 7 installed running Windows 8 Release Preview. I also have the necessary Fastboot and ABD files to HTCdev unlock and run commands. I just want to know how I can go about S-Off-ing my device, if possible, on my Mac
The follow is what my phone is currently at/running. Some detailed instructions on how to would be much appreciated. Thanks

Yea I read all that, wondering which download/rom to use and if I'm on a correct firmware..
Looks like you're on ICS with 2.21 HBOOT. Get the ICS version...
This is an older thread but I'm reviving it as a mac user. I just recently got my (very old) original Intel imac back from my inlaws as they upgraded to a refurbished mac. The screen is going, and it can't be upgraded anymore to a higher OS as is not a Core Duo 2 chip. Anyway, as I don't have space to partition my Mac Air (yes I'm a Mac fanboy, but iphone hater) I used to have bootcamp on the old iMac and used to run windows XP on it. Back then I was first transitioning to Mac, so I wasn't going cold turkey. I'm windows free and have been for a while. Long story....getting to the point here, if I can find my old XP disc, I can reinstall Windows on it. Is it possible to S-off with Unlimited's Juopunutbear with XP? Again, I've been out of the Windows game for a while, so give me slap if I sound silly. I'm about ready to get this thing S-off and do the ROM thing again (Darn I miss the ease of my Dinc). My phone crapped out the other day and I was stuck on a white HTC screen, so I had to relock and run the global RUU again. But I'd like to try roms on the stock firmware, and with the most recent release, I'm sure some Roms might be built from that too.
Sugarhill, I may have missed it but was your rezound previously s-off? I only ask because you do not have to re s-off ever if your rez was s-off before. Unless you flashed a non engineering bootloader and ran the lock command from fastboot.

No Stang, I was never S-off on my Rezound. I'm a Mac only household, and my work computer (windows...and I barely use it) cannot download or install stuff without administrator privileges so I've never been able to S-off. I'd like to, and with the reaquisition of my old iMac, it has been previously licensed to run my copy of Windows XP on it through apple's bootcamp program.
I miss my dinc and getting your rooted versions of updates for it.

Well then, let me be the first to introduce you to a whole new world of linux, by way of the flavor we all know as Ubuntu.
Download, burn to disk or thumb drive and install. Real easy

I know you're trying to help me, but I'm just not getting it. Still no idea what you're saying. Just read an article about somebody dual booting Ubuntu 12.04 on an original intel imac just fine. So I'm going to try that this weekend, and see if I can't finally get this thing S-off. I used to try Roms left and right on my Dinc. While I use my phone now more than ever during the day than I did back then, I won't be able to change quite so often, but some of the Roms I've looked into seem pretty awesome.
Hi, I just got this phone last week, I was able to root it but all I can find on obtaining S-OFF is using ubuntu and I have no clue how to do that.
I know linux but how do i go about getting it? or is there a way to do it using windows vista 64bit?
thank you for any info that you can provide

Hi guys,
I'm looking for a way to root my HTC Desire X using a Mac. (The only computer I have.) I've never rooted before so would like something with good instructions.
Cheers!

I don't know about rooting software specific to Mac, But you can use a Virtualization software like Parallels to run windows and use the Rooting guides here.
Hope it helps.

It's all the same.. all the needed files for Mac users you can have them from htcdev.com when you go thru the bootloader unlocking process.
And for the rest when using fastboot command, you just need to to add "./"
So when flashing a recovery "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img", Mac users do "./fastboot flash recovery recovery.img"
You need a custom recovery installed to flash Superuser files to root your device
i've been trying to get S-off on my mac but there doesn't seem to be any commands specific to OSX only windows, has anyone completed a successful S-Off on OSX?

Have you tried these methods: http://htc-one.wonderhowto.com/how-...-mac-os-x-send-commands-your-htc-one-0151178/ to get adb and fastboot on your mac, and then http://firewater-soff.com/instructions/ for firewater's s-off

I use a Linux box, but you could do the same thing I did: spin up a Windows VM and S-Off with firewater from there. I used VMware Workstation 10 (I think it's VMware fusion for Mac) but you should be able to mount your phone to the Windows VM using Virtualbox on Mac and achieve S-Off also. Additional note: I used Windows 7 as my VM, but I believe it's known to work on Win8 & 8.1.
PS-if you're a college student (or know one) with a valid .edu email, sign up/login to Dreamspark and you should be able to get Windows 7 free.

Umm. It's the same on a Mac. Just use terminal. Msg me if you don't have adb and fastboot for Mac. I have a 1 mb file that installs everything. No drivers needed.

Yeah, I used a VM for the all-in-one toolkit and proceeded with firewater from there and advised a VM since the OP alluded to Windows-specific commands.
