If you keep access to the original Nook homescreen (stock) then when you longpress on it and click on wallpapers, you can install live wallpapers.
If you enable the live wallpaper from here, you can then see the live wallpaper on your other home replacement such as GoLauncherEX or ADW.
You must change the settings each time from the stock Nook homescreen.
I hope this helps you guys out if you were interested in running live wallpapers on your NT.

Nice find... I was getting ready to port android live wallpapers over, but this works fine.
***UPDATE***
Multipicture Live Wallpaper works great with this...
Exactly. Definitely wanted multipicture live.

Nice find, but if I'm not mistaken this will absolutely destroy your battery life -- given the screen size.
The nt supports lwp's anyway. I actually bought one frome the b&n store and the option appeared automatically to accommodate it.

I guess I don't understand how it works.
Do Live Wallpapers still keep consuming battery life when the screen is off?
On EInk displays any animation destroys battery life. It takes almost no current to maintain a static display.
Active displays like the Nook and Fire I would not expect a lot of difference in the display current draw for animations. The big deal here would be taking the processor out of idle to generate the changing display.
This would certainly be a fruitful area for a test. Love to hear the result!
And this is with the display on. Display off may shut down everything related to the screen.
Thank you. I was trying to figure this out. Should have known to look here first.

On my phone running 2.3 the lockscreen shows whatever wallpaper I normally have including live wallpapers. However, it looks like in 3.1 you need to choose a separate wallpaper for the lockscreen and it won't let me choose a live wallpaper. Does anyone know a work around for this?
I don't know it, but it would be nice to have!
+1 would like to know too!

Bah I was trying to figure this out myself!
Someone please figure this out
Even with 3.0 on the tab you got the live wallpaper on the lockscreen. The 3.1 update brought with it the (for lack of a better term) "dead wallpaper lockscreen".
All I can figure is that this must be their way of goading us into making custom roms...

Yes, while using the Desktop Dock in clock mode you get the currently selected Live Wallpaper. Can't find a way to get this on the lockscreen though. Perhaps 3.2???
My Xoom on 3.1 had live wall lockscreen so it can't be a 3.1 issue. While it's nice to have the option of separate walls, it would also be nice to have the option to have the same live wall across the entire device....you listening sammy?

Any update on this?
WidgetLocker doesnt look right on the tablet...
When I flashed the pda md5 in this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1119492) it worked perfect. Then I flashed Bonsai and it went back to no live wallpaper...
Got to be an easier way?
Also running Bonsai. It's annoying as it seems like the 'dead' wallpaper which is setup in the default settings actually overwrites the live wallpaper being displayed under the lock screen. The live wallpaper is there, just covered up.
Example: using Multi Picture Live Wallpaper, set the lock screen wallpaper to some distinct image, and the desktop to another image. The lock screen wallpaper will default to whatever is selected in the tablet settings. When you unlock, you should see a flash of the selected lock screen 'live' wallpaper which is displayed 'under' the dead wallpaper...
I played with settings in Multi Picture, but it doesn't seem to be able to override this.
When switch my nook it landscape mode on the home screen (by turning it horizontal) and then moving it back to portrait mode, my wall paper seems to zoom in. Im wondering if its just a go launcher thing or i messed something up somewhere along the line.
Can someone test for me? Im using the standard built in nook wallpapers.

Have you rooted and installed gapps on your device? I noticed immediately after rebooting that the wallpaper was being stretched, even before installing go launcher. I dunno what is up.
I have a wallpaper i downloaded, and i don't appear to have this issue.

Yes i have. I even did a system restore to see if that fixed it, and it did not. Right now i just disabled auto rotate on the home screen and set the background to vertical mode (in the luncher settings).
This is the onlyway i can make it so itdoesnt zoom in.

Is it a Hd wallpaper like the ones that came with the nook tablet? Do u mind setting your background to one ofthe default wallpapers and testing?

Ive noticed that the NT's default pictures app does a pretty terrible job with wallpaper cropping. I have much more success when i set wallpapers directly from dolphin browser. The 1024x600 resolution also doesnt seem suited to alot of the wallpaper apps either. Ive had more success downloading 1024x1024 wallpapers from sites that tailor to the iPad.

The standard Go wallpapers (like the vertical rainbow), seem to work fine for me. I too, have found images set directly from Dolphin seem too look the best though.
*edit* Just recreated what you're describing. Does it with nook wallpapers, but everything seems to work fine for me.

These are the dimensions I found to work:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=19647527#post19647527
And I too, am seeing the zooming effect using 3 different launchers.
Had the same problem with custom wallpapers, Wallpaper Wizardrii (from market) seems to be able to properly size the wallpapers so there's no strange zooming. Use the 'stretch' option on a wallpaper that's larger than the vertical dimension (1024).
cheers
Similar to screensaver managers you'd find on other OS's? My preference is for it to randomise upon startup, anyone got any ideas? Is there a way to do it via Tasker?
Please bare in mind that I'm asking how to randomise live wallpapers, not standard, thanks!
There's an app called Multipicture live wallpaper. Allows you to choose a folder or album and lets you set things up. All you do is double tap screen if you want to change on the fly or let iit randomize on its own. This also puts a different picture on every screen. THE drawback is this app isn't ICS supported yet. It doesn't work on stock launcher. BuT if you get ADW launcher it works on that for some reason.
That's not for live wallpaper though is it?

Appreciate your guys time, but you're missing the point of the thread
I've used an app called Zedge on my Incredible2 and my Nook Color running Cyanogenmod 7 to download and set wallpapers and it has an option to randomize which wallpaper is displayed and change it automatically at an interval you set.
I haven't tried it on my TFP or ICS yet but I would recommend giving it a shot.
for the life of me i cant figure out how to add wallpaper to my nook tablet. it either stretches it or cuts it off. I'm sure its something I'm just overlooking but it's driving me crazy. thanks for the help..
Are you using the correct sized wallpaper? I don't recall the actual size but it's listed in Themes and Apps thread.

If you mean you don't want your pictures cropped like the stock gallery makes you do, I recommend checking out an app called QuickPic from the Android Market. The app is free and it lets you have better control of how much of the wallpaper picture you want to show.
I was looking for correct wallpaper sizes and stumbled across this site. Nice selection. And free.

I've been using the PicSpeed wallpaper app to both download and apply HD wallpapers. They have a pretty good selection of papers and using the app to apply the wallpaper changes seems to result, to me at least, to be much better resolution and cropping.
Hi all...
I bought one of those touchpads for $99 and finally got around to loading CM9. Very happy with it but having problems with wallpapers. TP resolution supposed to be 1024 x 768, but wallpapers that size are way too large. If I understand it properly, it may have to do with different dpi for WebOS vs Android. Any tips please?
Thanks in advance.
there's no option to apply wallpaper without cropping so I use picseed from the play store to apply wallpapers and it works well for me...hope that helps.

Thanks, will try.
Two options for setting wallpapers without having it zoom in are multipicture live wallpaper and I believe wallpaper wizdrini(I may have misspelled that, lol). I've used multipicture live wallpaper and it makes the wallpapers look much better that the default app does. Haven't tried wizdrini on the touchpad yet, but it gives fine control over exactly how the wallpaper will work on my other tablets, it should work for the touchpad. If you try it, please let me know how well it works.
Wallpaper wizardrii works pretty good and has more options for cropping or not.
