USB Driver Trouble

I recently did a clean install of Windows 7 and reinstalled SDK so that I can connect my rooted phone via ADB. My problem is when I try to manually install the USB Driver. I get an error stating "Windows could not find driver software for your device." This occurs for both the i386 and amd64 driver. Has anyone ran into this? Appreciate any help.
Try to install HTC's sync software. You can uncheck most of the stuff it wants to install, making sure that you keep & install the usb drivers. That has worked for many out here.
I kno its kinda late but if u want just the driver files u can go to developer.htc.com and find them there...just sayin

[Q] [Help] ADB Not found!

Was trying to install ADB Driver to computer and says it isn't found. Anyone else getting this issue?
Are you using the HTC Sync software to install the driver? Or are you trying to use the drivers provided in the SDK?
I'm letting Win7 install drivers on its own and it doesn't find anything.

It won't pick it up through that.
You need to either download the drivers with HTC Sync: http://www.htc.com/www/SupportViewNews.aspx?dl_id=1073&news_id=856
or Modify the drivers in the SDK as such:

downloading HTC Sync is easiest. Infact you don't even have to install HTC Sync, it will install the drivers, and then you can cancel and not install Sync.
I tried modifying the SDK driver and it didn't work for me personally, I just gave up on that after 5 mins though at HTC Sync was downloaded at that point and I didn't see the point in messing with it.
Thanks for the posts, ill give it a shot later today.

Not that I'm aware of. Try getting in touch with Samsung and asking them. The only other alternative is to do a before and after snapshot of your registry and see what gets installed when you install the drivers using Kies.
USB drivers application in the Kies program folder in win 7 just copy it .

[Q] back to win from osx; "noob" question. SOLVED!!!

back to win from osx, and I have a quick question
Are there drivers I need to install on my win 7sp1 machine, so that when I plug my phone into my computer, my phone will show up as a device, and allow me to browse the files on my internal and external cards?
On my osx, I never had to install drivers, and, if memory serves me correct, there are drivers you need on a win 7 machine, in order to browse the phone, and to transfer stuff via USB..
thanks, and let the ball busting begin!
Yes there are USB drivers for windows 7. They can be downloaded from the stickied thread on rooting. Unix and Linux require very few if any third party drivers. Just one more aspect of Unix that Apple takes credit for.

one question; do you have to be on a touchwiz rom for the mtp driver to initialize?
I downloaded a driver, installed it, and it didnt find the device properly; I tried a different cable, it found the device, started to auto download a driver, started to install it, then got the red X, saying MTP driver did not initialize..
I am using an AOSP rom, and I dont think MTP is included in them...
thanks again!
For stock Touch Wiz you DON'T need to install any drivers yourself on windows 7 for the MTP to function. Those drivers are built in to windows 7 and will install when you plug your phone in and you have it set to function as an MTP device. I would bet that vista and XP are the same. Now drivers are needed for other functions but not for the transferring of files by USB.
If you are having issues then either your drivers on your pc are corrupt or your ROM does not support MTP the way that the stock ROM does.
Thanks; turns out all I had to do was download Samsung Kies, and that installed what it needed to make it work perfectly!
