I am running the HTC Europe ROM by anser... I got a notification the other day about an HTC ROM update. So I applied it through zune.
My version number for WP7.5 is still 7720.68, for some reason I am not getting the 7740.16 update.
My boss on Vodaphone official rom got a notification, I applied it for him and it downloaded the 7740.16 update first then the HTC ROM update.
Anyone know what's going on and why I am getting the HTC update and not the 7740.16

I have tried forcing the update via Zune but nothing comes up as available.
HTC updates are only firmware updates and has nothing to do with WP7.
The new WP7 build 7740 will not be delivered to all phones at the moment, it is only delivered by a few carriers in a few regions. When/if you get that update it will be branded as a Windows Phone update and not a HTC update.

I know the 2 updates are different. I was just stating my boss's phone did 7740.16 and then the HTC in 1 hit.
My phone didn't. It skipped the 7740.16 and just did the HTC update.
I flashed the HTC debranded Europe ROM (by anser) so that I would get updates direct from Microsoft to prevent having to wait for my carrier to release the updates but it would seem Vodaphone UK are rolling out 7740.16 before Microsoft.
That can't be right

I have got Touch G2 from T-mobile Germany. On its official site i see version for update 2.73.111.26 but on"http://www.htc.com/de/support.aspx" i can see OTA update of 2.1 Available.
How can i update mine to 2.1? Anyone have down-loadable update, as i am using in India OTA update is of no importance.
I just bought an OEM HTC Mozart, and once I started it it pretty much immediately told me that an update was available. I updated via Zune the Feb Update, and again it asked me to update again, so I updated the March Update.
So in effect I have NoDo, which is pretty cool.
However, I think I still have the old Radio's:
Firmware 2250.09.12902.707
Radio 5.52.09.16_22.33a.50.10U
Bootloader 1.28.2250.3(113810)
Is that the latest Radio and Firmware?
Is there a way to just update the Radios and Firmware?

Radio firmware will be pushed out via Updates AFTER you've got the NoDo update. HTC are currently pushing out updates for the HD7 & the Trophy.

Hi, My Mozart does not seem to be getting a response from HTC to tell me that the latest Firmware is available. I have connected it to Zune several times and I even have the leaked 7720 ROM installed and if I'm right this should have triggered the update process. Could anyone shed some light on this or have I missed something and I need to actually do something to install this update myself. I have listed below my phone details as they are now.
Network: Orange UK
Model: HTC 7 Mozart T8698
OS version: 7.10.7720.68
Firmware: 2250.09.13001.401
Hardware: 0004
Radio Software: 5.54.09.21-22.33b.50.10U

you flashed the device with unofficial rom so there is no more support from zune for your phone.

Where did you get that info?
Zune continues to update the devices when you flash a leaked ROM, because a leaked ROM does not mean a unofficial one.
He asks for the HTC firmware update (not the OS upgrade) but i believe that update is to some phone carriers, since the no carrier devices won't seem to get the firmware update. Maybe this has something to do with HTC and they bad support...
I have an HTC 7 Mozart from T-Mobile DE and i receive the update. But with an unlocked and unbranded Mozart i never got the firmware upgrade...
Hi, thanks for the response. I have since tried going back to stock but this didn't update the firmware only software. I have also tried going back to unbranded but again still no update. I'm baffled by this, any ideas.

any kind of error message?connection error,etc? nothing?
Hi, I can connect with Zune and it syncs ok but even looking in the settings for an update all it says is that my phone is up to date. I'm running out of things to try. Think I will go back to stock again and leave it for a while this time as this did give me a later bootloader version, as in 1.33 and not 1.30 as is the Ansar rom im using. Also no errors at all, just doesn't seem to be found by HTC at all.
Just to keep people informed.

I then decided to try flashing back to the unbranded Ansar ROM.
This took me to 7392 but had actually dropped me back down to my original firmware. So I am now on the road to flashing Mango again but with my original firmware.
But surely if I am only updating the OS my firmware should have stayed the same or are things done differently in WP7
Got it all sorted.
Flashed the stock Rom, updated to Mango Beta then to Mango RTM and now have Mango with latest firmware.

Stock rom from Orange?
I think only those stock roms from orange and t-mobile (mine was from t-mobile) are getting the firmware update. i now have the unbranded rom but no firmware updates

Hi, yes it was the stock Orange UK Rom I flashed. I believe you are correct in saying that it is only Orange and T-Mobile that are getting the updates as I was running the unbranbded Ansar Rom but no update ever came through.

so i have installed the rtm version of mango on my mozart , i tried couple times to revert to nodo with no luck , so my question is .. Do you think the rtm version of mango that probably half the wp7 user have installed would be updateable via zune etc when mango officially rolls out .. and , is there a stock rom unbranded that is fully updateable for those like my self who want to go back to nodo and wait for the official release ... updates is my main concern now

I had the beta mango version on my Mozart, I tried to restore with no avail so I just flashed the carrier specific rom from the following link.

Just run it from your PC with the phone connected and it just installs the factory version of 7.0, then it's just an update or two away from Nodo. At least it means it's updatable.
Just make sure you get the right one, obviously you need the correct radio and it will also give you the carrier specific apps.

I've bought a Mozart recently, and it's got HSPL and DFT mango installed. What should I do to go back to official route? I want to roll back to some official rom and get today's mango update using zune.
Where can I get official rom for my region (Poland)? Should I revert to OSPL?

You should have a pre mango backup made using Zune that you can reflash?

Why?! The Mango RTM is the official Mango update?? The ROM ususally contains an updated firmware too which makes it even better than getting the update through Zune..
Zune today updated my Orange Radar 4G to 7.10 (7740) software version.
Just did the update for polish HTC Radar - there were two updates - now its 1.0902.401 7.10.7720.68
Mine is an unlocked version (company phone). Anyone noticed any changes after the firmware update? I have to admit I love the Radar even with a 5MP camera.
Still no update on my T-Mobile US radar.

I'd say there is no 7740 update for Radar at all! I think Richard Fantom might have 7720 as we all.

In About on the Radar OS version is shown as 7.10.7740.16 , and on Zune the software version is shown as 7.10 (77.40) .
I'm not sure what difference it has made to anything though as I am not using the Radar, but trying to set it up from my wife's birthday next month. I want to debrand it then SIM unlock it. Phone is UK Orange supplied.
(I'm still using Mozart but considering Titan as next purchase.)

My phone got stuck during 7740 update, but I managed to update it. Then it got HTC update.

You can manually update your HTC Radar via cab sender here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=17306513&postcount=1 I recently updated to 7.10.8107.79 works great ! If your waiting on the carriers for an update you may wait some time & it's basically the same update just thru Zune.
