Hello!
I'm interested is there any Android e-book available?
I want to get to known with Android platform to start creating some applications, I do know that's based on Java, and that's not my field... so I would need something for like "begginers".
Thanks
Well, I would recomend you an Amazon Kindle Fire but if you like something for a "begginer", what about a Nook Tablet?
Take a look at this. Posted by the man cyanogen himself.

If your thinking about an e-ink reader, the Sony PRS-T1 e-reader is running Android and is easily rooted to allow custom apps.

[Q] Howto limit android tablet to a single website in the browser

Hi Guys,
For the volleyball team i'm playing we are introducing digital game sheets. So basically all the official documentation for a game is done via a website. We want to buy several tablet which are able to do this, basically as it is an HTML5 website a simple android tablet would do the trick.
My question is the following, how can we limit those tablets that only a single website can be displayed or a set of domains and that they are not allowed to switch apps?
Thanks for the help.

Please, a Guide to remove all pre-installed spyware aka google apps, acer apps etc.

Hello everybody,
i just got an acer liquid e700.
unfortunately, there's no cyanogenmod available for it, and scanning this and other android forums i soon realised that, if i use some inoffical rom, i will most probably loose the triple sim functionality.
so, how can i make sure my acer liquid e700 with stock android 4.4.2 kitkat does not call home to google?
it is rooted already.
i do not have a google account, so there's already quite a lot of stuff that wouldn't work anyway and can be disabled/uninstalled: drive, gmail, google (search?), google settings, google+, hangouts, maps, google photos, "play movies & tv", play newsstand, play store.
(that in itself is an impressive list. phew)
however, is that enough? there's still some questionable apps. most of all, acer's own apps.
...before i go into much more detail, maybe some guide is already out there?
bonus if it's for acer devices that ship with their very own brand of spyware.
in the end, i'm not a cryptofreak, but i'd like my phone to be as safe as my linux desktop:
i want to decide who and when uses the network, and i want to make sure that apps don't spy on other apps.
i want to listen to my local (on my desktop computer) music collection without google & the world knowing about it. just an example.
ps:
i'm planning on using f-droid as much as possible.
i read an article on a german android forum that said: things to do BEFORE your android phone goes into the internet for the first time:
http://www.android-hilfe.de/thema/c...es-das-1-mal-ins-internet-geht-afwall.611866/
it comes down to having a working firewall and block everything, before you put data cards in or use wifi.
there's an older article here:
http://android-hilfe.digidip.net/vi...d-hilfe.de/forum/acer-liquid-e700-forum.1800/
and these were also helpful:

here's a similar thread on that german forum:

Build.prop / device information of S3

The Tab S3 is the only samsung tablet which amazon whitelisted for playing 1080p/FullHD on prime video. I unfortunately don't have a S3 tablet and now want to simulate it. See this thread in Tab A Forum.
So could you share your build.prop or device information? For this you can use a build.prop app from google play. A famous good app which also includes such functionality is root essentials. For simulating the device information I currently myself use Device ID Masker which is also available in play store.
Me and the other tab a user really appreciate it .

HP Elite X3-New owner trying to install non MS Apps

My android died on me over the weekend and I picked up an Elite X3 off marketplace from a developer that used it to test apps. I admit that I did not research windows phones prior to purchase. I looked at the specs and the price and knew I needed to replace my phone for work so I pulled the trigger.
Its a nice phone but annoyed with how many apps I didn't have access to through windows. My online experience runs heavily through google apps and services. I have my RSA App for work which is good but I'm missing my usual social media and entertainment apps that keep me sane driving through weekday traffic to work and back. I saw several examples of developers adding apps to the phone by installing APK files but so far have been unable to replicate their processes.
I know there is a ROM of the older version that allowed for APKs to be installed but some of the instructions I have found have been a little unclear and seem to only be made for Lumia phones.
If there are HP Elite X3 users here with more experience and knowledge I would appreciate some assistance. Not trying to do a lot just add some apps. I work Helpdesk IT and not a developer. Although I don't have the extensive deeper knowledge many of you guys have, I can follow instructions well.
Thank you guys ahead of time for any help you give me.
