i can't connect my blue tooth headset with my htc flyer...
it keep showing "paired but not connected"!
im using s.e vh300 headset.
i've tried the htc web site, but still nothing helpful...
could anyone tell me what i should do.....
What are you running (stock, custom rom, rooted)? By default, hands free profile is not enabled.
Once rooted in Gingerbread, there are two lines that need to be edited in build.prop
In Honeycomb, I haven't seen a working hands free profile for my headset yet.

Works on HC and I think also in GB.
1. Download Root Explorer.
2. Launch it and go to /System/build.prop.
3a. Open build.prop in a text editor and edit the following lines:
ro.ril.reject.cs.ss.enabled=0
ro.ril.reject.mo.ussd.enabled=0
ro.phone.function=1
3b. And edit the following lines to change bluetooth headset profile:
ro.bt.profiles = 4270403
service.brcm.bt.ag_supported = 1
4. Save all the changes made and reboot your device.
My bluetooth headset works perfectly!.
could i do it without rooted???
You will need root access to edit that file. In the above build.prop example, the top part enables telephony. The lower part enables bluetooth hands free profile. On my wifi only Flyer, my bluetooth headset works great with the edit on GB. The same edit does not work for my headset on HC. YMMV, and I'm still working on getting mine working in HC.

Nope. It doesn't. Curious: what headset are you using? My old Plantronics HS was picky even on GB. It won't connect at all on HC using all the same edits. Glad to hear that some headsets work. But debating about whether my headset should work under HC or not won't help the OP, who is on stock GB. The OP can s-off, root, and edit the two lines for HFP and be good to go.
My work fine using the FlyHoney V1 ROM and it also worked in stock GB. My headphones are Lubix model UBHS-NC1.

Cool, but to clarify, we aren't discussing BT stereo audio headphones. Those work out of the box in stock GB. My Rocketfish BT headphones work great also for audio, but we're discussing hands free headsets for making calls, etc.
I am using Sony-Ericsson HBH-DS970, it is a bit old but works perfectly.

Just checking, as I am troubleshooting why my basic Plantronics earpiece won't work under Honeycomb with these edits. I've scoured the internet only to find that most others on Honeycomb tablets haven't been able to get basic HFP headsets to fully work yet.
Do you use your headset for handsfree calls or chat in applications like GrooveIP, or are you just using it to listen to audio? I notice that your Bluetooth headset supports AD2P for stereo audio, which is supported out of the box on the Flyer. Can you confirm that you are also able to use your mic?

I've paired 2 headsets to my Flyer
1. Jabra 325s - pairs but will not attempt to connect whatsoever.
2. Samsung HM3700 - pairs and connects but can only be used to listen to media playback. Skype calls can be made with BT enabled and the sound bounces back to speakers after one word from the test call.

Are there any apps available for the Atrix to play audio over a mono bluetooth headset? I have tried the Super BT Mono Froyo and BTMono apps from the android marketplace and have not been able to get them to work.
Any suggestions (Besides using an A2DP headset)?
I 2nd that! Device not usable to me w/o this option. I've been able to enable this with all my other devices for the last 4 years at least. Not allowed to have both ears covered at work, BT hands-free only option to listen to podcasts at work. Makes 10 hour days seem like forever since I got Atrix and lost this ability. Not sure how many others willing to pay for this, but I would commit a large donation for sure to anyone who has the ability to get something working on the Atrix.
I'd love to findng something that does this as well. Any thoughts?
BTMono works well for me, but I wish Android would support it natively.

I tried btmono but it didn't work for me. What's the version of your android?
It was actually a feature on the stock Froyo build but for some reason it disappeared when I switched to GB. I've always thought it was just my headset though. I had a Plantronics Explorer but I lost it around the time I switched so I don't know if that was the issue.

Hi guys,
I'm using MW600 bluetooth headset on my X10. I change original headset with my Sennheiser MX 760. Sound quailty is very good. But I don't use MW600 with 2.2 & 2.3 custom roms
I connect it with X10. I start to listen to music. But I have short interruptions on music at various times.
Do you have a bluetooth headset is working properly with 2.2 and 2.3 custom roms?
PS: 3,5 mm audio jack is important for me. Bluetooth device must have this.
Sorry for bad English
Actually I have the same problem as well with my bluetooth fm transmitter using WB CM6. Never had a problem with bluetooth using 2.1.
Any solution to this?
Hi,
I use Trips 1.6.3 and when I have WLan activated I get interrupted bluetooth music. Without WLan everything is OK.

Can you share your rom's link with me?
custom roms have some trouble with bluetooth headsets, because my MW600 works on stock rom, and also work with my computer, with AD2P support (the devise show the title of the song/movie)
Is everyone using MW600 with this phone? Nobody have a different headset
Hi NS_85,
I forgot to say that I normally use a Nokia BH-103 and also have dropouts:-(
Does anybody know a rom which has no bt problems with a headset.
Ralf
2.1 roms are really the only solution for now. You can use EWjet if you want something snappier.

I tried EWjet but I had another issue on it.
Do you use MW600 on EWjet perfectly?
Yes, MW600 runs perfectly on the EWjet. No skipping during music playback.

Which version do you use?
I tried it but I had this problem:
I pair my MW600 bluetooth handset with my phone. I open android stock music player, mediascape, winamp or etc. My phone returning to the previous screen when I press one of the media control keys While the phone on home screen when I press media control keys, screen loading again and again
media control keys do not work on EWjet.
The last one I used was EWJET 2.1.B.0.1 V001ex. MW600 was fine with it.
I am now on stock 2.1.B.0.1 though. Prefer when I am in control of the modifications
Edit: The problem you are experiencing is caused by that WP7 music player. Disable headset button control in it's settings.

I tried it but, it doesn't fix the problem. Which rom do you use?
I have a Nokia BH-505.
Used to have sporadic blackouts on Froyo, curiously much less with GB (cobrato 1.7.15). Happens every now and then, nothing major - do bear in mind that audio notifications will interrupt your audio stream and that this may be causing the interruptions.
IMHO this has more to do with the BT stack and the ROM than the headset itself.
I don't understand what you are asking for re. the 3.5 mm jack - we ARE talking about BT headsets, right?
Hope this helps

quite simple to replace the in ears with better ones. I heard the MW600 and the sound is not the best. My nokia sounds far better especially in the low frequencies.
btw. the problem ist mostly solved with current GB rom.
Ralf
I have used different BT stereo receivers with it (both 2.1 and 2.3.3 stock):
MW600 works fine, but I don't see track info
Samsung MS3000 works, but make sure you turn the unit on before activate BT in order to connect automatically (this one lacks bass)
Nokia BH-214 works well, but it's replaced by BH-111
Sony DRC-BT30 works well, but I lost it recently.
Isn't it a known fact that Bluetooth and WiFi don't play well together? I seem to remember discussing this issue when I bought my first BT mouse (Logitech MX900) for my then brand new laptop...
Anyway, I think issues were solved by some firmware upgrade of mouse and an improved wifi-driver that addressed the issue of BT-interference. Somehow I think that changes to kernel and/or wifi-critical files may disrupt some of the "built-in" fixes for simultaneous wifi/BT connections, which results in erratic BT-behavior.
So, I think that issues are not really related to the headset rather than the internal bluetooth/wifi-stack. As for how to fix it... Alert the dev's!

I have searched the past threads and did not see any about bluetooth audio issue. I have 2 plantronics headsets that both Paired properly paired 2XXPlantronics and a 220Plantronics. I am on stock GB. Is there an app or setting that I am missing to push all audio through the bluetooth? I tried super Mono but that just stopped audiop playback on my X2 and did not give me any audio through my headset. I have tried with both headsets. Thanks in advance. I think after some review this is a gingerbread issue but with all the developers hear I am hoping there is a fix or some can come up with a fix.
The headsets must support media audio in addition to phone audio. This has been the case since day one. If your headset only supports phone audio, it won't for example pay music. Don't know if anyone has tried tweaking the bluetooth stack to get around this, but the limitation has existed since before smartphones came around.

Anyone got the (stock) fm radio to go over BT?
I use a Plantronics 3XX. On my old HTC Touch Pro II, I could play music thru it with a particular setting in WM 6.5 and I think even WM 6.1 had it too. My thoughts are that it's more an Android issue regarding routing.
[EDIT] - I found on Market an app called Bluetooth Switcher for $2.99 that might work. There is also a FREE trial version for you to try out before making a purchase to see if it works on your hardware.
Bluetooth Switcher trial
Just tried it. Opens and has on/off buttons. It does nothing.
I use a Plantronics pro+.
Yes my headsets have worked with an HTC Imagio (Windows modile 6.5) and on my Dell laptop. I am thinking it is an android issue as well. I tried a friends out whos earpiece had A2DP and it worked fine but I already have a bluetooth headset and do not want to spend any more money. Thanks for all of your responses thus far.

Iirc you must have a regular 3.5 mm jack in to listen to the radio.

You have to have a headset plugged into it because it uses the cord as an antenna. No internal antenna. My Sansa MP3 player's FM radio works the same way.
Now, you can use the speaker on the phone for the radio once you have a headset plugged in. So maybe there's a way to route it thru BT if you have a headset for an antenna.
There is an apk called media switch (pro). It may work but mkt says incompatable w/ dx2. I tried the email purchase but it failed. Mkt does not know what works on MY dx2 as it also said spb shell 3d was incomp. But it works *****great-****. I had to do the email buy.
Today I wanted to use skype (the newest version) on my flyer with videochat, I recently upgraded my flyer (BB version) to honeycomb and didnt use skype since then.
Well i know that skype was working completely on Gingerbread, but when i tried videochat today, the camera lighted up (the small green led besides it) and voice and everything worked, however i was not able to get a picture of my camera.
Does anybody have skype working with the flyer and the release version of honeycomb?
Or does anyone know whats causing the problem?
Best regards
Marius

I have the BB Wifi Flyer and Skype works perfectly including both cameras, for me on HC offical release, rooted.
What version HC are you using?
The standard stock release version that globatron posted in his thread. So its the official HTC release with root.
Ill try wiping the skype data and see if it works then. Its really weird, can't use either of the cameras it just gives me a black screen nothing else
Ok I got it fixed, I just wiped the data reinstalled skype and now it works ... weird.
Has anybody managed to get Skype to work with a bluetooth headset and mic?
I can pair and use my BT headset for listening to media files and can make a Skype test call but the audio bounces back to the speakers after the first word..?
Skype has some weirdness with Bluetooth on many devices and since the phone functions for Flyers are not yet working in HC, the Bluetooth profiles may not be fully functional as well.

I've found another problem with Skype on the Flyer.
Audio during a call is only mono.
This is true for both a wired headset and the speakers....
Any ideas?

What I should have said was that audio only comes thru on one channel. The left side only when using the speakers, earphones or a headset w/Mic.
When I use Skype on my android phone it comes through on both channels, same with the pc too.
The audio routing and libraries are a god awful mess in linux and therefore android. Who knows if its a Skype problem or a htc or a HC problem. At least it works, even this is a miracle in Android audio
I think it must be an HTC problem. I called tech support and they gave the standard answer that it might be resolved in a future update...
i have a lag on my front camera anyone else experience this with the hc upgrade? i tried wiping skype and reinstalling but its not helping...any fix for this??
I am experiencing the same lag on my View (running stock HC). The lag appears on both front and back cameras. I've tested the front cam video with Google Video Chat and it works much better.
Can someone else please let us know how SKype video is working on their View/Flyer, on official HC, GB or other ROM?
Thanks
I use stock GB and all appears to be fine - other than the sound only coming through on one channel (left side).
Are any of you guys getting sound on left and right channels during a call?
Stock HC , rooted, it just works. Just installed and both front and back cameras work fine.
I have a Motorola Finiti and after rooting and changing the build.prop the new profile is there but I can't use it. Is it because of my headset or am I missing something? The headset doesn't work on my PS3 either. Hmmmm
Anyone? Bueller, Bueller?
Have you managed to pair the headset with any device? Do you have access to a different bluetooth headset you can test with?
Also are you sure your build.prop edit was saved successfully? Check that the edit is still there. Also you did reboot right?
Is it detecting your headset at all? The default Bluetooth behavior will see the device but not utilize it.
I am very confident that the build.prop was correctly changed and the headset is being seen but only able to connect to media. I don't have another headset but if it helps i'm trying to use a motorola finiti.
Some people have said this build.prop mod works for them, but personally I tried it and I could pair and connect to my three different headsets, (motorola, Jabra, and Jabra , but none actually worked. I could hear sound, but the mic did not work.
So what are we doing differently?
I am not sure that anyone actually has it working properly. If you use the headset, the Flyer will pick up voice through its internal mic. If you find someone that has it working, ask if they are certain and what if any extra steps they did.
