I recently came from the OG Evo, and have noticed that both in the earpiece while in a call and when my phone is ringing the sound level is SIGNIFICANTLY lower than what I was used to before. I'm missing calls and can't really hear people during calls. Is there any tweaks or apps to Max the level out. Thanks in advance

Way to answer the question....
I tried the qps way for myself and my wife with little to no improvement. So then I heard about an app Volume+ there is a free version and a paid version free one works just great but I paid to support the dev.
Volume+
I tried DSP too, but i use Volume+, works great. I wrote a review on my facebook page, link in my sig.
My first two evo 3d phones had very low max volume. When I got my third I was like, wow! I didn't even think there was a problem with the speaker. But after hearing the volume on my third one, the first two definitely had issues I wasn't aware of.

Hey all,
Just recently acquired an evo3d from another member here on xda. The ringer and alarm levels are quite low for my tastes. I have gone through the whole QPST change for sound. Didn't notice much of a difference. Started using volume+ and set my speaker volume to 10. Still...better but no where near as loud as my 4G was. Anyone feel its safe to go louder? Should I go back to QPST and reset the sound settings to default before I take it too high?
Thanks in advance.

I just got a new one and yes the volume is insanely low for everything.
What is this qpst and volume+ you speak of please share any links please. I'm on my phone and in atlantic city kind of drunk so my searching is a little off as is my equilibrium lol.
Thanks for any help and links

Volume+ is an app in the market for $1.62. Let me grab the link for the qpst.
Edit: here's link to qpst edit: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1147436
Qpst did literally nothing. Volume+ paid version helped some.

I don't have a link to it. But try looking for the Sony Xloud mod. It raised my volume on my phone.
QPST mods all my levels successfully.
My phone defaulted at 2, so I tried 3. No change. 4 isn't much better either.

I actually found three to be grating to my ears. So two is my option, save for the earpiece which I set at one. I wonder if your settings are sticking. There are some settings that won't stick on the 3d, like the wimax settings inside epst(##3282#).
Also, try the tab for mms audio, I believe it's called.

Will let you know how it works. I increased your thank meter for it.
Edit: Thanks! It worked on Eternity. Thanked another one of your posts for the big help. Wish I knew about this yesterday to save myself from buying volume+. =P
Sorry about that folks, should also said to turn down your sound all the way.
This mood can blow your speaker out pretty easy.

Because its just an EQ that changes some settings. It may or may not make any difference, but it may be slightly better for some people.

just my .02 here, this could help with the EQ settings and such but part of the perk with beats audio is some really awesome headphones. be like that 10k Mordaunt-Short setup will sure sound alot better then my 300$ home theatre in a box from phillips.
Supercurio ran some audio tests and confirmed there is no benefit to this. So Sad. I miss my voodoo sound.

I am New To Beats Auido and it does sound great... But my speakers seem quiet.. The ringer and notifications need to be brought up more... I have been look for some kind of eq or Something (yes I did check.. All the volumes are up!).
I would. Just. Think that with beats audio I would get a app like voodoo....
So is There a. Beats audio app or am I going to have to wait. For a. Kernal and voodoo???

Beats Audio essentially IS an EQ (a bad one at that) that cranks your bass and highs, and muddles everything in between. Sound is pretty great with it turned off.
I have also found the volume on this phone to be annoyingly low though - no idea how to fix that one. Anything below "half" on the volume meter is almost inaudible.

I had a similar problem with my HTC EVO 3D GSM, however it was also with Viper ROM but when calling, the person I called complained that the mic had a hollow and crackly sound to it...
Getting back to the problem:
My suggestions, if you are rooted, flash a stable RELIABLE rom with no extra tweaks, etc. and see if it gives any problems, if the crackling remains, you know what the problem is, replace speaker
If it goes away, reflash the rom but have a look for twaeks, etc. but in my opinion, the best is Android Revolution 4.0 rom, it works the best, and is most stable, the AOPK is quite buggy, and slow @ times but I always liked the DeSenced roms with AOPK
Hope this helps!!!
Thanks I reflashed back to stock, but the problem is still there, so for sure I know its the speaker, thanks for the reply
