[Q] iOS 5-style Lockscreen Notifications? - Motorola Droid RAZR

Hi all,
I'm coming from to the RAZR from an iPhone 3GS, but I'm not new to Android in general (had a GTab and Transformer).
I'm loving the RAZR, but the one thing I really miss from the iPhone are the lockscreen notifications with iOS 5. Specifically, being able to see and scroll through notifications from the lockscreen.
I've done several searches here and on Google and as far as I can tell there are no apps that can do this. Without getting into any Android vs. iOS nonsense, does anyone know of any programs that do this?
TIA

None i know off. However once you get some roms im sure a dev can cook soemthing up.

Search the market. I believe there are several apps that can do this.

I think ICS has this built in. Correct?

I know that there's Locker Widget, but best as I can tell it doesn't do the notifications like iOS 5, nor do others.

Lock screen

So, I don't know if this is a dumb question or not, but I was wondering if there is something I can flash that will just change my lock screen cause I'm tired of the lock screen where I just have two options....slide right to unlock and slide left for sound. I'm running Eclipse v1. 3. Any answers would be much appreciated. Thanks

I don't know about flashing to change lockscreen...
but you can try widgetlocker, go locker, QQlauncher, or something similar from market to change up your lockscreen ...there are a few apps available that allow for customized lockscreen ...even allowing u to add widgets or custom sliders to the lockscreen ...
good luck
Liberty X3 you can choose the rotation slider.
On Molten you can choose rotary too.
Ash is right though, those would be the best options.

I just don't want it killing my battery
Sent from my DROID X2 using XDA App
yeah I understand that...
I was also trying to find a way to just replace an apk or something easy like flashing something to get different lockscreen so I don't have an app constantly running to change it...
hopefully someone who knows how to make flashable locksxreens will see this and give us a few choices
ICS theme has a nice lockscreen!
I'm thinking about trying out Liberty 3
Sent from my DROID X2 using XDA App
Lockscreens are difficult to add. There aren't any options for an actual lockscreen replacement (besides using Molten or Liberty which allow for Rotary). Lockscreen changes require much smali editing that doesn't seem worth it.
I just hope we can get CM7 soon...
If you want. Go to UOT Kitchen and upload your systeemUI and framework-res apks and make your own lock screen with the options there" then it will cook you a flashable zip. Its pretty neat!

Magic Lock is great
Magic Lock from the market is nice. they have 20 or so different themes with different locks and shortcut keys to apps while your phone is locked. Heres a screen shot of my current lock screen.
How's that on your battery?

Is the lockscreen really that big of a deal? I have seen multiple post of you asking for your lockscreen. I believe you even tried liberty x and still not happy. Seems like a lot of work for a lockscreen.
Haha. Well it's a big deal to me. They coulda at least made the lockscreen on Liberty more customizable

Just seems like many people gave you options and you are very hard to please. I personally like the lockscreen for the ICS theme. You should check those out in theme section. Then if all else fails start by Google uop kitchen and learn to make your own.
Ive been very happy with WidgetLocker. Im trying out MagicLocker right now though just to change it up. If you are worried about battery life, just stay with the default lock screen. Any locker app will probably have an effect on your battery. Sorry.
the lockscreen is a pretty big deal to me.
I settled on widgetlocker.
Its not as good as CHT & winmo, but its the best I found so far.
Go Locker is one of my favs. After switching to this from Widget Locker, I've noticed a little better battery life. I would try it out for a while.

[Q]Thunderbolt drop down multi task

I'm posting this here because no one in the x2 forum knows anything on this but my friend has a thunderbolt and on his notification bar it has all the apps he's using and a music section to change your songs. Its a rather cool addition to the phone and I was wonder how I could get this on the x2
Sent from my DROID X2 using XDA App
Anyone have any clue about this?
Sent from my DROID X2 using XDA App
Not sure about the apps list, but Widgetsoid lets you put music controls in your notification bar.
If you long press on notifications I should bring them up
Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk
As far as the music controls in the drop down menu, it believe that is part of the HTC Music app.
As for the recent apps in the dropdown menu, that would take some serious code editing. It is a part of HTC Sense, which is deeply integrated in the Android OS on HTC devices. The best thing you could do is to try to find a x2 dev that is really good with editing java/smali/xml and see if they can figure something out.
I don't think there is a way to port it over, so it would probably have to be built from the ground up.
All the good x2 devs seem to be trying to un lock the bootloader lol

Does the note have a text messaging app similar to iphone?

Does the note have a text messaging app similar to iphone? I like how my wife's iphone has all the text pop up on her screen when it is locked. Does android have a similar setup? The iphone can pop up multiple text if they are not viewed right away. Thank you. I have never had a smartphone so don't know what android has to offer.
Just go to market and look at it. They're all like **** load of apps like that.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk
But does it come with a stock app like that like the iphone has? I had a smartphone for about 2 weeks last year and found out that alot of apps don't always work properly.
Handcent in the market works pretty much perfectly doing what you want. The advantage of android over IOS is that if you don't like a stock application, odds are someone has written and published one that does what you want.

Go SMS is pretty iphone-ish. Stock theme even looks like it.

handcent also. It actually has a setting called iphone lol!
Get Go SMS Pro from the Android Market. Within this app there is an iPhone Theme. You can even tweak the settings to enable a pop-up or in the Notification Bar.

Or if you just want the pop up you can download SMS Pop Up

MIUI - wiki

Just googled MIUI to find out exactly what the characters stood for and found this on the wiki page...
MIUI (pronounced "Me You I", a play on the common abbreviation of the words user interface as UI), developed by Xiaomi Tech, is an aftermarket firmware for cell phones based on the open-source Android operating system. It features a heavily-modified user interface that does away with the Android app drawer and has drawn comparisons with Apple's iOS. Ack! iOS?! WTF?
Haha I hear you there, but whatever works some people like some don't. I'm stuck to cm9 and not going anywhere unless something major gets dropped
Sent from my MB855 using XDA
I love Miui. I think it's the best by far. You can use it the way it comes, without the app drawer. Or use it with a launcher. You can make it look just like cm9 or whatever you want. It is the most customizable os there is.

DynamicNotifications or Knock²

so both these apps are imitating the new Moto X's Active Display feature...so was just wondering if people had tried one or both of these apps and which one they prefer?
DynamicNotifications
Knock²
Dynamic notifications drains my battery

I have tried them both and prefer knock2+ v2. I just started using it this weekend. Dynamic notifications just did not seem as clean. Using it on a nexus 7 cm10.2 and s3 cm10.2.

ohhh really, i have only tried dynamic so far but looks like i need to give another one a chance
I also like Knock². However I REALLY wish I can use Knock² as the lockscreen replacement. DynamicNotification during screen on was really laggy for me.
I'm definitely in favor of Knock²+ v2
Knock is pretty awesome. Dynamic is nice and is almost there. I own both tbqh. I'm using knock now though due to its more reliable breathing function. I like both a lot.

well i got knock and for what time ive used it, i do prefer it to dynamic
Hi,
I used Knock² for a few day now. It works great for me.
But I got two problems:
1. The content of a new Whatsapp message isn't shown, this makes the app useless to me, because I can tell what kind of message I received with the Notification LED. I hope this isn't a limitation from whatsapp...
2. The Notification isn't cleared when I press the "clear" Button.
I already contacted the developer about this issues. He hasn't answered yet.
I've been using dynamicnotications since it came out just after the Moto X and I like it better because it more closely simulates the Moto X. Also, I have a lot more control over the look and behavior, and can set it to breathe off after 6 seconds, then breathe back on every 30, or at whatever frequency I like. Knock is much less configurable regarding look and behavior.
Just tried knock and it's cool, very colorful (which might end up taking more battery) but def not the Moto X experience at all.
I'll stick with dynamic and see if he incorporates the laundry list of tweaks I suggested to make it even more like the Moto X.
Do we know if these apps truly use the battery-saving gains of not activating amoled black pixels?
i m using widgetlocker
will knock show notification on my widgetlocker lockscreen or it forms another lockscreen?
sorry for my bad English

Knock won't work with alternative lockscreens, says the description on google play.
Since today I'm using active display.
I think it's a great feature when it is directly integrated in your ROM.

Very nice. I hope CM 10.2 or AOKP 4.3 add this. I wonder if I can add myself to one of these and recompile? I'd have to do a bit of research first. Heh.
I purchased both. DyanicNotifications is not as pretty but it works, Knock2 is always really flaky on my old Note2 on multiple roms and also on my Note3 stock.
To me, DynamicNotifications does a great job of replicating the Motorola implementation. Knock2 has a completely different look/style/etc.
For this, I like DN, it's simple and true to the original. Works great on GNex. Now I have N5 so without amoled, it's not happening. I'll stick with my LED notification. I like turning on this beautiful screen anyway.
