I read that FireFox 4 was released, but I didn't find it in the market, does anyone know if it will be there for our Wildfire?

you can download ıt here fırefox 4 beta 5
https://market.android.com/details?id=org.mozilla.firefox
The version available in the market doesn't seem to run on Wildfire. Check the link below for info on compatibility. The wildfire seems to be listed under "devices that have ARMv6 processors and are not compatible with official Firefox releases. They might be able to run the experimental ARMv6 nightly builds". I haven't tried it myself, let me know how you get on.

Completely broken layout, unusable. At least, that's what it was like a few months ago...
I tried it, the Firefox won't open. If Opera can work perfectly on Wildfire, why not Firefox? If firefox wants to get famous and achieve success, they should target all the devices and make things work.

FYI, I tried nightly of ARM6.
I didn't see a thread on this but last night I noticed I was able to download the Facebook app to my 10.1 and it works fine, albeit it looks simply like a very stretched version of the phone application. It does work, though, and fairly well at that.
yup. Works fine!
I installed it and it worked for a bit but now its useless
It's still garbage... I've sideloaded a few older versions plus the latest version from the market and its still just basic at best.
Still haven't fixed the FC everytime you try to go to your friends list.

Yeah, but typing replies is a pain in the butt. We need MyPad ported from the iOS
Friendcaster works better now since they got rid of the Tab beta version but they've basically reverted to an over-sized phone UI instead of the immensely superior split-screen set-up the beta had.
I'm hoping the next update to the proper version will re-introduce the better Tab-oriented UI.

I'm on the latest non-tab-specific version, and it looks identical to the tab beta....

If you don't mind me asking, what version are you running?
I've got 3.20.2 and even with the 'enlarged UI mode' checked in the settings, it just makes it look like the phone version but bigger.

Agreed. I have the newest friendcaster app direct from the market (not the tab beta version) and it auto detected mine was a tab on install and installed the tab version. It looks like my version is 3.20.2
Uploaded to dropbox for you although you should be able to get from market.

Yep, 3.20.2 here also. Works well.

Huh, weird.
I uninstalled and reinstalled it and now I see the proper UI...
The only thing bugging me about the new Friendcaster is the ad at the bottom. Actually, there is never an ad there, it just says "Click here to disable ads for thirty days!" It takes me to a broken link. I would love to share Fridnscaster to get rid of this ad, but I guess we have to live with it for now.
(That link worked in the Tab beta version.)

So wanted to make a thread where we can post applications that are built for tablets and work with CM7. I haven't been able to find any but please post them here if you have any.

thats 100% correct, GB and HC have different API's, so tablet apps arent gonna happen till ICS releases and devs update apps with new APIs
What browser are you guys using? I'm using dolphin and although great on my phone I feel its lacking things for the tablet .. any way to get the tablet dolphin version? Or is there a better browser?
Set the screen density to 160 and a lot more apps will work from the android market.

I have a quick question about App compatibility. I am going to Disney in early May and wanted to give their official app (Mobile Magic) a try, but when going to the market place, I found that the Rezound is not currently compatible.
Is there any way for me to get it to work? I have a little time before we go, but I have no idea how often they update the app for newer phones.
The first thing you do is download it and try it.
He can't. If the market says it isn't compatible, then it won't let him download it to try it.

Yea, exactly. I guess I should have been a little more clear and mentioned that I was on the market website not the app on the phone.
Do you have another android device?

Ha, yea, a tablet but it is not compatible with that either. It is compatible with my old Droid Charge which I no longer have though
you could alter the build.prop so that it would let you download it. No promises that it will work.
You should be able to grab the app on the web version of the market and then install it on your phone regardless of compatibility. Or try one of the other markets like Amazon or app brain(if they carry the app).

If I use the web version of the market it shows up, but will not let me send it to the device. I can try Amazon or AppBrain to see if either of them work.
I am assuming in order to alter the build prop I would have to be rooted to do so, which I am not currently.
I'm assuming its a paid app? You could always just download the .apk. But that would be illegal..

I was able to download Monopoly via Amazon instead of the market. The market kept saying it was not compatible with my phone and when I saw it on Amazon as free app of the day I tried it and it worked. Don't know if Amazon has that app but its worth a try.

Amazon doesn't have it. If someone has a phone that can actually download the app from the market and is willing to post the apk, I could try loading it that way.
I can't find any way to contact Disney to see what their plans are for the app and their compatibility list on the website for the app is out of date because I know some phones that aren't in their list that will work with the app.
came across this while reading Google current article. its jellybean version of playstore. For me, everything is alot better in this one. everything loads almost instantly. alot more optimized IMO. this is the latest version. I already installed and its running fine.
there's new content in this one. like magazines, TV shows, movies, etc.. you will notice the difference once you install this. still amazed how fast everything loads up in this version.
I wasn't sure if this was allowed or not. If not, mods can immediately delete it. its just the new jellybean playstore version that was extracted from JB rom.
Is this just for the US? I have installed this but makes no difference here in the UK.
thanks man
jellybean
i read jelly bean is going to have encrypted apps, think im gonna stay with ICS!

I heard THST also. but I think that only applies for trying to sideload paid apps. I believe you can still sign onto playstore on a new device and install the apps like that. you know you have like a history section that shows all your apps you ever installed or paid from there. then you can just reinstall into new device from there.
they are trying to cut down on piracy so i see the reason why they would encrypt the app to be specific to that psrticualr device once downloaded. it doesn't stop you from entering in your same info on a new device and downloading it again, from the playstore, onto the new device.
The marketplace loads much faster now, thanks!
Thanks!

this is probably a dum? but how do i install this? it says its an APK but when i download it its a zip and it doesnt flash in recovery or install like an APK
edit-nevermind i got it, just renamed to APK and all is good. thanks
I expect this version to be rolled out to all other Android devices. My phone is still on the current version of the Play Store that doesn't have magazines, etc. When I launch the Play Store on it, there is an advertisement to own Pixar movies starting at $10, even though you need the newest version of the Play Store to buy movies. You can also download a Play Magazines app from the current Play Store in preparation for when the new Play Store app rolls out you can buy magazines (or you can subscribe to them online).
Interesting.... thanks for sharing.
Works great! I Thank you.
no problem. still amazed how much better this version is than previous one. this playstire loads everything nearly instant now.
Yes, it's crazy how fast it is compared to the ICS one we previously had.
Sorry for beating a dead horse here, but does the system still lag when installing apps, has that been sorted or is it still more or less the same?
Amazing, Thanks!
Hi,
Is there an European version available? I installed this one and now it does not download apps from the store.
Thanks in advance
