Hi everyone,
I'm a noob to rooting seeing as I just rooted my EVO 3D today. I did it using the method from htcevohacks.com anyways the superuser version is 2.3.6.3 I'm aware there's probably a newer version out by now. Currently, my phone is running smokin1337's Sick Sense vX.1 and the ROM ran great for the first few hours but all of the sudden my superuser app started crashing. It prompts me to force close when I click into it on my app drawer. This is causing my phone to reboot randomly and I don't think its the ROM but more likely the version of superuser I have installed.
I'm not sure if this would affect superuser but I wanted to remove some system apps that HTC put on this phone like peep, stocks, and footprints. I backed them all up with titanium backup and the did the uninstalls. So I thought why not just put those apps back on my phone and then I would have no problems, but the problem persists. I keep trying to click into superuser and it just prompts me to force close.
I'm wondering what I should do to fix this because the ROM I installed is fabulous its just the random reboots that aren't cool.
Is there some way I could update the superuser and that would in turn fix my problem or have I done something terribly wrong that almost killed my phone???

Installed fine on TouchWiz ROM. Can others report if it installs with no issues on stock ROM?
Edit: Took down download link. Not tablet friendly.

Stock 16gb here.
I got it installed
I now have two market apps installed. It did not override the tablet market. Also, I don't have access to the movies section.
I tried it and uninstalled it within a minute or so. Obviously not optimized for tablets. will wait for official release.
Agree...looks good on the cell. Not so much on tablet. But it is working..
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA Premium App
yea I have a feeling this is the same apk for both the mobile and tablet because it works better on my TB than my GT 10.1
even then, it is alot slower compared to the previous market so idk if this is worth it just yet
Damn...i broke my market. I uninstalled the new one...old one seemed to work until i try to install an app or load my apps. Then i get a com.Google.android.finsky force close. Ideas anyone?
Edit: a data wipe and restart fixed the issue.
Sent from my GT-P7510 using Tapatalk
yes data are not the same so have to clear it before installing the new one or after uninstalling it.
finsky is FC for me
I screwed up my market by installing then uninstalling this and wiping market data in settings and a reboot didn't fix the issue.
Market runs but when I click on the "My Apps" in the upper right I get a FC.
Can anyone send me the market vending files I need to push to my Tab's system/app folder to help me fix?
(and yes I know I am an idiot by not doing a Titanium Backup of Market before installing the new one).

Thanks for trying this out and reporting back, guys. I installed it on my Nexus S without issue but decided not to pull the trigger on my tab.
Looks great on MT4G. I will wait to install on my GT10.1

Its nothing to do with root.
I was having problems with it last night, which version market do you have? 3.1.3 I ask this because this version seems to work fine for me but the one before sucked big time, try uninstalling updates by going to settings, applications then find the market and uninstall the update, that should take you back to the one you had before.
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using xda premium
Yes i hv the 3.13 version....and I have tried uninstallibg updates but that didn't help too....
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA App
I also run Jokerdroid but the one with gingerbread. I also have 3.13 market and it works fine by me. Maybe a new install will help?
I'm having some weird issues with android market also: sometimes when I want to watch screenshots I get ANR screen
Having a problem with the market (has happened on all 2.3.4 roms for me) I will select an app in 'my apps' under my purchased apps, when I select install a loading screen comes up and it never proceeds to the accept perms. screen. I searched but have come up empty. Any help would be swell. Thanks.

yeah same thing happens here as well.....this morning i just rebooted, went back into the market and selected the APP again.....from there i was able to select "INSTALL" and it worked fine....also head into yur "APPLICATION" and clear data.....that should help as well...
Ive done the reboot, cleared data on market. It helps, some apps do download, but some continue with the problem. Also will happen with apps that need updates. Only happens on 2.3.4. Haven't experienced this on 3.3.

I've noticed this too. It is extremely annoying. I will go to my apps and choose one and the Market will force close. I have cleared data on Market and rebooted and it will work for one app and then it will do it again. I have cleared data on Market and Google Services Framework and rebooted and it again will let me update or install one app and then force close again. I thought it had something to do with TB market links, but that is not the case. I've also tried fixing permissions from recovery, but again it didn't help. I don't know if it is a problem with the latest Market release or with 2.3.4 Sense. Either way it is annoying and I hope it is fixed soon.
Been down all the same roads. And yeah, definitely annoying. It's almost random anymore.

Market enabler = no go! Any one shed some light??
Sent from my CLEAN SHOOTER using xda premium
it happens to me but it can be fixed
by market enabler. But you need to reboot, change your market with enabler BEFORE going into the Android market. I have the donate version so it chooses my market at boot. And then the install button turns back up.

Oh wait sorry, you say you have an install button? Different problem...sorry didn't read properly...
Sent from my HTC EVO 3D X515m using XDA App
Install button is present. Its after I click install it goes into an infinite loading screen and never proceeds to the accept and download page. Example. I just installed wave launcher, from my paid apps list, no problems. Went to install set CPU and the issue arose, it never proceeded to accept and download. Closed market. Searched for netflix, again no problems. Went back to paid list to install sense 3.0 theme and no go.

I just cleared app data/cache and I think that fixed my problem.
I just went into maps and messed around for a couple of minutes and exited out and everything was ok.
Before, my phone rebooted when exiting out of app.
Hopefully that's the fix
Thanks
I'm also getting this issue. I tried to clear cache and data for the app but it still hotboots

Am on stock ICS and Maps reboots my Zound every time I move around in it.
Cleaning cache no help.
Will be looking for another Maps update in a day or so!
running fine on viper rom

Same things happening to me, sense restarting I can deal with. But this..

Restarts here too. I started a thread in the Apps section because I didn't see this one here.
Mine happens most frequently after trying to use Latitude, Local or My Places.
I'm glad I stumbled across this thread... I thought it was just me..I was afraid (despite running a RUU and doing a complete wipe of my phone prior to the ICS update) that it was the ROM. I haven't had issues with the Map application itself so much as I am using the 'Local' app. That's what causing my phone to soft reboot.
I'm having this issue over on the One X as well. I ended up sideloading the previous version of the Maps app from the link below:
http://www.iapktop.com/google-maps-6-9-2.html
there are 3 thread on this topic.... XD
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=30345889&postcount=15
im going to ask this here too. someone with the problem please send me a logcat
maps works fine on my device and would like to help you ppl out.
viper rom, updated to latest RUU, AR 3.15 recovery 2.27 Hboot.
Hmm I was just about to return my phone for this issue. thank you all for letting me know i'm not alone on this, guess Verizon will be flooded on this Google should fix it soon then.
Go in setup/apps and uninstall updates for maps. Make sure to UN check auto updates.

Does having a lot of downloaded apps on your phone create lag? I currently ha e more apps on my phone then ever before but I'm not sure if its due to running jellybean rather than ics. Its getting quite annoying that the phone freezes up all the time.
Sent from my Jelly Bean'd EVO LTE
Having a lot of downloads apps is fine as long as you have sufficient storage left "IMO". However having a lot of apps running at the same time can cause all kinds of issues lag, freezing, rebooting, etc. You can check the play store for a startup monitor app and restrict all of your downloaded app from running at boot. Well all of the ones you don't want running at boot. "Waring" Use extreme caution if you decide to go this route with stopping system apps from starting up when the phone is booting up. Only stop apps that you know are safe to stop from starting at boot. If you don't know don't stop it until you find out. Another option is titanium backup. If your rooted/or plan to root. Its an app that has a slew of useful features, the ability to freeze data apps and system apps as well. Once you freeze an app it won't start up when you turn the phone on. If your concern is storage you can try an app called links2sd. You can find the app here
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.buak.Link2SD&hl=en
in the play store. Also you can check out the website's f&q here

to read on how it works Don't know if this will solve your issue but its something you can give a try. Hope this helps.

Have you tried changing the overclock settings? Has this problem started when you updated your meanbean? That could be the issue, because mikey constantly tweaks the governor and o/c amount.

Actually I believe it did when I went from 2.4 to 2.6. I just downloaded the 2.9 and was going to do a full wipe flash and to reinstall all apps to see if that speeds things up..

Its running a lot better on a fresh install and no task killer installed
Sent from my EVO using xda app-developers app
Glad you got it all solved. Also a start up monitor app isn't a task killer if that's what you thought I meant. You can use apps like system turner pro to overclock and underclock, etc. Also it has the option to let you control what apps start when you first boot up your phone. Task killers are different. I would not ever recommended using one.
