[Q] flashable force roam? - HTC EVO 3D

Is there a force roam flashable zip for 3.5 rom ? Thanks in advance
Sent from my PG86100 using xda premium

Have u tried using prl00001? I use it at home and when I leave I'm back on 11115. Epst is a godsend. U will get Verizon 3g on and network on 00001 so be careful, I only use it at home. 11115 is Sprint business prl which will let u roam verizon 3g in SOME areas not all. 11115 is safe for my daily prl and no risk of going over 300mb and getting that letter from Sprint.

It would have to be hacked into the phone.apk for your ROM. check for the thread on it by "evilvoice" he has a how-to.

You can use the roam control app from the market to switch in and out of roaming whenever you want.

Thanks try it didnt work for me, don't know if i did it well

Hi...I'm curious, what exactly didn't work for you?
Not accusing you of anything, but just a disclaimer, hacked versions that are available online do not work. Just an FYI
Thanks!

I have seen a little bit of the discussion on this PRL, but my question is, what are the advantages of this PRL over the 21081? Thanks in advance!
Tested them both...speeds seem to be identical..

I'm curious, does it really *have* to be on the root of your sd card? I put both 00001 and 21081 into a folder, installed the old EPST and was able to browse and (at least seemingly) flash between them without any problem. I tried 00001, did a speed test, then flashed back. I didn't get the little roaming triangle (on stock), but it should have been the only time I've roamed this month, and I got some roaming data usage in my account, so I believe it worked...

Really, I just did that right now and loaded that screen. Checked the cmas box on it.
There is a thread in the evo 4G section about hacking your evo 3g speeds I forget the exact name. But if you hit the paper clips icon on it, there are like a dozen epst apks. Any of them should work. I'm at work right now otherwise I'd link you.

So you got the ##2627# menu? Unless I'm doing something wrong, seems like it won't work. I'm using root explorer, putting the epst.apk in /system/app, changing permissions, a reboot and that menu won't pop.
Ill also put the apk in /app, then touch to install it. If you can get the menu, I want the menu! :-(

Well I've tried about five epst.apk's ...then I messed with some XML in mms.apk which bootlooped me. There are options in some XML files for the default state of the alerts which is enabled. I'd like to edit some XML, see if that does any good.

if you flash this or just take out the ril.so file and put it in the system/lib location it will give you forced roaming by selecting automatic in the network selection.

Lost signal

Hey guys I was messing with some modems and I think I flashed the wrong one and now I can't get signal to make phone calls. Does anyone have a link to the Verizon modems so I can get my signal back. I also tried restoring a nandroid backup but it restores with no signal. Oh yeah is the radio the same as the modem? Thanks.

Right on man! I'm up and running again. Thanks a million, just wondering what's the difference with the different radios?
I flashed all 3 radios and all 3 just give me a 3g signal. Maybe its because I'm indoors, idk, I'll see what it looks like when I step outside.

They were just the radios that were included in the VZW updates, most times there is little difference.
It really depends on what area you are in and how strong your tower is, everyone experiences something different.

Yo bro, um the radios are great but all I get is a 3g signal all the time. I thought if I went outside I might see a 4g but nothing. Is there a 4g radio around where you can point me to. I tried to Google it but it just shows me the radios I already have . I'm in San Francisco and I always get 4g but now just the 3g.

They are all LTE/CDMA/EvDO radios. You should check mobile settings and make sure you have it set to either Global or LTE/CDMA/EvDO. If that doesn't work we need to know what ROM you're on to begin with.
