I have no experience, but i'd like to learn how to make my own custom rom.
Does anyone know what i'd need for a Thunderbolt GB rom?
I've looked into it and read about Kitchens and how you need them, but don't fully understand.
I'd like to know if the community could help me out here.
I could google it and I have, but I don't get any results that are specifically for the Thunderbolt.
Please go easy on me. :/
I can't answer your question so I apologize for taking a spot in your thread but I don't see any reason people would be rude/harsh towards you especially considering you posted in the proper section! Good luck and hope to see a ROM from you someday!

the phone model does not matter really and you wont find anything specific for the thunderbolt.
Install Linux right off the bat... Dealing with Windows and using environments are a PIA.
Download apktool, kitchen, gimp, and your base ROM whether it be the GB leak or MR2. Read up on how the system works, various editing techniques, and suck up all the info possible. It really is a learning process, not really something someone can tell you how to do.
That's what I did/do to learn.

You do realize too that some people, no matter how hard they may try, are just not cut out to this type of stuff?
I'm not saying you can't do this, but just be aware that the end result may not be what you want it to be.
Thank you Theory and Yareally! I'm good at researching, looking into things and learning
I just needed to know what exactly I needed to look up.

Ya, I remember back in my days in school when these people were in computer classes with me saying how cool it was to learn to program.
Half of them, while very bright, lacked a certain "ability" to grasp programming, shall we say.

Agreed... i'm tired of weeding through the junk threads.
Make us all the favor of getting a different phone. Also please do us all a favor and LEARN some forum ethic. You'll make yourself a better person and this place more enjoyable place.

Don't worry about what we think. We don't care what you do. Get another phone so we don't care have to hear about how disappointed you are. Or you could learn to build your own rom or do like me and learn to theme.

i personally think yall are going a bit overboard on this poor guy...
Eh......it's not dead. We're getting CM7, have an OC kernal, have a couple ROM's. But....if you want MORE
Try this.....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vsxPfZ76Rrw&list=PL7AA9C38D09F2F2BD&index=1
Edit....
But on second thought. I kinda like the phone the way it is, the lack of ten thousand of the same ROM with a different color for the theme is nice. If you REALLY need that, hit up the Evo 3D or the ET4G. Both will suit you PERFECTLY. And also will keep us from having a million of the same ROM's. BUT...if you WANT the Photon. The above link should tell you everything you need to know about building a ROM. And then you can make it ANYWAY you want, and don't have to rely on anyone else. Problem solved for everyone.
Some of you guys take this so personally... lol
I was simply asking a question if you don't like the question stop reading. The funny part is the same people that cried over this thread will comment again with more *****es and complaints. Relax
I would like to learn how to make roms but really don't have time... instead i donate to those making the roms. Those guys do a great job!

Sounds like you need a different phone. This same question has been asked a bunch of times already and the answer has been that the Photon will probably never be as dev rich as phones like the SGS2 and E3D. Most peeps with the Photon are ok with that but for the others that need to flash something new every day/week need to get another device.
The problem with these type of posts is they create more negativity for the Photon which is why some take it personally. We don't like our beloved device (or developers) put in a negative light.
I agree...its not necessary for anyone to be mean because someone ask a question. It is simple enough to go to the next thread. If NO ONE responds, the OP will get the message.
If he just wanted to ask he should had asked SIRI!!:

I expect development to pick up once we have a fully unlocked bootloader.
Its kind of pointless to develop a ROM when you can only flash p-ROMs right now.
Well if you use 4G you can only flash P-ROMs.

For the most part people are fairly nice on here. The ones with the sticks up there a** need to get outside once in a while or release one if you don't have a girl, just you're computer. Really if someone is doing, saying, posting in the wrong area just let them know in a professional manner. Some of these people might be the ones who are more willing to give you $ for you're time. But if you insist on being the stick ( up you're a**) police it will get you no where in life.
Have a great day!

I think the belongs in General since there doesn't seem to be a question...or maybe you are asking if one of us could help you to remove your stick, and if that is the case, then yes, I'm sure any number of people would help you with that.
Doesnt this belong in the No One Cares forum?
Sweet, that would be great! Please use you're mouth to take it out.
Thanks you're the best!

Hi, I've came across several posts online about people using their incredible on the straight talk service. I have the cdma workshop already, qpst & other software even a remote access program. I really would be thankful if someone could help me with doing this? I know its possible because theirs people that will do it for a fee. It would mean a lot if someone could point me to a step by step guide or just help me in general? Thank you so much.
