Camera/Camcorder File Naming Method - HTC Amaze 4G

I came from the glorious HD2 and one of the most important little features I miss is how the camera/camcorder apps from tytung's AOSP ROMs added a date and timestamp to each file created instead of a mere sequence number. This prevented overlapping filenames and the visual ease of seeing when your shots were taken.
Is this a feature inherent only to the AOSP camera app or can our current Amaze Sense camera app be modified to do the same?
Any insight will be greatly appreciated!

overwrite a scene

Hello,
How do you overwrite/replace an existing scene that was prebuild within the htc hero (ie Work, Social, etc)?
I've added a few stuff to the "work" scene, but I can't seem to overwrite the "work" scene - only as a different name
Thanks
thats all you can do.
The earlier pre-release roms allowed you to delete the pre-set scenes (or lifestyles as they were called then), but the current roms don't.
just gonna have to add a new one till the custom ROMs start appearing.
Thanks rhedgehog for clarifying that. Strange to take out from a pre-release to a final version. Might be able to find the file and remove it from storage when I get around to it of course - still playing with it!
there's a couple of things that were in the pre-release versions that were better than what made it to the release.
the touchflo carousel which allowed to to switch through the 7 homescreens in one swipe is the other that comes to mind....having to swipe for each screen is a minor annoyance, but not enough to ruin the experience overall IMO.

[ROM] [WWE] ["ChamUZE"] [Built 100609] [WM6.5 21222] [TF3D2.1, Opera 9.7]

Introducing: ChamUZE: An offshoot of my now-slumbering LouzeBerry ROM series, sans the "Berry" (but still with some other MobileMatt-generated goodness).
Inside, you'll find:
* Build 21222 (my favorite of the pre-visual-makeover builds).
* Manila 2.1 Revolution (1.5), skinned with 2.5-like icons.
* MobileMatt's "2.5Manilish" skin for Titanium.
* Opera 9.7, with my own "Opera Personality Switcher" to spoof User Agents and switch on/off the AT&T Proxy
* The original behavior of the camera -- where it rotates a picture based on the orientation of the device at the time it was taken (lost in many recent ROMs) See notes below).
* Some custom walls, inspired by my Chamudi (the inspiration for the name!). Also, some of my favorites collected from around and about.
* Tweaks for performance, battery savings and GPS locks.
* Assignable buttons.
* Configured out-of-the-box for a Fuze, but with ProFuze included to switch the keyboard.
Download:
ChaMUZE 100609
* Fixed issue with accidental restarts during User Customization
* Added in Marketplace (which is now live! yaaaaay!)
* Added in the HTC calculator
* Updated to a newer version of Opera 9.7 -- some neat new effects and enhancements
Please restart your device after the initial bootup -- either manually, or by adding RST: Reset to the end of your sdconfig.txt
Current changelogs and downloads will always be here, older ones will always been in the third post
Screenies (from 100109/100209):
Special notes
This ROM uses Album 3 (starting with the 092809 release) and SensorSDK3. Some people will prefer Album 2.5 or SensorSDK4, so I'm providing cabs here.
There are some gains, and some tradeoffs.
Pros (Album 2.5):
* Album 2.5 doesn't pixelate the picture on first view as Album 3.0 sometimes does
* Album 2.5 rotates image views the way many people prefer, where 3.0 does not
* Album 2.5 includes the social networking uploaders.
Cons:
* You won't have the ability to change a contact picture to one stored on your device from within the Manila contact editor or Favorites tab (it works just fine if you hit "MORE" and use Windows' own contact editor, but that saves photos at a lower resolution). The ROM already includes S2V, which can save a hi-res picture to a contact, as a workaround.
Pros (SensorSDK4)
* You can turn The G-Sensor on/off from within TF3D
* You can make any application rotate, so long as it's on SensorSDK's whitelist (which you can easily edit with G-Config)
Cons:
The camera won't auto-rotate picture orientation based on the way you held your device when you took a picture
Changelogs, and old downloads
ChaMUZE 100209 (very minor update to what's in 100109)
* Removed some redundancies in the Start Menu from the new Comm Manager
* YouTube 2.5 is now cooked directly in, instead of installed as a cab — big time-saver during initial customization, slight space-saver in the ROM
* Returned to the version of the Notification Enhancement used in previous builds
ChaMUZE 100109
* Added in the Comm Manager with Wi-Fi sharing
* Added my new Opera Personality Switcher app
* Returned to the "original" 2.5 slider icons (I just like 'em better)
* Since this ROM includes Opera 9.7, I've also placed a Opera 9.5 cab on the device for those who might prefer it. That's now located in My Documents, for easier access
* Updated to a newer version of the Notification Enhancement
* More packages are cooked directly in, instead of being installed by cabs. Should make initial customization a little faster, and save a little space
* (Maybe) solved a problem one user reported with his device restarting during User Customization -- I need feedback here on whether anyone else is having problems, and whether this fixed it.
ChaMUZE 092809a
* Switched to Album 3 (cabs for 2.5 in the next post)
* Opera 9.7 is now the default (A 9.5 16643 cab will be found in your Windows directory, if you'd rather use that)
* Updated to new, snazzy versions of the Leo TF3D slider icons
* Some new wallpapers, inspired by my Chamudi
* Fixed with 092809a: Album link was missing from the Start Menu in initial 0928 upload.
Current changelogs and downloads will always be here, older ones will always been in the third post
ChaMUZE 091609[/B]
* Initial release
Known issues:
* In all versions so far: "All Settings" in TF3D's settings tab doesn't do anything. The IsWM6.5 registry entry appears correct, for those following TF3D2.1 development. Suggestions, XDAers? Not a problem - You can still get to your settings via the start menu.
Awesome.... Can't wait to check it out.
So glad to see you back with a Manila 2.1 offering. I used your last ROM for 4 weeks without a problem. Super reliable. Can't wait. Bring it on!
Hope this will be a worthy
I believe the tcp manila 3.1 is really loaded and very slow, so i wish this will also be loaded and very fast plus it must have 3g
Where is the rom
We are still waiting for your release
looking forward to this one. Sounds right up my alley since I also prefer Album 2.5 and like th Manila 2.1 features...
The initial version is RELEASED!
Minor update coming in a few days. Some new walls, updated Opera, a tweak here, a tweak there.
Feedback/requests? How's the album/sensorsdk combo working out for people? The cabs?
Comparing HTC Album 2.5 to HTC Album 3.0
Hi, I wanted to thank you...I'm not even a Raphael user... just a user of the humble T-Mobile Wing (Herald). But I have been searching for past hour trying to find out differences between 2.5 and 3 -- So I am very appreciative that you have laid it out, and SEARCH picked it up so I understand what I miss with Album 3.0
More impt, given that the presumptive view at XDA is that "NEWEST VERSION is always better", it's great to see your explaining why, in your view 2.5 is better. It really helps to have people spell out functionality differences.

Album 2.5 and SensorSDK3, and -not- Album 3 with SensorSDK4, as found in most Manila 2.1 ROMs. Cabs are here for anyone who likes the more typical Album 3 / SensorSDK4 setup.
Pros:
* Album 2.5 doesn't pixelate the picture on first view as Album 3.0 sometimes does.
* Album 2.5 rotates image views the way many people prefer, where 3.0 does not
* Album 2.5 includes the social networking uploaders.
* The camera will rotate a picture based on the position of the camera, as in older ROMs (this no longer happens on any SensorSDK4-using ROMs, AFAIK -- but someone please tell me if that's wrong)
Cons:
* You won't have the ability to turn on/off the G-Sensor in Manila.
* You can't rotate apps other than those that natively support rotation (Album, Opera and others that rotated on the stock ROM will work fine). You can address this with one of the xda-generated rotation apps.
* You won't have the ability to change a contact picture to one stored on your device from within the Manila contact editor or Favorites tab (it works just fine if you hit "MORE" and use Windows' own contact editor, but that saves photos at a lower resolution). I'm inlcuding S2V, which can save a hi-res picture to a contact, as a workaround.
Again, cabs are here for anyone who likes the more typical Album 3 / SensorSDK4 setup. If the contacts issue is big for you, you may want to consider installing only Album 3 and not SensorSDK4 -- this particular version of the Album3 package (not all seem to behave this way) will still acknowledge rotation with the older SensorSDK (meaning it'll adjust in which direction you're doing your finger swipes); using the older SensorSDK still gets you the properly working camera rotation.

No problem. Keep in mind that those pros/cons are as to how Album/SensorSDK relate generally to TF3D2 and these packages, and more specifically to how they relate to this ROM. YMMV with other ROMs, and in particular with TF3D1 or non-manilla setups.
For instance, the issue with the photopicker (for contact picture and wallpaper selection) not being in or compatible with Album 2.5 is irrelevant with TF3D1, which was meant to work with earlier versions of Album anyway.
I've updated the post on Album 2.5 vs 3 and SensorSDK 3 vs 4.
It now includes a different revision of Album3 that still pairs very nicely with SensorSDK3 (which I still recommend, because it works better with the camera) . Zooming in portrait and landscape works just fine, regardless of which SensorSDK you use.
It also appears to be faster than some versions of Album3 that commonly used, which means the pixelation issue isn't so bad -- the high-res picture snaps into place pretty quickly. It -may- become the default in the next revision of the ROM (If so, a 2.5 cab will be provided).
As a side note, I had some trouble finding a version that works this way -- but I ultimately built this Album3 cab based on the Album files in herg's ROM (which I highly recommend, if you want to play with the bleeding edge), where Album3 behaved just the way I wanted it to.

21222 was my favorite build. Glad someone is still developing it. Word, you wouldn't happen to have an unmodified 21222 kitchen would you?

I assume you mean one of Da_G's? I'm upload it and PM you a link with what I'm 98 percent certain is an original, before any of my tampering.
it's nice and fast
all these newer builds gained too much weight :/
i do have one problem though
it doesn't seem to go through the whole uc process, and instead reset after the first few
also, for next builds, could you consider including newer htc menu enhancement that does not have arrows on top and bottom? some roms (nrg, for example) have it, but i don't know which package it is
thx!

I'll check into that issue with the UC. I have a suspicion as to what might cause it. The reboot is happening during while it installs the items from your SDConfig, and not while it installs the ROM's own cabs, right?
Is anyone else having a similar problem?
For the menu ... maybe. I'm kinda partial to the versions with the arrows. But I'll take another looksie.

[Q/REQ]Re-Tweaked mms.apk for Shirshir's ICS ROM

I'm running Shirshir's ICS ROM, but he hasn't made any changes for quite some time and I have no idea if he's supporting it any longer, so that's why I'm posting this here. The rom uses AOSP gallery and a themed mms.apk, both of which I like, but in this tweaked mms.apk Shirshir removed the ability to add pictures to a text message using the gallery, so you can only add pictures and videos that you take at the time. That is, you can't add ones already taken unless you go through the gallery app itself, and even then you can only send one at a time, you can't add multiple like you could on stock. So my question is, can anyone re-add this ability? Or point me towards how I might do it myself, as I'm very noobish?
P.S. If you happen to make one, I'd also like a switch of the attachment and send buttons in messaging while you're at it XD
Thanks for any help in advance.

Hey!
I know about this problem... I was actually going back to the old gallery to fix this and the lockscreen wallpaper problem. That's the only easy way short of decompiling and fixing the code inside the individual apps... which is useless since I plan to change my ROM to a completely new base eventually.. That's what I've been working on lol.
So, you can't really fix it and keep the stock gallery app. If you want, I can upload the original gallery for you to install, and that should fix everything.

[Q] SupterLTE - Restoring application names

Hello all!
I have a quick question regarding application names. I have the latest version (as of 9/15/2012) of SuperLTE installed on my EVO LTE and I love it. I was actually having some network issues which the change to this custom ROM fixed along with all the extra goodies/fixes included. However, I would like to change a UI element back to the way it was on stock. All of my icons are missing the name under them (except one which I believe must be part of the icon image). The only way I can see the name of the program the icon represents is if I have them in folders. Is there any way for me to get icon names back?
This is my first post so I can't ask in the specific forum for SuperLTE so I was hoping a SuperLTE user could assist me here.
Thanks in advance and also a big thanks to the guys behind SuperLTE. Great job and I love it!

[Q] Sense 5 video highlight

So, what exactly is this new video highlight feature we got with sense 5, and how does it work? I'm running stock all the way, and I see a highlight folder in my gallery. However, all the folders have the same option to run a slide show, but that's it... I'm sure that's not the "cool" video highlight feature that I've read about everywhere. Am I missing something here?
so I guess I'm not the only one who doesn't fully get this thing then? strange that there's no help topic about it..
I'm guessing that's what it is... In fact I'd like a way to hide / delete / prevent the video highlights for some events where they make no sense, like when I photograph the whiteboard at the end of a meeting....
Still looking for a way to do that
Ps: I would speculate it looks better on a real One, as then the video highlights can be based on Zoe videos, instead of being based on still photos (and perhaps regular videos)
