Fast wakeup without freezes;
Not freezed while synced with Google;
Fast install large applications;
Gone mostly lags.
7 december
EGL v.6.1
Hardware Acceleration OpenMAX codecs (still software render but cpu usage drop from ~100% to ~70% while playing video, better CPU Quadrant scores).
New EGL hack can improve stability.

Due to software rendering & color conversion leads to high cpu usage & drops frames.
But now working built in player, YouTube, Quadrant & possibly others programs.
For upgrade from v.4.x-5.x only need replace system.ext2 (with lost EStrongs File Explorer due to moving /data/app).
1 december

Reduced frame buffer to RGB565 due to still software EGL render System UI.
In result restored performance in 2D and improved 3D performance and stability.
Now 2D/3D score about 200/400 points.
28 november
EGL v.2
Improved EGL and whole system stability.
27 november
Fix OpenGL(EGL). Very ugly patch but working. Angry Birds working fine
In EGL edition 2D performance drop to 2-3 times and sometime Android subsystem reboots.
Explained how to hack for EGL - updated as much as
1. You need rights *.so adreno200. Not all *.so worked with ICS. You can try from my build.
2. You should patch these files:
DisplayHardware.cpp - selectConfigForPixelFormat
SurfaceFlinger.cpp - SurfaceFlinger::createNormalSurface or define NO_RGBX_8888
eglApi.cpp - eglSwapBuffers
glext.h - remap GL_TEXTURE_EXTERNAL_OES
gl2ext.h - remap GL_TEXTURE_EXTERNAL_OES
state.cpp - fix case GL_TEXTURE_EXTERNAL_OES
BootAnimation.cpp - BootAnimation::android()
for details see patchset - first aid hacks. Needs additional investigations and developments.

Thank you very much, I`m very glad to see your ROM in separate thread... It's great that you joined developers in porting ICS on HD2
Nice. Works great.
One request though. Please leave out Google maps from the package, for the benefit of those who want to install the modded version.

Hi, washpota.
You can freely replace any files followed by readme.txt in Portadroid.
And you can very easy modify content /system/app via RootExplorer.
Just tried it, it's slower than any current 2.3.7 rom for example, but it's usable. Wifi works, went through all the setting panel, nothing was missing. Added my google account, tried the Market etc, everything I tried worked!
Very pleased with it so far, keep up the good work!

Thanks for the tip. I removed the apk, and had to replace data.img with a new one. Bit time consuming, but works.
I used to port myself, but now shifted to your ported rom for love of wifi and market

Since data drops on PPP builds still appear to be a major problem for some users, I decided to post this workaround for converting any sense PPP build to RMNET. I have only tested this on Mdeejay Revolution build but should work with any sense build. I have used this for more than 10 days now without any problems whatsoever: everything worked like on the original build. And no data drops.
All attached files were extracted from Sergio's CoreDroid version 0.5 which is an RMNET build. Hope he doesn't mind.I am not at all a developer
The steps are outlined below:
1. Download and extract the attached files on your PC
2. Open the Android folder of your build on your PC, and copy + replace the zImage and rootfs with the extracted ones.
3. Boot into Winmo and transfer your android folder to your SD card; also transfer the extracted module folder to your SD
4. Boot into Android; after initial setup, reboot again.I recommend a clean fresh install (ie without any old data image; you may re-use your data.img after setup is complete)
5. Use Root explorer to copy and replace the 2 files in the extracted modules folder into \system\lib\modules.
6. Reboot and enjoy
UPDATE 7/11/2010
[08/11/2010]After further testing of this update, I have found the screen to be laggy and had a SOD. I tried reinstalling after that and had no data connection but wifi worked ok. I have therefore abandoned using the update and sticking with the original one above. Of course if it works for you stick with it.
I have tested a newer nexus kernel of 5/11/2010 (found here) on Mdeejays Desire Revolution build (Desire based build). Both wifi and data work, and camera is 5MP. However only a clean fresh install appears to work.
Just download the file NewRMNET, extract contents unto desktop, copy all 3 into the Android folder of your build. Then boot into Winmo and transfer to SD card. Boot into android 2-3 times. That's it.
Once again the rootfs.img file is from Coredroid v0.5
Please leave feedback. I dont use BT or wifi Hotspot so will not know if they work.
Cheers.
Hmmmm... I think I'll try this as soon as I get home. Will edit this post with an update in a few hours.
EDIT:: Seems this actually broke my ROM all together.. Sucks... Oh well. I've been meaning to test a few other ROM's out anyway. This just gives me a good excuse to finally do it.
I'm downloading now....gonna try it and see.i'll let you know how it does!!Thanks
Hi,
Thank you for sharing.
So does that mean that for Sergio's CoreDroid version 0.6 ROM ... it already has RMNET right?
CoreDroid 0.5 is RMNET, 0.6 is PPP.
tried it and it didn't help any.and now my wifi doesn't work, just gettin an error message.going back to the way I had it before!

Wifi will not work if the bcm4329.ko and tun.ko files contained in the modules folder are not replaced in \system\lib\modules folder with root explorer or a file explorer with root rights.

Was that an internet temper tantrum?
Seems to work well.. so far no problems and data is slow but steady.. Better than constant connection loss.. I created a folder set> 'root/system/lib/modules' in my android folder to make wifi work perfectly...No need to use root explorer. and if I switch zimage again, its easy to delete.. Thanks!

This work around is a great idea, however changing the zImage file is changing the kernel. I believe coredroid v.05 uses mychiprimas r11 kernel to be rmnet. the internet is great but then there is low incall volume as well as low notification and ringtone volume. Those are a downer for me.
I read somewhere that Hastarin was making a RMNET kernel to try out but I dont know how that turned out.
Try this low volume fix here; worked great for me.

I did it, but turns out RMNET in the EVO tree is broken.
I'm not sure what the OP has done here. I would presume he's provided a Nexus based kernel and files to convert a particular build to RMNET.
If so that's a step backwards in my opinion. PPP with the recent patches to the kernel and wrapper is about as stable as we could hope for and we have a lot of fixes since the Nexus tree was last updated.
PPP still has to reconnect if your phone hops between towers/bands but seems to do so relatively reliably now. I have no idea how RMNET handles that situation.
Of course I realize others out there may want to live with RMNET and without the other fixes/features (working compass, g-sensor fixes, light sensor, etc). Each to their own.

All this really does is to swap the build back to using the old nexus kernel, presumably if the chefs wanted the old kernel in their build they'd already be using it.

I seem to recall someone saying that it is handled by Android (as opposed to the kernel), since RMNET is the "official" way to do things in Android.
Awesome!
Thanks for making this.
Can't wait to try it with some of the great builds here.
Was getting tired of all the build lately only using busted PPP based kernels.
What good is a data phone if the data connection is a joke.
Nookie Froyo 0.6.8
is a development build of Froyo 2.2.1 for the Nook Color.
ClockworkMod flashable! - info below, please *read carefully* before flashing!
This build is near-AOSP and contains almost no extra software not deemed required for the device to function normally.
It is pre-rooted with SuperUser, busybox, SoftKeys v3.07, and ROM Manager 3.0.0.5 however.
The eventual intention will be a build that other devs and users can easily fork and create their own custom builds, themes, roms, etc.
** THIS IS A DEVELOPMENT BUILD **
Use this at your own risk! Myself, XDA, and NookDevs are *NOT RESPONSIBLE* for anything that happens directly or indirectly related to this software!
We're approaching a daily driver! Most things work now, including mp3 and video playback. Post any bugs you find here!
I'd like to thank all the nook color devs involved in getting to this state, testing, documenting, etc. We've got an amazing group of minds behind this device!
INFO
The microSD card image contains 4 partitions:
/dev/block/mmcblk1p1 : boot (fat32)
/dev/block/mmcblk1p2 : system (ext2)
/dev/block/mmcblk1p3 : data (ext3)
/dev/block/mmcblk1p4 : sdcard (fat32)
Use these partition IDs when following guides that require mounting/remounting filesystems.
What's Working:
MP3 playback
Video playback
Youtube, Pandora and other mp4 streaming apps (apps not included)
Accelerometer!
Wifi (adhoc + infrastructure!)
Graphics acceleration (LWP!)
Sound
Browser
Mostly working
Lockscreen is wrong size - REBOOT to fix
Not included / Not working
gapps ( gmail, youtube, maps, etc ) - can be installed, youtube fixed!
Bluetooth
FM radio
This build was created using the B&N kernel sources for 1.0.0, Omappedia's Froyo source ( currently RLS27.9.0.RC0 ), and binary drivers from TI for wireless, SGX530 acceleration, and DSP codecs.
Download:
This SD image requires a 2GB microSD card! Bigger is OK, smaller is not ok!
Note: if you wish to use a larger microSD card, you can use a partition editor to increase the size of the /sdcard partition (partition 4, fat32) *after* writing the image to your card.
Simply unzip this image and dd the file to your (empty) SD card, just like nooter.

ClockworkMod Flashable ZIP!
*IMPORTANT*
- please wipe data/factory reset if you're coming from B&N stock firmware or another rom!!
- please see other threads about installing and using CWM recovery - keep this thread to NF issues please
- this has been tested only using CWM 3.0.0.5 downloaded from market, be warned it may not work with IOMonster's kit or other versions. Let us know if you try and it does!
- replaces kernel and ramdisk - if you were using an alternate kernel you'll need to reflash it.
- This will irrevocably erase and replace the software on your eMMC! MAKE BACKUPS BEFORE FLASHING, you have been warned.
If you're upgrading from an older version of Nookie Froyo, you should not have to wipe - however if you do have problems *wipe data* and try again.
*IMPORTANT* - this zip does not require any extra steps such as formatting /boot, changing system permissions, and does not replace or remove CWM. If you are coming from a ROM that required these extra steps and are having issues, *please post your questions there* so the dev can be prompted to correct those issues properly.
If you're coming from a rom that doesn't support CWM properly see the following thread:

Installing /system will take some time, and the progress bar doesn't update in realtime; you haven't 'locked up', just be patient as it may take a few minutes.

Do not try to Format SD card from Settings -> SD & Phone storage!
- there is currently a bug that causes the system to format the /boot partition instead of /sdcard when this option is used, leaving your NC unbootable. Format your SD card in your PC or another device if you need to! - fixed in 0.6.8!
FIRST BOOT TIPS -
On first boot, Launcher and SoftKeys will fight for control of the home intent - that is, when you boot the first time, your NC will ask you to pick your home activity.
*CHOOSE LAUNCHER* at first (DO NOT select 'always use this action'), and let the system boot and stabilize (3-4 minutes).
Hit Home (the N button). You'll be asked to choose your activity again, this time choose SoftKeys.
Try using one of the SU-required buttons (back or menu), and after a few moments SuperUser will prompt you to accept the action.
SoftKeys 3.06+ now prompt for SU permission at startup, just accept the superuser prompt when it pops, you'll still want to let the system stabilize for a minute or two.
If SoftKeys fails to ask for SU permissions, "Unable to execute as root":
Go to Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications -> 'All'
Select SoftKeys from the list
'Force close' Softkeys if it's running, then 'Clear defaults'
Hit the N button, choose SoftKeys when prompted to choose your home action, accept the SU prompt when it pops.
Workarounds for some known bugs/issues:
(default in 0.5.8+) Improved Refresh-rate (no flicker! thanks [mbm]!): this should set the refresh rate to 68hz, the supposed default for the Nook Color's LCD panel -
Code:
adb shell echo 68000,1024/70/200/40,600/10/11/10 > /sys/devices/omapdss/display0/timings
Browser: force closes when opening a website that tries to use location services, due to the missing GPS. Try browsing to a url by typing in the google search box, and if you can get into the browser menu changing your homepage away from google will stop it from FC'ing on open.
Lockscreen wrong size: Simply reboot to correct this.
Touchscreen is slow/unresponsive:
Turn your screen off and then back on.
Disable Haptic Feedback in Settings -> Sounds.
Also, see this page for a possible calibration fix: http://nookdevs.com/Recalibrate_the_NookColor_touch_screen
(fixed in 0.5.6 w/included SoftKeys 3.00) No buttons! Try: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=860153
(fixed in 0.5.6) SoftKeys - in 0.5.1 softkeys' buttons do not work due to a permissions issue. To fix, do:
Code:
adb shell mount -o remount,rw /dev/block/mmcblk1p2 /system
adb shell chmod 0755 /system/bin/input
Please post issues/workarounds/bugs in this thread, I'll try to keep this list updated.
To answer from the other thread...
Timeframe-- well, this isn't me doing this. But I think the devs just want to take the edges off, so be patient... I'm just the messenger on the news that it's been done. This is other people's accomplishment.
In fact, froyo was done weeks ago, though not entirely from open-source/freely distributed components like this (as far as I know).
To answer some questions--
BT not working, FM not working, accellerometer not working. Softkeys should work... dont' see why not anyway. It's stock froyo. No gapps, no Superuser.apk, no nothing over and above AOSP. Overclocking not in but should be possible... video playback hasn't been tried (it's early still!).... battery life who knows I haven't even had a chance to let it run down... I posted because the news was "out" anyway. I also can't compare to stock because I've never run stock, believe it or not. But it's based on the same kernel 2.6.29. It boots off a SD partitioned for system, data, cache, and sdcard. Only thing (I think) it touches on the internal storage is resetting that boot counter, otherwise you'd only get 7 boots at a time. Doesn't need much space. 2GB should be enough. That's what phones have anyway. Guess it depends what you want to do with it. Performance is decent, not steller compared to my g2 at least. Will benefit from OC.

Questions on everyone's (well, mine at least) mind... please answer as much as you can, and a big big thank you!!!
1. Is BT working?
2. Is FM working?
3. Can we still use SoftKeys for hardware key emulation?
4. Can we overclock the processor?
5. How's the video playback?
6. How's the battery life compared to stock?
7. Since you're booting from SD, does that mean the internal memory of the NC remains untouched, should we need to boot stock?
and
8. How does the device feel overall?

Nice stuff guys keep up the stellar work
Sent from my LogicPD Zoom2 using XDA App
So awesome, looking forward to the progression of this!
I got my SD to boot tonight!
It defiantly isn't for the faint of heart but it seems to work well enough as a good base to start on. Pretty snappy to boot.
I would like to emphasize that this is VERY rough around the edges and if you aren't planning on hacking with the kernel, or code, or attempting to make your own rom then this is NOT for you.

Defiantly awesome work (and pure AOSP + TI drivers) which means no propritary B&N bits
Thanks for releasing such and early build to the public. It's not often you see that.
(I won't even consider playing with this build)
As a humble Analysts I grovel at the feet of your magnificent tech prowess.
(thanks)
Does this include a working JIT or is that one of the things in progress?
That seems to be one of the more compelling things from froyo (at least for a device with more internal storage than a nexus one). I would expect (well, hope anyway) that the froyo JIT would have a noticeable impact on the speed...
Mods, can we please stickie this?
Very awesome... Will try it out later today!
Since this runs off the sdcard can you power down the NC and remove the sdcard and boot normally?

You also have the option of converting the volume buttons to back/menu as well. It is documented in this thread, but the filenames have changed in this build. You will need to modify the following files..
/system/usr/keylayout/qwerty.kl
/system/usr/keylayout/twl4030-keypad.kl
I am not a developer.
I am not likely to become one at this stage of the game...
I am, however, either brave or stupid because I am downloading the image and will see if it will boot on my NC.
I do this because:
A) I want to SEE froyo running on my NC, and
2) If I have any problems, feedback might help the devs
I love seeing all the progress that has been made on these things.
Is flash supported in the browser with this initial froyo build?

I tested flash and it does work.. The flash plugin is not included in the build however, I had to find it and install it via ADB.
Just rebooted back to my regular rooted NC system after pulling the sdcard and can only say-
Marvelous.
Yes, it is slow, no keyboard and all of the other things that were spoken of in the initial posts, but IT WORKS.
I don't have time to do much else with it right at the moment, but I will mess with it more later.

Could you post the flash plugin you used? I would really appreciate it. Could you also comment on the quality of flash videos online. I'd like to watch espn3 on the nook...in bed...lol
OK, so I booted the rom, and followed the instructions at nookdevs...
Installing superuser.apk and pushing su seemed to work just fine!!!
Softkeys installed and got superuser permissions and works as well.
Installed astro file manager, and that works fine too...
At that point, I wanted to mount the usb storage and move over a bunch of APK files... mounted the nook and could only see the mlo, img file etc... no problem creating an apk folder and putting files in there, but then I can't see that folder when I look for it in astro....
Any info on simply copying files via USB using this build?
Also, thanks to all the devs for the awesome work... looking forward to playing around with this more!!!
A new release is ready the final Degu.
For both gen7/8 you will need to flash the latest zImage and initramfs included in the download links. <-- not needed if you already have flashed the latest with Crow. no changes in kernel or initramfs for Degu release.
Also to be sure you will need to delete your data.img and let it create a new one or copy your own if you use an image more then 256mb.
For setting up your device look here http://dev.openaos.org/wiki/AndroidInstall_CM7_Gingerbread
Links updated crow release 27-01-2013
For gen7:

For gen8:
http://www.openaos.org/wp-upload/gen8/2013-01-27/
If you have any issus post them by creating a new ticket see http://dev.openaos.org/wiki/IssueTracking on howto.
Known issues are here: http://dev.openaos.org/wiki/AndroidTicketsFor2.3
If it works well or you have issues you can also leave a reply.
BTW camera should partly work on gen8, tested on a 101IT taking photos. Video recording will freeze the app. Not tested with apps that use the cam only with the included camera app.
A43IT has a different camera, so I don't know if it will work.
Thanks,

Degu final (27-01-2013)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Changelog:
- Smoother youtube video playback for gen8
- More apps in the market available for gen7 and gen8 (also thanks to utopik for this)
- Internal storage should now properly display free available memory for gen7 and gen8
- Fixed bookmark for gapps in the browser for gen7 and gen8
- Overal speed improvement.
Unfortunately you will need a fresh data.img to let these fixes take effect.
Crow final (25-12-2012)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
First don't forget to flash he new zImage (kernel) and initramfs it is in the archive kernel_gen7_20120512_114451.tar.gz for gen7 and kernel_gen8_20120409_002900.tar.gz for gen8 unpack it (with winrar if you are on windows) and only use "zImage" and "initramfs.cpio.gz"
Changelog see http://www.openaos.org/archives/821
Bull final (09-04-2012)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
First don't forget to flash he new zImage (kernel) and initramfs it is in the archive kernel_gen7_20120512_114451.tar.gz for gen7 and kernel_gen8_20120409_002900.tar.gz for gen8 unpack it (with winrar if you are on windows) and only use "zImage" and "initramfs.cpio.gz"
Only for gen7: If you flash the new kernel and initramfs also delete the old menu.lst when it is there. If you have custom lines in there add them later after you first booted in the new menu.lst that is created.
Only for gen8: If you first boot the image it happens sometimes that omap_vout isn't loaded correctly this means it can't create the overlay for playback video and uses the software renderer. If you just reboot it is ok. It only happens atleast to me on the very first boot.
Some improvements first the kernel and initramfs:
- Correct orientation of the bootmenu for A101IT
- Updated the kernel with latest archos GPL release which means that the ones with broken USB host on their A101IT it gets working again when booting stock through the bootmenu.
- For gen7 updated initramfs to match the one from gen8
- Added unionfs support, so you can have root with rw access on stock android.
Improvements on Gingerbread:
- smoother camera because of using the overlay to display the stream. Known issues: - display is cropped so you don't see the whole camera - Recording still doesn't work.
- Youtube app works.
- Hardware accelerated video for atleast youtube app and some mp4 files, maybe more if someone can test some different formats that would be nice. Rotation does work for youtube app, there are still some issues when rotating playing a regular mp4.
- On gen8 you can also play hw accelerated flash videos in the browser now, of course not all pages will work.
- wifi location should work now. <-- same for gen7
- Fix not enough storage when installing apps by moving /cache also to the data.img. <-- same for gen7
- Update to latest CM code. <-- same for gen7
RC2 (24-12-2011)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This will be the final Bull release or there must be some major bugs discovered in the next few days.
There is now a new feature added (thanks to illifant). The data is now in a separate image "data.img" if it is not there it will be auto created. 256 MB is standard. You can replace it with a bigger one from the download link gen8_data.img.tar.bz2.
If you unpack with for example winrar you see three images 256MB, 512MB, 1024MB just pick a size and copy that to the root of your archos. Rename it to "data.img"
As mentioned you don't have todo this if you want to use 256MB that will be created automaticly.
All your data, apps and gapps are in data.img. So on a next upgrade you won't have to reinstall everything again.
Also the size of the actual image is reduced, for gen7 it is 180MB and for gen8 256MB.
Don't forget to flash the new zImage (kernel) and initramfs it is in kernel_gen7_20111224_181411.tar.bz2 for gen7 and kernel_gen8_20111224_213037.tar.gz for gen8 unpack it with winrar and only use "zImage" and "initramfs.cpio.gz"
(if not specified otherwise the fixes are for gen7 and gen8)
Gingerbread Image:
- Deep sleep improved, however to work properly keep adb disabled. (it is now disabled by default.)
- Charging A43 for USB and wall charger is fixed (gen8)
- External sd-card is now mounted on /mnt/storage/sdcard (same as on archos firmware).
- Updated with latest CM code.
- New modules from updated kernel build (gen8)
- Other small fixes see the closed tickets.
zImage and initramfs.cpio.gz:
- Initramfs script updated, if it fails it will now display an error message instead of just rebooting.
- Kernel updated to latest archos firmware (2.4.81) kernel (gen8)
RC1 (06-11-2011)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Somethings that are changed since anoa release:
(if not specified otherwise the fixes are for gen7 and gen8)
- Fixed headphone speaker switch
- partly camera working for atleast A101IT I think also A70, don't know for A43IT because it has a different cam. (gen8)
- Fixed permission errors when using ext3 formatted internal memory
- Fixed some browser crashes. Due to using v8 javascript engine again instead of jsc
- Fixed crash when going to browser settings
- Fixed deep sleep which should be working now.
- Fixed mounting/unmounting external sdcard.
- Calibration app included for A32 and A43. (Under settings)
- Updated to latest CM code
- Kernel updated to latest sources from archos firmware 2.4.65
- Fixed correct rotation for A101, only bootmenu is still upsidedown.
- GPS working for gen7 devices
- some other small things
Tips:
1) Playing youtube videos on CM fail with standard player http://pastebin.com/YAZc0z74 , but can be done with mobo player or mx player by using for example opera mobile and setting the user agent to desktop.
i'll give it a try now
The Bootmenu doesn't start. It hangs on the first Archos Screen (before OpenAOS).
It don't creates the menu.lst file also.

You are right, something went wrong with the upload of the zImage, if you check md5sum it is wrong. I will post when it is fixed. Should be soon.

EDIT: zImage is fixed now if you already downloaded it just redownload
hey - great to hear about further development - sadly the gen8 links seems to be down ...
www.openaos.org/wp-upload/gen8/2011-11-06/ReleaseCandidate_UNSUPPORTED/
Error: Connection interrrupted
Perrhaps just partial - will try again later
EDIT: working now again
After choosing "Gingerbread-Entry" in Aos-Menu my 101 shortly shows the "openaos"- Bootlogo and then reboots in Archos-Standard.
What is wrong?? I used all files from the Link mentioned above.
Any ideas?
P.S: Reload of the files is not possible because it seems like openaos.org is down ;-(
We are having some issues with dev.openaos.org which will hopefully soon be solved.
The problem you have is a corrupted zImage. It should be fine now once you can redownload it.
Sorry for the inconvenience,

hey divx - do we have any working way of dualboot urukdroid and Cyanogen?
For me this is the major reason for less contribution on openAOS - as i need a working stable device for dialy use - but also really want to help u with cyanogen...
Searched for it some time ago already but due to the different kernels this was really hard to figure out...
anyway will try yours again now and check out the new release

Unfortunately not, maybe in the future when we can boot different kernels. We just follow the archos kernel sources with some minor additions to also allow booting of other linux distros. We want however always be able to boot stock android with our kernel which gives you btw root access, because of using unionfs.
I don't know how much difference there is between the urukdroid kernel and ours never looked at it.

So far it is running smooth. Great job guys.
I noticed 3 things so far.
1) my speakers make a "pop" sound when the device goes into and comes out of sleep. They also did that in Anoa.
2) I can swipe between the different home screens OK, but if I try to use the desktop dots next to the dock then ADW force closes.
3) Camera worked great the first time, then the second time I went back in it, it is green and gray colored. Tried changing the color effect settings of the camera and it looks the same every time. Rebooting fixed the greenish look and I have been in it multiple times now and it is staying normal so not sure what caused it the first time.

1) I was incorrect about my speakers popping in Anoa, they crackled in that, so the pop I think is an improvement
2) that's good news. I don't use the dots as I prefer to swipe, I just accidentally click one and that is how I found out.
3)I have an A70 8GB. I'm not sure what would have caused it, I have not been able to reproduce it since rebooting the device.

Unfortunately stock camera does not work, try camera360 from playstore or see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=29749517&postcount=460 (please do not post anything on that thread)

Version 3 alpha
smokin901 has been busy in the early hours and has fixed sd mounting problems for us sd users-THANK YOU again smokin901. Also working USB Mass storage Mode, Browser, Installing Apps on SD card, Superuser (included app and binary already in the rom)- can install superSU if problems. Build folder is called ics again. A fix for the camera can be found here http://www.mediafire.com/?3bh08l3xttte5am (put meta-inf and system in sdcard/ics/root folder and reboot). Though camera works display is grainy but pictures are clear-Credit to Zergra (see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=29124206&postcount=239 and press the thanks button there )-"Video Recording is buggy"

Version 2 pre-alpha (haret)
After hours and hours (since 4AM this morning) wis1152 has managed to port a version for haret (&magldr BTW) users with working data and root. Huge respect and thanks.
Please do a fresh install as root seems to still be broken if using an existing data.ext4, set your size in startup.txt. Note that folder is called ics in this build, rename if neccessary (and edit startup.txt accordingly).

Version 2 pre-alpha
We have root, google now and data working (data for magldr users only ATM, haret users can try changing kernel, but may lose root). Note that install folder is called jelly. For browser, try chrome or other browser from this list http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=28841137&postcount=70

Version 1 pre-alpha
Remember this is a work-in-progress, things may not work. For example root privileges, Camera, Browser works but display is messed up, Error when Installing some Apps, Google Now crashes.

Pre-alpha versions 1&2 and alpha 3,4&5 softkeys
See http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=29034218&postcount=166
Put system and meta-inf into /sdcard/ics-or-jellyb/root folder and reboot
As far as I can see it adds 2 lines to /system/build.prop
Code:
qemu.hw.mainkeys=0
qemu.sf.lcd_ density=110
Not sure why lcd density is put to 110, it has no effect on actual lcd density.
Anyway, delete these lines to remove softkeys and before rebooting, make sure your root folder is empty, else it will re-install (yes, it happened to me)
You may find the some screens slightly messed up with softkeys added.
No soft power key yet. Try Quick Boot from market and add power off widget to homescreen, thanks liuhung.
Pre-alpha version 1 only
Softkeys can be got from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=28874557&postcount=92
Put system and meta-inf into /sdcard/jellyb/root folder and reboot
To remove, use the attached instead (it has original .apk)
For magldr users, a way to change ro_lcd_density in /system/build.prop without root permissions was found by vikingzou here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=28292160&postcount=614 genius.
The attached below is for pre-alpha 1 release only

Instructions:
Well you know just extract everything and put the jellyb folder in your root of sd card. If WM6.5 tap on clrcad (nothing appears to happen) then haret, if magldr navigate to jellyb folder using ad-sd dir and select jellyb folder then boot AD SD.
Please remember to REBOOT X 3

the folder is named differently anyway. you can keep your existing build in ics folder, as long as you have space on sd card. It isn't laggy.

Seems good for now, not much time to play with it, but is solid.
Will probably go to magldr again soon when Ansar releases new WP7 ROM

Have you read the latest developments regarding Artemis? The new version will be equipped with Microsoft Windows Embedded Mobile, so not WinMO 6.5.5 anymore. This means that the startup screen also changes to that! Great new developments are coming to us and our HD2!!!
Keep track of this my dear friend!!
It's about the same impact as JB versus ICS!!
very best regards, Kuzibri

So far so good...
I've noticed we have x2 calendar icons and x2 gallery icons.
There's no camera apk so i installed procapture but it failed to start the camera.
Tried Wifi and it works ok
Battery drains seems ok too.
This is what i have so far...

Yeah,you heard it right!
The long awaited feature, ability to map keys for games that are originally developed for touchscreen enabled devices are coming to RemixOs.
The chinese version of RemixOs has a new version (2.0.401) dated 27th June 2016,which claims to support keymapping.
You can check the changelog at https://bbs.jide.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=7351
I wanted to give it a try.but the download was stucked due to the low bandwith offered by server, unfortunately.
If you are brave enough to take a early look,or can't wait for the global release. here are the download links.
1) http://pan.baidu.com/s/1bpibhZT
Code: gbku
2) https://yunpan.cn/OcRUtwhPNKenuX
Code: 938d
PS: Those files are hosted in chinese servers,so the bandwith is not super high. You're on your own,and ask google translate for help

There're few bugs that stop Android-x86 6.0 from daily use. For example,Google play services always crash on Intel Gen8+ GPUs,which is not fixed yet.
But the devs at Jide are actively contributing to Android-x86 6.0 and you'll be able to see the results in near future. For instance, the issue of Time being reset in Windows is fixed
in the latest commit, Check the marshmallow-x86 branch at https://github.com/android-x86-mirror
Hmm...seems like a solid release. I will wait for the official announcement and update though. If it fixes my nvidia/wifi/sound issues I might actually start using this

I think there is no remix os 3.0 for PC(x86) :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying:
I downloaded and installed it. My impression :
1 Locked DOWN, no more root command line
2 No Play Store option
3 Does include keymapping
4 Stock file manager can no longer read the partition on which Remix OS is installed
5 Maybe a little more quick because of changes to disk partition access
This may be because it is currently for Chinese users, hopefully there will be more flexibility with the release
EDIT 2016/07/01: After solving problems of getting into root command line, was able to deactivate jide app policy and then went on to install nova launcher, etc. Then using help from @HypoTurtle I was able to do systemless root. Everything now operating well. I will continue testing this 2.0.401 over the next few days for stability.
Summary:
1 No longer locked down
2 Play Store is activated
3 keymapping confirmed
4 Solid Explorer can read all disk partitions by using Stickmount
5 So far seems quicker than 2.0.205

If someone can post the ramdisk I'll compare to the previous version but regardless the current systemless root su/ramdisk.img should work fine; unless it's drastically different.
