Hi Everyone,
Has anyone got hold of Defy+ battery and installed it on Defy?
If yes, hows the battery backup and where to get it?
Thanks!
I was just about to ask the same question now. Waiting someone that have tested it confirm that.
Hmm dead post? Does anyone know how it works together?
+1 on this question

Oh! great question! interesting
anyone tried yet??
Has anyone tried it yet.... someone must have!! please share!
All,
I have motorola MB525 defy bought in September 2011. Last week, my phone battery got deep discharged and the phone won't boot even after plugging in the charger.
As the phone was under warranty, i got the battery replaced at Motorola Authorised Service centre yesterday but i got HF5X 1700mAh (the one in Defy+) as replacement. The service centre guy said that it would work with my Defy.
I kept the phone on charging for more than 12 hours continuously but the battery keeps charging and battery level is not going beyond 80%. (Though battery is giving good life, but, mind you, it is only 2 days since i am using it.)
Can you please suggest what should i do?
Motivateme/Meilbox,
Can you please elaborate and explain what should I do?
You guys can try this patch that I've made for Defy+ users on CM7.
And yes, it is just the battd from MS2Ginger 2.3.6.
It's a custom recovery update, so your phone has to be rooted and you need to have 2ndInit installed (for CWM 3.0 recovery or above).
And btw, it helps to describe what rom you are currently running when asking for help...
Cheers,

My Defy is rooted but it is running Stock Android Froyo 2.2.2 ROM only. Will the patch work on Stock ROM? If yes, how do I apply this patch?

just install 2ndInit
inside 2ndInit you'll get CWM.
and you can flash All's fix with that.

MIUI
Hey all, I am very attached to miui but the patch for the battery doesn't seem to work with it. It just results in a little question mark over a full battery icon in the notification bar.
For info about how Defy+ battery fit in Defy and where you can buy it in Europe read these threads :

It seems you need a GB Kernel to use it correctly...

and this is the new infos, the question can i install any other roms or tmobile rom is my destiny?
Yes, you can. Just update to 3.4.2-155 for Barebones, Xd1, JBoogie3 LiquidArc/BluelessGinger or 3.4.3-11 for Pays 5.1.
But i don't know if you can go back to stock 2.1, if you already has flashed a full SBF.
Thanks for your help, no prb if I cannot downgrade it

Wich one do you use/prefer. I flashed Barebones, Pays and xd1. So far my favorite is xd1.
Flashed JBoogie's BlurGinger today (based on Froyo Korea), and it's ****ing awesome! Even with blur, it's the most amazing rom i have ever seen. But i flashed today, then my I can be wrong
Will use it this week and see...

Rite now ur on which ROM?
MIUI has too much BUGs right now, CM7 is the best ROM for Defy.
BUT, with time, i think MIUI can be the most used, since they do a great job modding, theming, and developing their own apps.
CM7 has bugs regarding wifi and brightness. I'm currently on 177-005 nordic with Defy Cool&Clean MOD by trinacre, and I must say it's quite fast and stable. Scored a 1250 on Quadrant.
Hello,
Yesterday I installed Wolf's package. Now I redid the whole thing with the new V3.5
My question:
Are speedfixes and tweaks included in the Wolf_GB_2.3_TW_V3.5.zip?
My problems:
-Neocore only gives me 30.7 fps
-Quadrant only gives my 1100 points
And I'm pretty sure I installed the package correctly.

You should ask him on his thread.
But yes, they're included. There's a new version now.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192988
Yes but as I am a new member, I can't post in his thread because it is very likely that the question's answer is already in his thread.
OT: I wiped dalvik cache as someone mentionned in his thread, but that didn't help.
EDIT: Useless post again I think, after rebooting got 2200 points so it's fine

I know right! I'm amazed with it
I would like to know about battery life, since everytime I switch stock to any custom firmware I get more speed but verry little battery life (I have tried freex10, cm6, cm7, miui, tripnmiui).
How's your battery life with that rom, if I may ask?

Im currently on the first WB and speedfix 008v4.
Do I need to completely reflash to get to 3.5, and then update to 3.6?
Whats the difference between all the different ROMS? Found like 6 on XDA? Which one is the most popular, WB?
Thanks
Hi,
Can anyone tell how to get the UV mod for wolf's rom so as to improve the battery ?
I actually want to move back to the original rom but I want to give UV a try and then I will see if it works fine or not.
Will it be possible to remove the UV mod afterwards?
Here is what I did, I was on WB 4.0.3 with the custom kernel, I flashed the Back to Stock kernel fix:
http://www.mediafire.com/?zisvece37mbicec
and then the Undervolt patch:
http://www.mediafire.com/?amq979la9fvie7b
Seems to be working really well, great battery life!
Hope this helps, Just make sure you bakup first!
Hi,
the latest WB rom with custom kernel already has UV included.
Ralf
It may have been included, but the battery life sucked! I find it is much better with Stock kernel and the Undervolt patch

Did you go back to the Stock kernel and apply the undervolt patch? It is worth trying!

That UV patch is now password protected at mediafire. Why?
Hi,
so that everybody thinks about it and if it is really necessary. The password is mentioned in the original post from Wolf.

Thanks for your answers
Can use other FIREKERNEL as Black Hawk on this rom?
Sorry for my poorly english
First of all you have written, that it's Android 4.0.4 in title. But it's a2.3.6 ROM, that confused me

Try to calibrate your battery by deleting batterystats via CWM or just dowload the app "BatteryCalibration" from PlayStore. I'm not using this ROM, but it seems like android 4 eats up more battery than Gingerbread.

You CAN'T use these 2 kernels, cuz they're made for CM7 ROMs, so they won't work in Stock ROMs. But you can use "BatteryExtender" by LibiSC, I'ver never tested it, but it seems like it's working great and has a great improvement in battery life.

Well it's in the kernel man. Update it to latest 1.5 version and it'll be solved though 1.5 version is non-oc.

Download powertoggles from google play. It is less than 800 kb app and can show battery percentage. The battery stats come after GB. You will surely need to use an app / use custom rom / or port it from ICS
