Whitecookie MIUI-1.10.8 force close after restarting - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello All,
I just flashed to the Whitecookie MIUI-1.10.8 ROM. After I restored using TB and restarts my phone, and when it starts up, after I scroll down to unlock, a message pop up and says that the application launcher ( process com.android.launcher) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. And after I press force close the message just reappears. Even after I restart the phone, the problem is not fixed. I cant do anything with my phone, what should I do? Thanks!

goto settings, applications, manage applications, sony home and clear data(mind it, it may delete your present screen icons and widgets). boot into xrecovery, wipe dalvik cache, fix permission. reboot. wait for around 3minutes for the phone to settle. then unlock and go ahead.
hit thanks if helpful!
CheersS!
Milton --> From X10i on ROM : "ThGo2 v10. 0_RC4"
using XDA premium

Hello, I'm at manage application under the all tab, but I was unable to find " sony home" Does it have another name? the closest thing I can guess is "launcher" because its the program that kept requiring force closing. Is that right? Thanks!

As first, it's a great ROM, but with some Bugs on my Phone
1. OC where unloaded when i turn off my phone (not shutdow, only pressed the top button), in settings, max feq. is 600MHz until reboot
2. since a few days, app2sd doesn't work any more - when i go to Settings - Apps - Apps on SD, checked any app who's on SD, Apps-setting fc (could be since superuser update???)
3. update single apps on market does not work, it hangs after i clicked on update, then Loading ...
Hope, that's not to much
Rgds
i´ve also GingerDX V17
1: i never notice that. but i think i read something, that OC is reset with "Phone off".
2: i haven´t any problems with app2SD
3: i made updates a few days ago - no problems!
Sorry, but i can´t help you otherwise
to 1st. i've found an app that sets the cpu clock, so this is solved
to 2nd. dunno whats happend, but on reboot when it hangs, the sd apps where removed, mostly it reboots when its pluged in ...

[Q] I installed an APP and now my Phone crashs on Boot, what can i do?

Hey XDA's i have a little Problem,
i installed the Weather APP from the GO Dev Team, everything was fine but then i want to make a Weather Update and the App crashes!
Now everytime i start my Phone, it loads the Weather Widget and Android crashes and reboot again.. how can i delete the App or reinstall it.. or what can i do?
I know a ROM reinstall or factory clean will help but then all my Telefonnumbers and Conacts will be delete!
Phone Details: HTC HD2 with Hyperdroid and CM7 on NAND
You should be careful with the Hd2....ok here's what u can do
Go to setting --applications---manage applications
find the app in the list --- click the app and u will find a clear data and clear cache tab---click both of them
Try the app again and if it reboots then uninstall the app.
Hit the thanks button if I have helped u!!!!
The Problem is that i don't come into Android..
I start the Phone, then the HyperDroid ROM starts from NAND via MAGLDR.. i see the Bootscreen from HyperDroid and then the Phone ask me for my PIN. After i type my code in the phone says directly that "The Weather Widget has a Problem" and the Phone crahes/reboot! :/
I only come into MAGLDR without any Problems!
So is there any way to reinstall or delete it in MAGLDR?
Or gives it a way to come into the Root of the Phone so that i can delete it manuell?
Ah.. i got it..
- I start the Phone
- Press directly the Homebutton after type in the code to make a selection
- Go to SMS.. then back to the normal screen and then to Settings
- Now i have delete everything of GO Weather and the Phone has no Problems anymore!
Thanks for helping!!! ^_^
Anytime!!!

Download the Force close errors fix for WB's ROM here(not reuploaded): DOWNLOAD
I am also on Wolfbreak's ROM(Unlocked Bootloader DooM) btw :3
How to install?
1. Put the .zip file on your SD card.
2. Reboot the phone and go to xRecovery(do this by pressing the back button repeatedly during start up).
3. Go to "install custom .zip"(control xRecovery by using Volume up or down button, and Main Menu button to select)
4. Go to "install from SD card'
5. Install the .zip you downloaded.
6. Done :3
If it worked, don't forget to press the thanks button!

Thank you for your support. Really it worked.
I am thankful to you.Best Regards,

[Q] Whatsapp Stuck on Initializing after Crash and Reinstall

So I had some sort of crash on my HTC Sensation where the phone rebooted, and all my whatsapp messages were gone. Whatsapp automatically backs up your messages every 24 hours, so I reinstalled to enable the backup.
1. After installation, when inputting information (after restoring your messages) and getting into profile info, I am stuck on an "Initializing: Please wait a moment..." box
2. This goes on forever
3. I have force closed, cleared cash, cleared data and tried again with no luck
4. I have uninstalled and reinstalled (and reboot the phone) with no luck
5. I have uninstalled and installed the latest version from the whatsapp website (which has a different file size than the play store one) with no luck
6. I have redone this WITHOUT recovering my messages with no luck (even deleting the back up messages folder)
7. I can actually receive notifications from whatsapp, showing messages from groups / people, though clicking it takes me back to "Initializing"
8. Sometimes I get an "android.process.acore is not responding. Would you like to tell HTC?". This may be a separate issue as it still continues to "Initialize" no matter what I press
I can see 28 messages from notifications, some which are very important and urgent. Hopefully someone can help
Edit: I am using an unrooted HTC Sensation with ICS
Thanks
Update: Tried reinstalling using safe mode. Same problem happens, though instead of being stuck on initialization, Whatsapp force closes and stops working after about 2 minutes

Did the steps, but still stuck at initializing.
If your phone is rooted, try clearing dalvik cache. Other than that, I fear the only thing that you could possibly do is wait for an update.
I'm currently having (had) the same issue. I reinstalled a couple of times and suddenly it started working. I wonder if it was a problem on WhatsApp's end, because I didn't do a thing - suddenly everything was fine.

Did this:
- Uninstalled already downloaded version from Market on the cell phone.
- Downloaded Whatsapp from my pc, from their official website
- Transferred the APK to the cell phone, installed it.
- Left it a bit (a minute) at "initializing". Worked.
got it solved...
i was having problem with cm7.1.5 so installed cm7.2...
on 1st start of whatsaap it gave me msg about having custom rom can create problem as it does not support whats app..
then also i proceeded n i was facing same problem.it was stuck on initializing.
then after lots of different tries it worked on one trick...
what i did was :
1.1st backup all my contacts(mobile).
2.then cleared data in contact storage in manage apps.
3.installed whatsapp 2.8 which was backup earlier
4.clicked "Agree and continue" then entered my mobile no. but,it told me that whatsapp new version must be installed.
5.i then upgraded whats app from play store.
6.After installation was complete i opened it and it was started from same step of application of entering mobile no.
7. i entered no. , restored data from old backup of whatssapp, all messages were restored.
now my Display Picture , Name got appeared.
8.clicked next, shortcut of whatsapp was created. in 1 sec it got initialized, n continue button got appeared.
9. now i was having messages but no contacts(whatsapp).
10. now i restored contacts(mobile) from softwere i was using. and now after opening whatsapp m having contacts.
It worked on my phone... try it... best of luck...

Been getting this error since this morning. Reinstalled whatsapp. Still didn't work. Then I reflashed my ROM completely. Still having this error. Any ideas? Getting android.process.acore has stopped as soon as I open Whatsapp.
Running the Revolutionary S5 mod on my S3.
same problem
I'm having the same problem. As soon as I open whatsapp it gets stuck for a bit in the initializing screen, then crashes and shows "android.acore.process has stopped". This happens in the XRom, Smartdroid rom and S5 revolutionary rom for s3. Any fix for this? :/

I had the same problem with Revolutionary S5 V3
what did the trick for me was installing an older version which i downloaded somewhere(but not too old cause whatsapp wont accept it) and use it to activate and initialize. Then i updated through google play and everthing seems fine.
As for the android.process.acore follow these steps:
First of all switch off the internet
- tap on setting and navigate to applications
- tap on all options and search for "google services framework" from the list
- tap on it and hit force stop to forcibly stop the application
- now hit force stop for the following apps
-> contacts
-> gmail
-> facebook
-> whatsapp
- reboot your system.
Cheers
WhatsApp slow initializing due to contacts problem. Confirm!
Check out how here...

"launcher 3 has stopped" keeps looping every few seconds

After installing an app my phone just became useless.
"launcher 3 has stopped" popup with an 'oke' button. click and few seconds later same popup.
I searched and this can be easily fixed by uninstalling the last app. However, while trying to get into 'settings' > 'apps' I just don't have enough time before the setting app itself crashes. "settings has stopped".
How to uninstall the app without booting? Or f**k it up so it can't start before booting?
I went into recovery and there is a button 'wipe' but that will probably do a factory reset, wish I really hope to avoid. I hope to make it stable enough by just clearing the cache, but with the 'new layout' recovery I don't see that option. (team win recovery project v2.8.5.1.big)
Had a dream the other day about making a backup of my phone. I should pay more attention to those dreams...

I decided to clear the cache, data cache and dalvik cache. Turns out that means total factory reset. Hours later now. got my phone back.
Will make a back up now!!
